Absolutely delicious! Tried this place after seeing it go in downtown in Haverstraw. This is…read moreincredibly delicious, authentic Mexican food. Their shirts say Tex-mex, but I'd scrap the Tex. Delicious!! My fiancé and I have been here twice. The first time I got a quesadilla and he got skirt steak. When I say it was the most delicious quesadilla I've ever had, I'm not joking. The steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned deliciously, and wildly reasonably priced. We also ordered guacamole and plátanos which was awesome but I would have liked a few more plantains instead of chips, which also came with. The second time we came was for taco Tuesday. All of their 5 different tacos are only $1 each. We got two of each to try them all. Each was absolutely incredible but their al pastor taco was my favorite. We ended up ordering a few extra even though I was stuffed. The tacos are the smaller, soft flour tortilla type. I ate 5 and was full. I could have pushed it to 6 (which is how many usually are included for a meal when it isn't taco Tuesday). Both times we went, we got drinks which were cheap, strong, and delicious. They use real coconut to make the pina colada, if that tells you anything. At the end of both nights, with drinks, our total wasn't even $50. That's a pretty sweet night out! The place itself is relaxed. They have a few TVs and music playing but not loud at all and conversation is easy. Ample room for groups as well. For me - definitely 5 stars! We will be back many times over. Once you order to-go, they will start texting you their specials which always look incredible and make me want to eat there every day! Also, you can text in your take-out order. A welcome addition to haverstraw!

Fish was delicious, ceviche was unique and fresh, only complaint is that guacamole could use more salt and lime (easy fix). Cheap, delicious and nice atmosphere. Staff was great.

I was so excited to try out The Griller after all the hype I've been seeing on social media, but…read moreunfortunately we were really underwhelmed. The Service: The ordering process went pretty smoothly, aside for the fact that the waitress had to ask a manager if she was allowed to give me a pickle on the side. But it's a new place, so I understand not knowing everything yet. Whomever served me my soup (it wasn't the waiter who took our order, it was someone in plain clothes) leaned over my husband, touching him, to serve me my soup across the table. When utensils were brought out, they were all dumped in a pile on the table for us to take ourselves. We had to ask for the check twice, and the store was empty, and the owners/workers were just sitting around talking. When you are a sit-down waitered restaurant charging a mandatory 18% gratuity, I expect the service to match and this was definitely not that. This is the kind of service I'd get at a fast food takeout. The Food: I'm hesitant to comment on the actual food because everyone has different tastes, but I feel the need to mention that I had an upset stomach for the entire following day. I can't say that anything was necessarily raw or spoiled, but there was definitely something up with the freshness of the food. The green bean dish was mushy, as if it was cooked in the morning and sat there all day. That should definitely be a dish that is made to order. I ordered chicken poppers, and luckily I asked for the bbq sauce on the side because it was more like marinara sauce with some spices. The poppers themselves were really good and fresh, but understandably plain since they're meant to go with a sauce. I ended up requesting ketchup on the side. My husband had their supposed best selling burger and said it was tasteless, but I will say that he is a chef and has a higher standard than most when it comes to eating out. The beef onion soup was ok in my opinion, my husband didn't like it. I'm writing this review knowing that they are a fairly new restaurant, and hoping they can use this honest information to make some changes.

Tony and I stopped by the other day on the way back from a day of shopping at Woodbury Commons. If you head over to Playa, I recommend sitting outside (if it's good weather) OR in the bar. Karen, the bartender on the night we visited, is amazing! As for food, everyone automatically gets chips and salsa upon arrival (the way it should be). And stand outs for us included the single-layer nachos (we added chicken as our protein), the combo plates, and the fajitas. The sauce on the fajitas was some of the best we'd ever had. I think it must have been árbol chiles and guajillo chiles (?) that gave the dish such a rich, orange color. But our minds were just blown by how good the fajita sauce was. Oh, and we ordered the mixed fajitas (shrimp, beef, and chicken). The combo plate I ordered including a Beef Chile Relleno (yum), a small Been Burrito (yum), and a Chicken Enchilada (yum). OF COURSE it was served with rice and beans (more yum). It just blows my mind why such a combo is hard to find in all of NYC. But, luckily, just a few short miles away, we have Playa Cancun... and we will be returning to this place soon!

After me and girl waited for one hour for a table a kind gentleman donated his table after he felt bad for us sitting on the floor and that's when the nightmare really started happening. For starters we had to hunt down our own waiter (mind you being right smack in the middle of the restaurant) which eventually getting ignored and ghosted us after she took our order and never came back with our entrees we didn't even eat dinner after realizing that it was almost 10 o'clock at night. We will never go back.
