I've been coming to this restaurant since 2019 and have always loved the atmosphere. The way they've transformed a historic industrial building into a restaurant gives it a unique character that sets it apart from most places in the area. For a while, though, the food became pretty average, so I stopped visiting. During the FIFA World Cup semifinals, I decided to give it another shot. I ordered an Old Fashioned and the tavern burger. The burger was excellent, while the Old Fashioned was just okay. Yesterday, I returned with a friend, and I'm glad I did. The smoked Old Fashioned was outstanding--possibly the best I've had in Rockland County. We also ordered the shrimp appetizer road house burger and the OG tavern burger, and both were cooked perfectly. The server and bartender were both friendly, attentive, and happy to answer questions and offer recommendations, making the experience even better. I'm happy to see this place back on top. Between the excellent food, fantastic cocktails, the welcoming service, and the unique setting, it's earned a spot back on my regular list. Looking forward to coming back again soon. read more

I came to Hudson's Mill around Christmas time & unfortunately, didn't have the best experience. That said, I didn't want one visit to stop me from giving this place another chance, because I genuinely enjoy the food, drinks, vibes, aesthetic, and overall atmosphere. Today, I came back for a Galentine's brunch, and I'm so glad I did. The food was really good (as always), the service was great, and the vendors were such a fun touch. It truly made the entire experience enjoyable and reminded me why I loved this restaurant in the first place. Went with the family to have lunch and watch some games. It has a cozy and welcoming vibe. Service is very attentive and even though it was busy they found us a table quickly. The wings are juicy and I really enjoyed the lemon pepper dry rub and the classic wings. The spicy waffle fries with pub cheese...yum and thank you. We had such a great meal at Hudson's Mill tonight. My daughter had a Clausmopolitan, which came in a lit-up glass with a sugared rim, so you could see the pretty color, and the OG burger with waffle fries; my son also had the OG burger; my husband had the Laredo burger and an old fashioned; and I had the steak salad and a glass of pinot noir Everything was delicious. My salad was so good - lots of steak bites, nice fresh greens, beautifully arranged - and they cheerfully switched the salad dressing for me from ranch to balsamic, which I highly recommend. The burgers were cooked to order and everyone was happy. What was really nice about this meal was that all of us asked for a change to the entree as it was written in the menu, and everything came out exactly the way we ordered it - hurray! We've eaten here several times and we've always had a great meal. I've had the pernil, which is excellent, and the fish tacos, which were very good. I really recommend that pernil, the pork is slow cooked and us just delicious. It comes in a rice bowl with veggies and it's a lot of food, I usually take half of it home for lunch the next day. I haven't been to Hudson's Mill in quite some time and thoroughly enjoyed it! I used to come once a week when I lived in the area so I was long overdue. Came with the family for dinner and they happened to have musical bingo going on in the dining room. We ended up joining the game at the last round. We didn't win but it was fun. For dinner, we shared some apps - the Brussel sprouts, firecracker shrimp and the sweet Thai chili wings. The wings were excellent! The shrimp was okay, I was considering the calamari and should've gotten that instead. The Brussels were perfectly charred and came with a delish sauce. For dinner, I had the roadhouse sandwich. This was my fave - it's a must try! Hudson's Mill has a pretty decent size cocktail menu. I started with the Perfectly Pear - can't go wrong with Pear vodka. Out of the rest of us, there was a winter margarita, blackberry martini and Kilduff's French martini. I had a sip of each and they were all tasty. When it came time for dessert we ordered the cappuccino mousse and the apple crumb. Both hit the spot! So much so that my sister ordered another cappuccino mousse cake to take to go. First time at Hudson's Mill. The service was alright, for the prices on the menu I would have expected the host to be more pleasant and friendly. The fish and chips was alright. The fish was a filet not a Chunky fish as normally serve as a fish and chip. Only three pieces- in my opinion it was pricey. The shrimp linguine with lobster bisque sauce is supposed to be the signature dish- it was alright. Didn't capture the taste of the lobster bisque. Not a dish I would order again for $29. Truffle fries were good, but lacked the truffle taste. The restaurant is beautiful, the drinks were good and the food was subpar. Seemed like a lot of the food (particularly the desert) was not made in house. I think what bothered me the most was that the suggested tip starting at 18%, 20% and 25% is including tax and service charge. Very misleading as the tip was based including tax and service fee. Modern space with ample seating, bar, and private room for large groups/parties. Our waiter, Robbie, was attentive and friendly. We had a large party in the private space and he kept up with bussing and drinks. The pretzels and brussels were my favorite appetizers. For dinner, I ordered the Garnerrito and my sister ordered the CBC (which I preferred). The Garnerrito felt more like a lunch item. Can't wait to return for a brunch. Food was good - we stuck to burgers and typical bar fare. Service was friendly but not overbearing. For my taste it is extremely loud. There was live music and we could barely hear each other. Was in for dinner with my girlfriends on a Saturday night and the place was great! Very inviting. Live music. Delicious food and drink without breaking the bank. Service was amazing. Our waiter was extremely attentive and had a great personality. I indulged in the corned beef reuben with the most delicious, creamiest coleslaw, swiss cheese, russian dressing served on a marble rye. It was absolutely amazing. Reubens are a dime a dozen but this was something special. It came with fries that were the perfect salt and texture. Unfortunately I did not get a picture. Take my word for it, though. Spectacular! The Espresso Martini was top notch and highly recommend. Will be back when I'm in the area again. So good! read more

This place is consistently good, which is hard to find in this area. The drinks are well made and well priced. We have had anything from typical bar food to actual dinners, and all are of a good quality and made well. We like the brunch, and bottomless mimosas, but it's important to know that it can be loud on the Sundays with a DJ. We enjoy the energy, but it might be something to check on their site if you are looking for something a bit more low key. It's definitely worth checking out. I also really like that their website is consistently updated and they do a lot of different events. They really put in the effort to be a part of the community and give people a reason to come together. We are so happy to have Hudson's Mill nearby! read more

The place is set in an old and run down area. The buildings appear to be run down and dangerous. It is dark and very poorly lit with no signs of any type of security. I found it to be an unsafe place to park. The parking lot is on a big hill and the parking spots and signs are poorly laid out. There are other businesses in the area that use the same parking area so it's difficult to find a parking spot. There are very limited handicap parking spaces. They have had on occasion, a valet service there to park your car. I, unfortunately, used the valet only to have my car returned damaged. The restaurants valet service, Classic Valet of New Rochelle is right in line with the restaurants poor service. They hung up on me when I tried to report the damage. Snotty nasty people. The restaurant originally told me they would pay for the damage but after numerous conversations, the restaurant wouldn't pay for the damages that occurred at their restaurant. I eventually had to sue them in court which they didn't show up for. They were served with an execution order by the Sheriffs department. The restaurant only responded to the court subpoenas after the sheriffs department went after their bank accounts. So six months later they still haven't paid for the damage to my car. I saw pon the Rockland County clerks web site that the restaurant was sued by others. The food is sub par, our dinner was absolutely terrible and it was served cold. A rare burger was served like a hockey puck. I felt sick that night after eating a small portion of the food. The wait staff was terrible. After you get your food, good luck trying to get the waiter back. I found the place to be awful. I can't image the place staying in business too long. Total horrible experience! read more

While it's a decent drive from the outlets we are so glad we made the trip while the others shopped. Amazing atmosphere as it was once a textile mill. We sat at the bar and were treated to a well prepared Smokey old fashioned and an Ornament (pic below) served by a friendly, attentive and able pouring bartender. Food was also really good. My husband and I went to Hudson's Mill for dinner with a friend for the first time this week. After we got home, I suffered the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had, lasting overnight and well into the next day despite taking Pepto Bismol three times. It was the only meal I had that day. I had to go to Urgent Care where the doctor verified I had painful food poisoning. My husband called to speak to the manager and warn them about the food. She was on vacation, and Chef Jimmy called back. He was unresponsive, unsympathetic, and frankly hostile, saying the restaurant passed its health inspections. He didn't take any responsibility. I can't tell you how upset and disappointed we are in his response. We will never set foot in that restaurant again. read more

The restaurant is very cute and spacious. The service was great. The fried calamari appetizer was excellent, the calamari was tender and the fry was so crunchy. The pretzel appetizer was good as well, tasty cheese sauce. The filet mignon was well-prepared but slightly overdone and for some reason sliced horizontally. The roasted pernil had delicious juicy pork. The fish dishes were delicious and the risotto that came with sea bass was very flavorful. The burger and the pulled pork sandwiches were dry however. We visited here on a Sunday evening. We made a reservation at the earliest time available, yet the restaurant was not full only 2 other couples, yet reservation was 2 hrs later in which we drove 45 min based on reviews by others. Service was subpar food was very underrated. I had the BCB, chicken was soggy, too sloppy with coleslaw resulting in a very bland sandwich. My husband ordered the Firecracker chicken sandwich that was so messy with the bang bang sauce he had to eat it with a knife and fork. He said it was okay but only ate half of it. All to say a very disappointing meal and service was slow and not well informed on the menu items. I do not recommend bothering with a visit. read more

I can't believe I've never been here before this. My friend and I went for lunch during the holidays and it was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere and vibe is perfect for chilling out and drinking or a date night. The brussel sprouts were full of flavor. Family had recommended birria sandwich and so did the waitress but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. The meat was very dry. The sauce was basically broth. I did like my drinks. I got the spiked salted caramel and apple cider. My friend had three mules. We also tried the French onion soup. I would definitely come here again for a date night and hang out. I want to say this place is a hidden gem, but it was packed every time we've gone, so I guess it's just us who didn't know about it. There aren't many real restaurants in this area, so finding this place was like finding gold. In our 3 visits so far, we've tried: Chicken tacos Steak tacos Brussels sprouts Chicken and waffles Roast permil Mashed potatoes Bricktown dip Drinks: Red sangria Where'd my man-go Margarita de Los muertos Regular margarita The tacos are pretty good. The chicken is marinated and flavorful. The steak is the perfect texture. The salsa that comes with it is very generic and not made in house (I hope!). The Brussels sprouts were pretty bland and could use some element of sweetness, like maybe honey? It could also use some texture via toppings, like maybe some kind of nuts or cheese or something. It comes with a mustard butter, but I don't eat mustard, so I can't say anything about how that impacts the overall taste of the dish. The chicken and waffles my husband got and said it was good, but their syrup is not just regular maple syrup and he didn't like that. He asked for regular syrup and got more of whatever kind of syrup they put on it to begin with. The roast pork had the perfect texture but not a lot of flavor. The bed of beans and rice that it comes on top of made up for it though! And the portion is enough for a hefty plate of leftovers! The bricktown dip my husband had didn't disappoint and the mash potatoes were OK. All in all, the food/drinks are like 8.5/10 and the service is 10/10! This will be my new go-to spot! read more

***3 1/2 stars*** After a very interesting adventure roaming around the nearby Letchworth Asylum grounds, I stopped here with two of my noble chums for brunch this past Sunday. One of the said chums had been here before and recommended it as one of the better options in the immediate area. Both the exterior and interior are very edgy; it's sort of a hipster outpost in a pretty rural section of Rockland County, with the actual building it's housed in being a former textile mill. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated immediately pretty close to the entrance. About 10 minutes until the meal, a two-man musical group started up about two tables away, playing mostly country covers of Beatles and John Mayer songs. We all thought it was a little too loud and not particularly conducive to a brunch atmosphere. A bottle of water was put on our table right from the start, which was a strong positive for one of my chums, who chugs about 300 ounces of water a day by my estimation and often ends up acting like a starving castaway if her water needs aren't attended to constantly. It was nice not to worry about that for at least one meal. My eyes were immediately drawn to the bacon-wrapped sweet potato appetizer, and I was able to convince my dining party to get in on that with minimal effort. Absolutely the highlight of the meal - very delicious with a perfect savory/sweet combo on the palate. Neither of my chums seemed particularly enthused with the dish, which was baffling but benefited me enormously. I ended up eating about 60% of it. Their loss. I also opted for the chicken and waffles entree (on the menu, waffles was in quotations. I don't know why; they looked and tasted like regular, non-quotation waffles to me.), which were okay but not great. The chicken was the best part - juicy and tender. The waffle was a bit overcooked and represented about 65% of the dish; not much of a chicken and waffle equilibrium if that's important to you. Given especially that the waffle was overcooked, it would have been nice to have a sharper, legit knife on hand instead of the glorified butter knife that I awkwardly ended up slicing off chunks with. It wasn't bad, but I'd probably explore other portions of the menu in the future. The service was okay. On the positive side, we didn't have to wait too long for anything and the waitress did stop by fairly regularly to check in. The negatives though spoke to a larger issue that we've been seeing in the restaurant/hospitality industry in the post-COVID world. All three of us initially opted for just water (one person belatedly got a soda). The minute the waitress realized we weren't drinking alcohol, her demeanor noticeably changed and was a little chillier. Not only that, she came back a few minutes after taking our orders to see if anyone had changed their mind about a drink. For the record, none of us are strangers to a good cocktail - we just decided not to drink on that particular occasion. But the waitress didn't know that. What if one of us had been a recovering alcoholic? It just felt in poor taste to me, especially the second visit. Conversely, two of us were at a restaurant a few weeks ago where we DID order alcohol - and in that instance, the waitress became noticeably warmer. I get it. The minute someone orders a drink, the bill is going to jump up and the tip likely is as well. In this day and age where so many businesses are struggling to keep their doors open, every extra item helps. But a consumer shouldn't have to worry about getting substandard service because they chose hydration over a rosy hue in the cheeks. Something for individual waitstaff and restaurants overall to consider before they decide to aggressively upsell. I'd probably come back, but at a quieter time where I don't have a twangy version of "Gravity" playing 10 feet away. read more

They do have a great beer list. Including many regionals such as Industrial Arts. We ordered fish tacos and chicken and waffle. Because it took a bit to get a beer, we skipped an appetizer and just ordered mains. Food was good though nothing exceptional. Alright, let me weigh in on this amazing place.... YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY IT!!!!!! The venue is rich in history as it was the factory where the uniforms for the civil war were made. HOW COOL IS THAT? The industrial space is really cool. Although the floor space is open, the acoustics are surprisingly not "loud." There is a separate dining area that is really good for private parties or fundraisers. The staff is nothing short of amazing. The food is excellent! Hats off to the chef. Please see the pictures: also, don't skip the Short Rib Ravioli or the Liege Waffe... There is a bar if you're not trying to "dine" and you want to catch a game and have some simple bites...
