If all the locals were talking about it I knew I needed to check it out. Oh Doughnuts is a small doughnut shop in Winnipeg. When I mean small, it's tiny. If you don't know what you're looking for you'll miss it and once you're inside there's barely room to leave the counter. We were told to come early because they close when they sell out and they always sell out. They've got some more common flavors for those who are more traditional in their tastes and then they've got some crazy and exciting ones and of course I wanted to try all of them. My friends and I went with half a dozen so we could try them all. I thought the Lemon Meringue or even Peanut Butter Marshmallow one would be my faves. While they were both amazing my favorite flavor was a more savory one. I am obsessed with their everything bagel doughnut. It just sounds like it shouldn't go together, but it totally does. What I got was a warm, soaked, untoasted bagel with a 1/8" of butter on it. I wish I got that generous a serving when I order cream cheese. Here's an actual account of one of my experiences at this store; It's about 2 am, I'm just off a late shift, I walk in the store and I'm the only customer. I timed how long I waited there and it took them 10 minutes to come to the front and serve me. I could see the employees in the back. Clearly able to come help me. Too often I get the wrong food here. Not like a once in a while accident, like I have to check every time to see if it's right. Usually if it's right, it's done with half the effort. I order bagels and if I ask for butter or cream cheese they only put in the effort to put in on one side, just smush the two halves together and cut MOST of the way through the bagel. Never all the way. So I have a badly cut bagel with spread on half and the other half has nothing on it. They don't listen to any instructions. I've never had a pleasant encounter with these employees, they don't smile or try to be all that friendly. They're usually just dismissive.
