In 2004, I moved to our home in Florida and three weeks later a bad gas smell was throughtout the house. I called Sams Gas because it was the information left by the previous owner. I Thank God they came as fast as they did only to locked my propane tank with a Danger Slip, told me my vent was too close to a truss up in the attic and forced me to hire company to raise my water heater off the floor in my garage. But it doesn't stop there, they were charging me $65.00 monthly for a tank rental fee for 2 years until I spoke you a neighbor. Who told me, 'I'm being charged for the same rental $65.00 fee every year. Why are they charging you every month?' After my compliant they stopped, but never refund me. In 2020, when COVID began, Sams Gas started a recurring fee and I paid it for three years. Then I realized I was being charged for services that 'never' took place. As a Latino I leaned toward racism, but decided instead to reach out to the Florida Attorney General, Pam Bondi and she put Sams Gas in it's place by forcing them to sell me the rental tank for $1.00. Look elsewhere. Beware: If a Sams Gas "driver" thinks he sees something on your property completely unrelated to the gas service it's self, they can log a "concern" and refuse servicing your tank. Then hassle you to check into it on their time, 0 appointments or a copy of what was the "concern" and weeks later to that. Also it doesn't matter if it passed inspection, or was installed by another licensed contractor. I guess Sams Gas employs "the top" OSHA experts to drive for them. Beware!! I've been trying to Get my tank hooked up. The sales guy DAN!! Must be best friends with owner or he would be fired! Never looked at property to check on where tank could be - failed inspection 2times so far! For lack of doing his job. Service techs are good and should work somewhere else! They have been out 3 times and due to DAN it was wasted time and trips! This have been 7 or 8 months. July 21 was last time he said anything until I showed up In the office. What a blessing to the start of our day. This morning, I met Yury, the service tech for Sam's gas at our new home. We had hired Sam's to install a tank to service our generator as well as, water heaters and etc. From our very first conversation with Dan 5 months ago, to conversations with Kristen, the company has been top notch. But today it got even better, Yury was phenomenal in his service, attitude, professionalism and explanations. What a great representative of your company. I had to call Sam's LP Gas service department because my tankless gas water heater was not working properly and sometimes not at all. Sam's gas installed this water heater in late 2019. I requested service, and they sent out Yury he was on time and professional Yury found the problem and called the manufacture's service hot line. They agreed it needed to be replaced so Sam's gas ordered a new one. Yury, and two helpers came out Nov 1st to install the new water heater they were all friendly and professional and in no time had it replaced. We needed a new tank installed for a new home build. Mark Stallings was our Sales rep and he couldn't have been more customer focused. He is very knowledgeable and didn't 'sell', but rather listened to our needs and educated us so that we could make the best decisions on what to 'buy'. He made us feel valued as a customer and always had time for a question and kept us up to date on the status of our installation schedule. Curtis installed our tank. He was VERY skillful with his Kubota - working in a very tight space and doing a great job! We appreciated his level of expertise and experience. I highly recommend this company. Beware! I have been with this company for a year and they have systematically raised rates so that now each fill is costing me nearly double what it was a year ago. The house had a tiny tank which was being leased from Sam's Gas when we moved in, so we just stuck with it. We use a lot of gas for a big family, so 125 gallon tank is being filled every couple weeks on auto-fill plan. They quoted me a really low rate for the first fill ($2.49/gallon). Since then the rates are skyrocketing, both the per gallon and the per visit fee. The per visit "Hazmat" Fee is up 28% (Was $35 and now $45) and the per gallon rates are up 60% from the "market rates" which started with the second fill (started at $3.39/gallon and now $5.49/gallon). I stopped receiving the invoices for each fill when the rates jumped $1.00/gallon a month ago. After the latest fill was almost $500, I had to email to request the invoice to see what changed. Seeing the per gallon rates so high, I called anonymously to ask the rates they charge for a tank fill, explicitly clarifying with them to find out if rates were different for an owned tank vs rented tank. The woman I talked to said rates are the same regardless of rent vs owned and gave me a rate of $4.87/gallon ($0.62 per gallon less than they charged for my last two fills!!!). After calling around to get quotes from other companies and of the 4 others, none quoting me as high as $5.49, I called back and explained my disappointment with the situation. The woman acknowledged that I was on the $5.49/gallon rate and said when I called earlier for a quote she gave me the $4.87/gallon rate of some Florida propane rate site, not the rate they charge. I explained that I had been clear that I wanted a rate quote for a tank fill. She said she would just adjust my rate back to $4.49/gallon. I read through the comments here and can see that this company is all about misleading and sneaky billing practices to take advantage of residents that cannot afford to replace their tank. They are worse than the cable or satellite TV companies with awful rate increases. I am thankfully in a position to be able to afford to purchase a tank outright and have it installed so I can be rid of this company, but beware, this is not a company you want to tie yourself to with a rented or leased tank. Excellent customer service! Had a new gas line for our stove put in. Yes it took a while however it was because of the permits and waiting on an electrician for bonding. Both crews that came out were fantastic from workmanship to clean up. Amazing customer service! read more

I had Sam's Gas for about 8 years. Ever since COVID they keep sneaking there prices higher and higher. They were charging me almost 6.00 a gallon. When I called around other companies were MUCH cheaper, but I couldn't get gas from them because Sam's owned the tank. We finally told them to take the tank back and we switched to electric. Be cautious they start out cheap then raise the rates. read more

​Sam's Gas is not to be trusted, back in July they disconnected my tank without notice, when I called they repeatedly told me they did not do it and they would never do it, I was paid up but my tank was disconnected, eventually I got to a driver who told me he was given the order to disconnect, why? No answer on that, my tank was 80% full so I contacted another dealer and created an account and, I called Sam's Gas and told them I will be changing companies but hold the change until the tank is empty, on Friday I guess August 16? I tried to cook but nothing, they took the tank I called and they said they received a service take over and came to take the tank but the other company never contacted them so said the other dealer, yet Sam's Gas took the tank with more than 50% I'm sure like 70% full and told me they don't reimburse on gas, so I lost hundreds of dollars on Gas, so I repeat Sam's Gas is not to be trusted they will lie and cheat you for $$$ read more

Sam's Gas does not charge based on fair market value. They charge based on location where you live. This was actually told to us by Joey at Sams gas. So because we are fortunate to live in a nice location we are charged more money to fill our tanks. This feels like discrimination. read more

I do not recommend this company. We had a 250 gallon buried tank installed and the final pressure check was performed on 9/29/2020. On 9/25/2021 I noticed bubbles of gas coming out of one of the tank fittings (rainwater had collected and made this visible). I called. The tech came out on 9/27/2021 and fixed it (slightly less than a year after installation). We were billed $250 for this. It seems there is no warranty on their work. Buyer beware. That said, the tech was very polite and professional. I have no problems with their staff; it is the company policy and leadership to which I take exception. I will look elsewhere for propane refills. read more

Do NOT hire this Company! They were paid in full, installed my tank without a permit and now I have had an unusable Pool for 3 months , can't get gas to heat my Pool! No one gets back to you and the office manager is always out. I deeply regret having used this Company. Am actually going to turn this over to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Saved my a$$. Needed to fill up an onboard RV propane tank for the long trip back up north with the expectation of 20-30 degree temperatures. These guys were responsive when I called, opened the earliest of their competition (7am), had gas on hand and someone to fill up the tank, worked fast, and were affordable. RUN!!!! More expensive than any company out there with deceptive billing practices! Only been a customer for less than 2 years and my tank rental has gone up as well as hazmat fee by 35%. The National propane per gallon price is $4.65 and I was told that's how they charge, but last month they charge me $6.69 a gallon and this month $7.79!!!! I have 2 appliances on my gas and it was $335 dollars for a month of service and originally was $90 when gas was more expensive the last two years and should have gone down in price! They don't tell you when rates raise and arbitrarily raise them way above the promised National rate with no explanation as to where those numbers come from. It was more expensive than the power bill for my whole house. I called Ferrell and Suburban this morning and their rental rates, hazmat, transportation fee and per gallon are significantly less. It's all the same gas no matter who gives it to you. Unless you want your eyes gouged out and pickets empty stay away from this company. read more

Be very careful when reading the reviews of this gas company. The only positive reviews are from people that just get portable tanks refilled or people that initially start their service. Once you have signed up for their service and have a tank installed, they will continually raise the prices and you do not have a choice to go somewhere else. Their gas prices are double what other companies charge. You "rent" the tanks and regulators, but if there are issues, you are responsible for paying for broken and faulty equipment. I absolutely would not use them again, and unfortunately I am stuck with them. Complete scam. read more

These days, you can get a cylinder of Propane gas almost anywhere, even at a 7/11. These guys are old school, and fill the container on site at their own dock. The folks here are great, the service is efficient. You have to buy your propane somewhere, I like buying it from this great group of folks. read more

Paid by credit card inside the office where the ladies were also friendly and welcoming. They fill small to large propane tanks for BBQ grills, generators, etc. Also offer home LP gas services. Got a call from Louis 30 minutes later telling me he could meet me right away and get me all set up. He was there in 45 minutes and I had hot water by noon.. Read the google reviews before coming here. We have had issues with this company for many years. They OWN the tank in our yard. WE have to use them. We are currently OUT of propane. We have not received a bill in months. MONTHS. We called this weekend and got the answering service. They hide behind their employees and won't do anything to help you. The truck driver Jeff who was beyond kind said that there was nothing he can do to help. It's an "office issue" I would love to have a bill so I could pay. You even log in to their website and there is no $ amount owed on there. They have terrible customer service and I would RUN from them and not use them. The last time this issue happened with them and their NOT sending bills out we had emergency propane put in and they said all was fine. We went to go take a shower and the pilot light wasn't lit- but we smelled gas. My husband almost blew up the house trying to get that pilot light back on. Loudest BANG ever. They don't care- and have no regard for your family or safety. read more

Don't lease a in ground tank from Sams gas. I detected a leak at the outside valve for the tank. I called the emergency number on Sunday and they sent someone right out to fix it. Supposedly it was fixed. I was then out of town the next two days and when I got back I could still smell gas in the front yard. I called again and was told that someone would call me when they had an opening and could come out. I told them I was going out of town again until thursday morning and would be back only from 930- 1:30. Still they said someone would call me when they had an opening. No one called. I got back Friday at 3 and called them. No one got back with me. It is now Saturday and I am still waiting. Meanwhile I have no hot water and cannot cook on the stove and there is nothing I can do but keep calling and hoping that someone 'will have an opening '. read more

This company has been outstanding to me for the five to seven years I have worked with them. On the rare occasions I have had a service issue, they have resolved it reasonably, effectively and fast. I had an emergency (gas leak) yesterday, and they showed up within an hour or two --- pulling one of their guys off another job, apparently. They resolved the problem quickly and had a tank truck out to refill my tank within a couple of hours. Terrific. Thanks! read more

We had Sams Gas come out to run a line from our Teco meter to our new pool equipment (pool heater). They came out quickly to give us a quote, provided a detailed quote using the proper techniques and equipment for the job, and were able to come out and provide the service in just a few days. The technician came out to the house, ran the line, and had everything setup so that he could pressure test the line, get it inspected, and get it connected. They came out a few days later to complete the job, we paid them, and were told the job was completed. When we tried to fire up our pool heater it wouldn't come on. After investigation we found the gas line wasn't connected to the meter. We called Sams Gas to understand what happened and why we weren't notified. The person who answered the phone looked up our account and notified us that the technician noted a gas leak at the meter so he didn't complete the connection. Nobody told us there was a leak and nearly 10 days had passed since they were out! The woman on the phone assured us that somebody from Sams had notified us of the leak, but she could not tell us who told us, when we were notified, or how we were notified. I assured her that if we were told we had a gas leak that we would have taken immediate action. We hung up, called Teco, and they fixed the leak immediately. I had to get ugly on the phone with Sams to get them out the next day to complete the job as they were all booked, but to their credit they had somebody out the next day to complete the job. I chose Sams Gas as they are one of the recommended companies from Teco but the carelessness and complete lack of regard for my family's safety is completely unacceptable. read more

Horrible Company!!! We were over charged for years and never were refunded one cent! We always were under the impression that we had to go with Sams gas because the builder said that they were the ones that serviced our home. At one point we were charged over $2000, and since they had our credit card on file they took it! When we questioned why the bill was so high they said that we would receive the statement. I asked many times for this statement by email and never received it! One day after speaking with a neighbor we found out that many people in the community were having the same issue with this company, and after many years of abuse and horrible business practice many of our neighbors were making a switch. She gave me the number for the new company and when I called them, not only were they charging half the price per gallon, they also came and put the new tank in for free. The price we now pay is $2.60 per gallon and $60 per year tank rental. When we called Sam's to let them know we were canceling and they could pickup their tank,we were told that the remaining 65 percent left in the tank would not be refunded. This is a terrible company to work with and highly recommend not using them. After not living at the house for about a year, I scheduled an appointment with them to come out and inspect everything as I was having some issues with the gas appliances. They told me I ran out of gas. After spending $400 to fill the tank and a $125 service charge, I was still having problems with my gas fireplace. I called the fireplace company to take a look at and they told me everything was fine and in working order. They looked at the gas tank and said the my regulator was defected. I spent another $155 to the fireplace place company to hear that. They told me that the gas company should replace this for free. So I called Sam's once again and was told it would be another $125 service call plus the cost of the regulator. I explained that I was told it should be free and they said the first regulator is but this is the second regulator. I said the system just had an inspection and they told me that the system was fine when inspected so they had to charge me. What? I've never felt to cheated. I just do not understand how companies these days can feel honest about the services they provide. They need to rethink their company values. read more
