I made an appointment with them several weeks ago to do an internal inspection on my duct with a camera. This was set up online. Everything seemed very clear. The appointment was for today, Monday, April 27 between 8 and 11 AM. I called earlier this morning to see if anyone was going to show up. I got an answering machine. My call was returned at 1:37 PM and they acted like they had never heard of me and that they didn't have cameras to do duct inspections. Ben from Ferran inspected a poor A/C installation (unknown vendor, I had just purchased the house) and determined he could fix it right away. I don't know how to fix the installation so can't judge whether Ben's work will hold up, but I am confident that it will. And if anything happens, I'm confident Ferran will take care of it. We recently had two jobs completed by Ferran. The first was duct repair and insulation in our attic. After I called, someone was out the next day. He was very friendly and informative. The duct repair was a must-do as we were losing our cold air. The rep was not pushing the insulation but said it would also help and that our current insulation was not in great shape. We went with both and the job was scheduled in short order. The team came out and they worked straight through the 3+ hours they were at our house. They were friendly, shared photos of the completed work, and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. Unfortunately, that job did not initially help the air conditioner productivity. So I called Ferran and asked to have someone look at our A/C unit. A technician came out the same day (!) and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. It was a separate issue with our unit and we are still very pleased about having the first jobs done. At the conclusion of the A/C repair, the technician told me about the company's regular annual membership service that would reduce the cost of the visit and the replacement part needed. So we signed up and look forward to continuing the relationship with a company that earned our trust for their response time, quality of service, honesty, and value. read more

UNRELIABLE. They do NOT stand by their products. Their service team is responsive however the rest of the customer facing team does not. I had a warranty problem and Ferran was not helping to resolve with the air conditioner system manufacturer. Ferran kicked the care down the road and what irked me the most is Ferran not caring when my the compressor situation actually became a safety hazard. Despite Ferran being aware of the issue, they promised to send someone out to ensure to address the safety issue but no one ever showed. AC stopped cooling, called Ferran who said they could come out to diagnose by the end of the day. Customer service called later that day and said they were running behind and would come out first thing the next day. Tech did arrive the following morning and shortly diagnosed that the capacitor was bad. After replacing it the tech said the charges were $409! Knowing that capacitors only cost $20-30 this was an unreasonable fee for 25 minutes of work. Pro; good communication, honest, Cons; extremely overpriced. Later found my neighbor had the same issue and that company replaced the capacitor for $230. read more

He also installed shut off valves in the closet on the other side for me and put in a plastic service panel that easily removes. Highly recommend him. Terrible service! First, they were supposed to call me within 48 hrs to schedule a visit and didn't. Had to go through Duke to have them schedule the visit. Then, I get a text message asking to confirm the appointment, which I do. On the day of the appointment I get a voice mail saying they can't send the electrician until they speak to me! I call back, no answer so have to leave them a voice mail and I confirm I am home so send the electrician but no, they just call back and leave ANOTHER message saying we got your message, call us back! I work from home and am on the phone so can't be answering every call I get. I had already confirmed the visit via text message and on voice mail! Do they need an engraved invitation?? I had to call this company every other day for about two weeks to get them to come out to my house to do an energy assessment. The resulting report seemed less technically specific than I had hoped. Nonetheless the appropriate tools were used to conduct the tests on my AC, insulation, ductwork, and electrical system and the test was conducted in a quick and professional manner. Also the inspector/ technician made some suggestions on how to alter my home to make it more energy efficient. Per that technician, an estimating team from Ferran would contact me about the cost and scheduling of the alterations to my home. I was not contacted but I did want the work done. So I reached out to their company. Yet once again trying to get their people on the phone and scheduled was an ordeal. I would recommend Ferran, very responsible company and reasonable pricing. They were sent by Duke energy since we had the water heater coverage. They replaced the old water heater since it was over 10 years old, but still had an issue with the circuit breaker. Their electrician came out the same afternoon and found lots of loose wiring in the circuit breaker and replaced a bad breaker and tighten the rest of the wiring and the total cost was $175. I had Ferran Engineering Group do a total change-out of my A/C system about 5 years ago. Since then my electric bills have gone down significantly and my home is much more comfortable. The job was done on schedule and very professionally done. I called then to clean my A/C ducts and dryer vent. They sent a two man crew who did a very thorough job and to my way of thinking went above and beyond what I may have expected. They were both friendly and efficient and knowledge of their job. I had an excellent experience with Ferran Services & Contracting when my landlord hired them to repair a really messed-up shower dial & valve assembly. The landlord had previously hired someone else, and that guy came in and basically gave up with the excuse of not being able to find the right parts. Ferran was then hired, and their guy came promptly and professionally and now my shower looks BETTER than it did before work even started, and it actually works properly. I was particularly impressed because we hit a small snag in the repair job due to some crappy construction in my apartment and a shutoff valve that wasn't working quite right. The Ferran employee handled the problems calmly and methodically, including dealing quite courteously with the maintenance guy from my apartment complex, who was a total jerk to the Ferran plumber. All in all, my experience with the Ferran Services & Contracting people that I worked with was probably one of the best professional service experiences that I've ever had or ever heard of. read more

I am not happy with Ferran. Our AC needed to be replaced, we did not know who to call so we resorted to google and online reviews. Ferran was close and a lot of people had things to say about them, we felt good enough to give them a go. Our AC unit was replaced, that trip felt successful but we have had to reach out 3 times since then. Recently we had a "Check up" in which we told the tech that the new unit was constantly running and not heating the house at all, he said he'd look at it. 20 mins later he comes and tells us that 'We have to open ALL vents or else it'd over heat'. Cool, he leaves and the unit STILL isn't heating. We had to call and set up ANOTHER appointment (which was a quick turn around, they were out on a Tuesday and returned on a Thursday) but we were told 'They'd be there anytime after 8am'. Morning comes and goes, it's 10:30...still nothing. Call for an updated and get a call center who's zero help and full of attitude, they take my name and number to "call back". Never got a call back from the support line but eventually did get a call from the tech, on their way. They came, replaced our thermostat and moved onto the next job. We've also used Ferran for electrical assistance, both jobs we were told we not possible. We needed to turn a room that had two separate switches that controls a fan into a room with a single switch that controls a fan. We had a smart switch we wanted to use and this was a requirement for installing. The tech blatantly told us that it wasn't going to happen and then moved on to another issue we had. All in all, Ferran seems to be full of contractors that are over worked and just there to get the minimum done to move on to the next gig. They helped with an emergency but not ideal for upgrades. read more

Do not use this company. They make you pre-pay for a service and if they don't show up your money is gone and you are stuck with them. We schedule a AC maintenance with was $99 and we end up paying $600 because our AC was broke when the technician was about to be done with the maintenance. A small part that cost CENTS Online end up costing $ 356+ $150 for electrical connection.The guy claimed that the electrical connection was not working properly. Our AC was working perfectly before we call for maintenance. Ferran promised to review the bill and issue a refund, but it didn't happen. They don't respond our phone calls and messages. We used this company for many years. They had pretty fair prices and good customer service but now the just want to rip you off. read more

My husband and I have been using Ferran for our electrical needs for years. We always request our favorite electrician, Al, to come to our home. However, Al was stuck on another job today, so Ferran contacted us to see if we would be okay with them sending someone else out. We agreed and had the pleasure of meeting Chad. Chad was awesome! He was professional, knowledgeable, personable, and had a great sense of humor! He was able to quickly identify the electrical problem and repaired it. We were also very impressed with how both Al and Chad spoke so highly of their supervisor at Ferran. To me, that says a lot about how the company stands by their employees which is hard to find. Very long story, as short as possible. We live in an older house and, since we moved in here ten years ago, we have had an old Florida Power energy saver box attached to our hot water heater. Well, we have never had Florida Power for our electric service but have Progress Energy. So, when I went to change out the hot water tank, I thought it might be nice to get rid of the old Florida Power equipment attached to it. When I called Florida Power they subcontracted to Ferran to remove the old box and replace it with the Progress Energy equivalent. When their electricians came out they were very professional and found that they couldn't rewire the system with the new box due to it being incorrectly wired to begin with. The breakers were too small, and the wrong type (which I already suspected) and the wiring was not the right gauge wire. So, I asked if they could request someone to come out and fix the problems so they could finish their work. They were able to go ahead and make the needed changes themselves and then finish the installation. I was very impressed with their professionalism and the quality of their work. I will definitely use them for electrical work going forward as well as AC if needed. read more

She sounds like she really cares for her customers and her job. After emergency service over a weekend and no AC at 90+degrees they informed me unit needed to be replaced. I called first thing on Monday to set an appointment and would have purchased immediately to get installed ASAP. I called another company just to get a bid for comparison although I fully intended to go with Ferran and would have ACCEPT no one bothered to call me back until 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. I was then informed they didn't have an appointment available till Wednesday or Thursday... just to give a quote. Needless to say, the company I AM using and would recommend "FOUR SEASONS", came within 30 minutes, even came back with a portable AC and is installing Wednesday morning. When I asked Arlene in Ferran's sales/installation why no one bothered to call me back she said the entire office was on a training retreat all day and was busy today catching up.
