It pains me to write this review because when Bob came out he was so nice. My A/C was not working, but when he showed up it was running perfectly. He said don't worry about the $95 service fee for coming out and to call if there were any future issues. I was so grateful. A few days later my a/c wasn't working. I called Tina, who is so nice, to set up an appointment, which was made for the next morning. It was a different technician who came out. He said Bob was so busy and they use him as the "over flow" guy. He was also very nice, but contradicted things Bob said regarding my unit panel, etc. I was charged $295, which of $95 was the service fee. I was so thankful that the job was done in less than 10 minutes! You know how hot it is in Florida. A/C is a MUST! I didn't have to pay on site. Tina called the next day and said I was quoted $295 and I made the payment. As a business owned by her and Bob I would expect her to recalculate a lower price if they thought I was quoted too high by an employee they send out. She said labor isn't covered under warranty, but the part is (2yrs). I asked what the name of the part is and she replied "Titan brand heavy duty 45/5 capacitor (American made)" Upon further research this part ranges from $15-$25. I completely understand the $95 service fee and markup on the part. It's a business for goodness sake! BUT I paid $175 OVER the highest I saw the part costs which was $25 which I could've bought it for. Obviously, I'm not an A/C technician and wouldn't be able to figure out the issue, but to charge a $95 service fee along with $200 for a $ 25 part is outrageous. 3 stars for Bob being so kind or else it would be much lower. This IS the location located in Winter Park because Bob did state there is a different company down south with the same name who unfortunately gets the companies confused and leaves reviews on the incorrect Yelp page. I highly support family owned business, but it's my duty to inform people. read more

Climate Design has been our go-to HVAC company since we built our house 8 years ago. They installed the first unit during construction and we have maintained a service agreement ever since. Recently, we had a lightning strike, and within a couple of days they were here to diagnose the problems with our AC. They worked quickly with our homeowner's insurance company and kept us updated. Due to supply chain issues, the repair parts weren't available, but between the great insurance company (Progressive) and Climate Design, we had a whole new system in place really quickly. The Climate Design electrician also came to diagnose and repair damage to our electrical system. The response time that the company provided was 8 hours and then 11 hours. Our upstairs AC unit went out on a Friday night. We contacted Climate Design Saturday morning and Steve was out to repair and have us cooled off by lunchtime. He was professional, courteous, and fast. We were outdoors the whole time, however, he wore a mask at all times which was appreciated. Our AC had a leak and was stopping and starting. After literally calling 6 or 7 companies through Yelp, we ended up at this one, as all of the others either rescheduled last minute or couldn't make it out for days. CD sent out a tech (wish I could remember his name!) that day no later than estimated. Climate Design came and saved the day! Our AC stopped working properly on Saturday 7/30. We went 2 days averaging 89 inside.. very hot, humid, and hard to sleep. Monday morning I called Climate Design, they returned my phone call before noon and Bob came out at 2:00pm the same day! We found out that the outside fan and capacitor wasn't operating at the speed that it is suppose to. The estimate was a few hundred (expected), but what WOW'd me was when he told me it could be replaced and fixed within 2 hours. Normally I expect a few days since they need to order the part, schedule out how long it would take and when they are available. But nope, Bob said he can go pick up the parts and put it all back together by 4:00pm. Before I knew it, AC was alive! The temperature dropped down to 82 degrees by 8pm and now we are good to go. Our air conditioning stopped working on Thursday afternoon, or Wednesday evening -- I'm not sure. The fan stopped blowing air through the vents, so I popped off the cover to the air handler on Friday morning, turned it on, and the blower inside was spinning -- but still no air at the vents. I stopped and prayed. Asked God for help finding an honest repair man. I checked out Angie's list, but didn't sign up after reading some articles about fraud. I turned to Yelp, read some reviews and locked in on one company. I prayed again, asking God for clarification about that company. Felt really good about them, so I dialed them up. Left a message. About 2 minutes later my phone rang and it was Bob from Climate Design. I informed Bob of my situation and he asked me if I was going to be around in an hour. I answered yes, and in 50 minutes he was here. In 30 seconds he diagnosed the problem, a bad capacitor. He said it was common in these older units. He replaced the part and Goodman blew cold once again. $125 for the repair. He said everything else looked great. To say the least I am very happy I chose Climate Design to fix my air conditioner. read more

These guys are life savers. Back in 2015, I had no AC for over a year so mix Florida plus no AC and you're going to have a bad time. All the estimates from other places were ridiculous; but, thankfully, I got referred to Climate Design who gave a reasonable estimate. Got the AC put in and there were no surprise charges. Work was done quick and well. Fast forward to 2017 and we started having an issue with the AC not cooling (not connected to anything they did). We called them out and they checked everything to try to find out where the issue was. When they couldn't originally find it, they recharged the AC so that we wouldn't be left in the heat and then came back again to see if they could find where the suspected leak was. The leak was hiding in a sneaky place but they were determined to find the hole and they soon did! As soon as they found it, they brought in the equipment and part needed (covered by warranty) that same day and fixed the issue. We are now living in a paradise of cool air. I recommend them and plan to have all future maintenance done by their team. I have full trust in their work and their estimates. I personally had no issues with them calling back after I left a message and they always called before arriving to make sure I knew they were on their way. I know they must be busy with summer here so I was amazed that they were able to see me for my issue right away. TL;DR? Great prices for great work. Everyone knows the feeling of being in Florida heat with no A/C. Earlier today, my A/C stopped wanting to turn on, so I immediately went to Yelp and found Climate Design at the top of the list. Since their reviews were impressive, I gave them a call and I was given a time frame that someone would be here within an hour or so. This started with several phone calls and a voicemail not being returned. I was contacted by their VERY active social media person who claimed that I never called or left a message. After refuting that and providing my number I got a combination excuse that the owner was getting a lot of spam calls AND had deleted my voicemail. No apology, no call back. That irked me a little but I still called back and this time actually spoke with someone and arranged an estimate. In person they were curt and obviously didn't want to be there. There was no reference to the phone tag game. I let that go in the hopes that he was just busy and was trying to fit me in to make up for ignoring the calls. It just kept going downhill from there. Upon inspecting my AC unit he tried to tell me it was 10 years old according to the serial number (it was 2 years old). He told me that my AC unit was fairly undersized (without knowing anything about the house except approx. size). He offered almost no solution to my problem of having one room being warmer than the rest of the house. He did not offer or suggest doing an AC system inspection, had no tools to measure air flow or temperature with him. Overall it would seem that Climate Design has had no continuing education on air conditioning since the 80s. To top it all off my previous 1 star review was reported to Yelp to have removed. I can't imagine they would try to have this one taken down now as it has more than enough information. read more

When our A/C went out last week, I was referred to Climate Design by a friend who has used them for many years. They are a family owned, local business that provides excellent quality service. When I contacted them, they were very accommodating and friendly. I received an appointment within a couple of hours. The guy assigned to our house was Stephen, who I later found out was the owner's son. He was very professional and efficient and showed me exactly what was wrong with our unit and gave us an honest quote. We ended up saving a lot of money as a result of his recommendations.
