Smells bad most of the time but they generally have what I need and the lines aren't bad. I like Publix fruit better, but Sam's has it all.

This store is huge. There's a line all way to eye exam door! Limiting ppl. I'm going to BJ's. They can think past their nose!

Good size, not busy, no long lines at cashier, self checkout... not too many sample stations on weekends.

On this special occasion I thought it appropriate to visit it and write a follow-up review. So today, I drove up to this BJ's to do just that. From the moment I arrived at their parking lot, the first thing I noticed was how clean and organized it was, compared to other wholesale clubs, and its modern storefront that seems to be a preview of what you will find inside. Inside, you can always find a shopping cart of which one of their employees has brought in. I like their well lit space and the cleanliness of the store reflected in their sparkling clean floors. Their large screen tvs display is very impressive, as well as all the holiday items they always stock the store with. Most of their employees are very friendly and helpful, and if any are not, management listens to customer's feedback and takes action to make it right. Today, I went to the Deli department to purchase some Chorizo Cantimpalo, and noticed they had hired a very efficient and friendly lady with nice customer service skills. It's a pleasure to shop at a place with employees like these. Their prices are very good for items you always buy, such as Evian Natural Spring Water, which is my favorite. Besides this, today they had a sale that if your bought two 12 bottle cases you received $4 off. Today, I noticed a sign about their app's ExpressPay feature and that you got "$10 off on your first ExpressPay purchase of $10 or more." So I decided to use this feature, but was a little hesitant. But I asked for some assistance from one of the checkout associates, and found it very easy to use and very convenient. As I was leaving, I saw a sign at their Optical department announcing "a comprehensive eye exam by a Doctor of Optometry using a state-of-the-art technology." It appeared to be in person, but when I asked it ended up being a Remote Eye Exam. This is one where "an on-site technician operates the instruments while a licensed optometrist reviews the images and talks to you via a live two-way video call." This eye exam doesn't include eye delation. "Instead, it relies on digital retinal photography to capture pictures of the back of your eye without using liquid dilation drops." I also asked the associate in that department, if I brought an eyeglass prescription from an optometrist, if they could make my eyeglasses there and if they accepted insurance. He said they could, but didn't take insurance. So for people with insurance, I don't see the monetary advantage. As I was leaving, I showed the BJ's associate at the exit a QR code on my BJ's app. He scanned it plus three of the items I bought and let me through. Depending on one's situation, one can benefit from the services offered by wholesale clubs like this BJ's.

I also had reward points on my BJ's credit card. My son chose a 43 inch Samsung. No issues checking out. Staff was ok checking out and receipt check. My wife and I recently moved to the Roanoke area, and we were disappointed by the state of this particular location. In our experience, Aldi stores are clean, well-organized, well stocked, and staffed by helpful, friendly people. This location falls short on every count. The floors were dirty, with coolers leaking onto them. We saw rotting produce and grimy shelves. Restocking also seems to be a persistent problem; the items we've come to rely on from Aldi are consistently missing like our sourdough loafs, Keifer, and Coconut Water. We know this isn't typical of Aldi as a company; we've visited dozens of locations across two states and never had this experience elsewhere. This store clearly needs new management, and we hope corporate takes notice, because we don't believe they'd want this representing their brand. We're loyal Aldi shoppers, but until this location improves, we'll be buying our groceries elsewhere in Roanoke.

There was a young female cashier near the front, and then I noticed that by the time we were at the register, a thin white male was there eyeing my grandson who'd just paid for his purchase before me. So I asked him if he needed to speak to the cashier before she assisted me. The guy slid his eyes towards my grandson again then shook his head. The devil couldn't even pretend that he hadn't shown up to racially profile my grandson. And I made it known that I knew exactly what he was doing. My grandson was aware of it as well. I've noticed that every time I'm in that store, all of a sudden there's a white male employee passing by. They must have cameras in the back, and as soon as a Black person walks in they're on high alert. If this happens again, I'm writing the corporate office. So Roses employees, you better be sneakier the next time or I will definitely be calling your racist tail out! And Black people, just be aware that they're assuming the worst about you even though your salary may be twice as high as theirs. They may be renters while you own your home . Your credit score may be much higher than theirs. That's if they even have credit! But that's racist America. Always has been. Always will be.

She put on gloves, took our temperatures, and let us inside. Then she asked me what was the issue with my glasses and did a quick check of how my glasses were sitting on my ears. She adjusted them and gave them back to me to wear and reassured me to take my take because she understood that typically you'd have to wear your glasses for 5 minutes to actually see if it fit. We went back and forth a bit before my glasses were comfortable. Kylie is so attentive and caring! She is so sweet and her customer service is wonderful. I highly recommend getting glasses or any adjustments here if you can.
