The very first time I visited this store was when I needed to make copies of some keys. I remember how well I was treated. Since it was my very first time shopping there I was invited to become a member, downloaded their app, and did so and the keys ended costing me almost nothing for using a coupon one of their helpful employee gave me. But what I remember the most is how well I was treated. Since then I enjoy visiting their stores for most of my hardware needs. After being awarded the NC Triad Yelp Squad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, celebrating their contributions and accomplishments throughout the year, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And this ACE Hardware Store on 2303 Williamson Rd NE, in Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. ACE ultimate goal is "to be the most helpful hardware store for customers, offering quality products and convenient shopping experiences with expert advice." Through personal experience I have found out that their employees go the extra mile for its customers. And they have such a variety of products, that throughout the Seasons I like visiting the store because you never know what you'll find there. Anything from pumpkins to local honey during this time of the year. As a matter of fact, the other day I had to make a gift of local honey, and here is precisely where I found it. As soon as I walked in a friendly young lady greeted me, welcomed me to their store, and made herself available to help me find anything I needed or was looking for. I could see why their slogan "ACE is the place with the helpful hardware folks," was very true indeed. As I walked through the store I was amazed at all the different products they had in such a limited amount of space compared to places like Home Depot and Lowe's. And their prices if you add the excellent service you get are not bad at all. The service they provide is extraordinary. I read in one of their ads that if you purchase one of their large barbeque grills they will go out to your house and put it together. The best service and selection. The only issue is there are two parts to the store and half is upstairs. Rough for a disabled person. Go to the back for that entrance and not the front worn the iron pan out front. They are super friendly and can explain anything to anyone. Fair prices and personalized service. These people know what they're talking about and not just bodies in a store. read more

It just seems like the staff did not want to be there on a Sunday. They were several people downstairs working the counter, but still It took forever to get a minor part that I called ahead to Check that they had it. read more

This seems to be a big, open, well-stocked hardware store, and we got exactly what we came in for: an air vent deflector. The upstairs space through the main entrance on Williamson Rd is a decent size, but we were surprised at the sprawling chambers that were the downstairs space. Aisles and shelves had clear labels, and staff were helpful in answering our calls for directions. We'd happily come here again. read more

First I love this place everything in order great help. I went to get propane filled and they had a sale on 20 pound tank fill so I had it filled . I think the sale was 13.40 or some then when checking out came to 17.40 or some I asked why and was told that was for a standard fill which is 3.5 or some gallons . Never heard of a standard gallon fill always been buy pounds which a 20 pound tank is 4.6 gal. Fill. So where is the sale I just feel i was or it is tricking sale. read more
