Friendly service and very efficient! They have the system down, from ordering to serving, filling waters and boxing up the leftovers! Beautiful ceiling and clean restaurant. Lots of people but it didn't feel cramped, tables are laid out to still feel like you can have conversations without neighbors hearing every word. Food was hot, flavorful and plentiful! We wanted an overall tasting of some of the most popular items so we got a family meal and our waiter helped us tailor/sub a couple choices. Trust their recommendations! Turn the clock forward a decade and guess what, the food is still outstanding and the service is still attentive and kind. It was a 2 1/2 hour drive for us so we were good and hungry when we got into town. The owner greeted us warmly and a friendly server (her son), came by to help us. We decided to order: Hot & sour soup - heaven in a big bowl. Savory broth filled with delicious ingredients. It was well flavored, not too spicy or tangy Mu shu chicken - 4 pancakes with hoisin sauce. Our server wrapped our first ones for us. The dish contained the typical scrambled egg, sliced cabbage, protein, etc and it was fresh and tasty Beef with asparagus -noted in the entry that asparagus was in season so we had to order it. Meat was tender and the asparagus was cooked beautifully House chow mein - Fried perfectly and not doused in a bunch of sauce or oil. The protein on this dish was plentiful and it was simple and delicious. I loved how they didn't add chives/green onion to these dishes. The hot & sour soup had a few little green onions for color but this is the first time I've been to a Chinese restaurant that doesn't overfill the dishes with onions (as I don't like onions). Maybe that's the reason I enjoyed everything so much. Portions are very generous! We had lots of yummy leftovers. Our server told us that two of his brothers were the chefs. My kudos to them; they certainly know how to cook!

Everything had a unique sweetness to it including the California roll and crunch role, which my kids really liked. The Mongolian beef was very good as was the chowmein. The chowmein was light, not in a heavy sauce which was good. All the veggies and proteins were very fresh. The fish soup in hot broth was very good. The fish was tender but the only real flavor is hot chili... pretty one note, but if you like hot chili it's good. However it was also very hot not just spicy so it was hard to eat. It would have been good over some white rice. The food is good but the venue in general doesn't give off prosperity, at least during the day... things like a box of paper towels in the hall way and unpacking sodas and to go ware in the dinning area on the tables just doesn't make it feel very nice... but the food it very good. Feels more like a good take out place. Did notice a lot of door dash and it'd be good for a catered party. My kids also couldn't get over the AI rocker on the tv... Michael Bennett the AI classic rock singer. Overall I'd say this is a great to go place or place to pick up food for a party, just not a very nice place for a fancy sit down so the name is kinda confusing.

Pros: the portion size for the general Tso chicken at least was pretty good. It's not a lunch plate…read moreso obviously it's not meant for just one person. Nonetheless I ate a lot of it but there was still plenty to take home. Flavor and the type of heat was a bit different than I'm used to but overall I still liked it. Decent amount of tables. Cons: the pieces were inconsistent; there were pieces that had some decent crunch and pieces that had none whatsoever. Place could be a little cleaner and the menus could use some updating but nothing too crazy. Notes: they've been on my radar for the longest time and the one time prior that I came here I found out that they took General Tso off of the lunch menu. At the time I came just for that so it took me a while before I eventually came back. While I did say I liked the flavor, it's a bit less common than what I'm used to. Is that more authentic? I dont know just something to keep in mind.

Their entire menu is incredibly affordable (a la carte dishes are ~$12 and lunch special combination plates are ~$11 on average) with generous portion sizes. The general chicken is a MUST! Such a flavorful sauce. My order is not complete without this dish, there's really just nothing like it. I also highly recommend their spicy pepper ribs and mongolian beef. I'm pretty picky about chow mein and theirs is unmatched; I love the flavor and especially the thicker noodles they use. Service is always really quick, the staff truly treats customers like family, and the food comes out hot and fresh every time. It's an unassuming hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but such a gem! They have a loyal customer for life in me.

There…read morearen't a lot of great Chinese buffet options in the area, so I came in with reasonable expectations, and this place exceeded them. Before I get into the review, I think it's only fair to mention that I rate buffets differently than traditional restaurants. My expectations are based on other buffets, where freshness, consistency, food rotation, and value matter just as much as presentation. This feels more like a small, family-owned neighborhood buffet than a large commercial chain, and I actually think that's part of its charm. The buffet isn't huge, but I'd rather have a smaller selection that's done well than a massive buffet where half the food has been sitting under heat lamps for hours. I sampled most of the buffet, and overall I was impressed. My favorite dishes were the beef chow fun noodles, chow mein, honey pork, fried rice, teriyaki chicken, and the spicy chicken wings. The wings were especially good, they were nice and meaty with a great flavor and weren't loaded with fat like buffet wings sometimes are. Other solid choices were the sweet and sour pork, broccoli beef, and fried green beans. The only items that didn't really stand out to me were the vegetable egg rolls and crab rangoons. They weren't bad by any means, just average compared to the rest of the buffet. One thing that really stood out was how well the buffet was maintained. A staff member was constantly cleaning, rotating trays, and refilling food, so everything stayed warm and fresh throughout my visit. I never came across anything that was cold or looked like it had been sitting for a long time. The soda station was clean, drinks were self-serve, and the staff was friendly whenever I interacted with them. Most of the customers seemed to be ordering takeout rather than dining in, and after seeing the portions, I completely understand why. The takeout containers were packed so full they were almost difficult to close. For the price, the value here is outstanding. The only reason I'm not giving this place five stars comes down to presentation. The dining room itself is clean, but it's very simple. From the drink station you can see directly into part of the kitchen, and the plumbing underneath the soda and ice machine is exposed, which makes the restaurant feel less polished. I didn't see anything that made me question the cleanliness or food safety; it was more of an aesthetic issue than a sanitation concern, but it does affect the overall atmosphere. That said, when I judge this place as a buffet rather than comparing it to a full-service restaurant, the food quality, freshness, service, and value easily outweigh those cosmetic issues. Would I come back? Absolutely. If you're looking for an affordable Chinese buffet with consistently fresh food, friendly staff, generous portions, and flavors that honestly surprised me, M Kitchen Buffet is definitely worth checking out.

Saturday, December 27th, 2025, Approx. 12:57 PM…read more QUICK SUMMARY: Delicious Bang for the Buck. A definite try !!! It was a lazy Saturday afternoon after Christmas, and I wanted to try some new Chinese food in North Stockton. This venue had good reviews on Yelp & Google, so I decided to give this place a try and order take-out food. The menu had some daily lunch specials for under $11.00 and this was the route I took. PROS: - Had the Pork Chow Mein, House Chicken & Mongolian Beef. All were delicious. Was surprised at how spicy the Mongolian Beef was, but this was the best of the three dishes. The Pork Chow Mein was well garnished and visually appealing. The House Chicken had the most volume, but I believe that the chicken had been fried some time prior to my visit, and was warmed up / had finishing touches applied, upon receipt of my order. - While waiting for my order I noticed the tasteful interior decor, which gives off a nice dining atmosphere. Especially if one were only ordering a lunch special, it would be a great environment to enjoy your $10.95 & CA State Tax meal. - Further to the above, the prices are a BARGAIN in this era of high inflation. Even the non-lunch special items only go for $12 - $13 bucks. CONS: - The Fried Rice which came with the meal was below my expectations, as it only is white rice with soy sauce and fried eggs sprinkled on top. (See attached pictures.) NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: C'mon folks, I know that you're trying to keep overhead low, but this is not fried rice in any shape or form. Better to just serve white rice and not serve fake fried rice. CONCLUSION: If they had proved better Fried Rice in my order, I'd give this place 5 Stars. But for the price I paid for my meal, I was very satisfied. Thus. if you're in on Hammer Lane and want a good Chinese meal for your hard earned money, this place is an excellent go-to option.

People in my family also liked the stir-fried beef with wide rice noodles, kung pao chicken, and whole pieces of fried chicken. The one desert was sesame balls. You just walk right in, grab a plate, and start loading up. Once you sit down, someone will bring drinks. While there, many people came in for the to-go options.
