The Asian mechanics was nice enough, but the boss is an arrogant cheater that you should never do business with ever. The boss told me only at the time I picked up my car that he does not take credit card and it would be cash only for me. If I had known that before I would've never fixed my car on your site in the first place. If you don't take credit card, why did you post the credit card sign there? Dishonest businesses should not exist in San Diego! read more

I needed my AC repaired. My compressor went out. I got quotes for about $1350.00 from other shops. Then i discovered Sams Auto. They will install aftermarket parts that you bring to them. It cut the price in half. I believe the guy's name is Mike that worked on my truck. He had it completed in 4 hours. It is working great. Now im bringing my other truck to him. read more

Went in for rear breaks. Already knew there was an issue, but he still showed me what exactly was going on. Quoted me a $ the day before, and stood by that price. Super-fast service, and nice people. Highly recommend. read more

Nothing but positive things to say about Mike Came in thinking I had electrical wire problem he checked it out and turns out it was just a bulb I apologized so much to him for my foolishness since I can work on my car myself but electrical to me is super tricky but he didn't charge me for a replacement and was super nice and didn't talk down to me or anything or even smirk me for my dumbness; knock on wood but im glad i have found someone who i feel will do right by me when my car breaks down but he earned my trust and i'm definitely bring my car back to him read more

I will absolutely recommend this place. Since I got here in San Diego 4 years ago I have been a loyal client. Mainly because is pretty difficult to find honest mechanics and this is a place where you get the honest truth and reasonable prices. read more

I've gone to this shop three times, and every time I stop I get nothing but the best service. Mike is courteous, honest and knows his stuff. It's hard trying to find a good trusting mechanic, and i've definitely found that in Mike and this shop. I highly recommend this shop for your future car needs. Thank You Mike for helping me in taking care of my car! read more

There are bad businesses, there are good businesses, and there are those places where you just want to say "shut up and take my money!". Sams auto shop is a take my money kind of place. Drove by and it looked quiet so I thought I'd have them look at my AC since there would be no wait. I met Mike, who appears to run the place, and he is the man. Walked out with 4 separate problems being fixed and diagnosed and wasn't even charged for some of it. Had a chance to talk to him for awhile and Mike is just a good person. I will be back in the future. Also I need to mention another review I saw said this place was dirty. It's most definitely not, in fact it is one of the cleaner and more organized shops I've been to. Even if it was, who cares, it's a fucking auto repair shop. Since moving to so cal and reading a lot of reviews of repair shops, I have heard this complaint a lot. These aren't a Macy's; repair shops are places where dirty, greasy, and fluid-leaking vehicles come to be fixed... Rant aside, this shop is fantastic and they have my business. read more

I hadn't been here in over 5 years when it was still J&L. I am glad to see that Mike gave this place a full 180! Sam is extremely friendly, efficient, affordable but most of all, he is honest. It is very hard to find an honest mechanic these days. I am glad I came back, and I will be back again. Thank you Mike for taking care of my car today! read more

It's Monday 8/28/17, this mechanic that greeted me, Mike, just fixed my license plate lights for FREE and he was the nicest guy, I can't wait to bring my Prius back here for future work. I bought the bulbs, but I couldn't figure out how to install them. Trust is the biggest thing when it comes to our doctors or mechanic He quoted me $65 to install a pair of shocks which is totally fair.. I'm going to do that this week! Thanks Sam's Auto Shop! read more

This place is great, always friendly and very knowledgeable with pretty much everything about the car , I always bring my car here for oil changes or brakes or anything mechanically for my cars ... I always recommend this auto shop to all my friends and family . If you want friendly customer service clean and Fair prices this is the place ... don't go anywhere else where mechanics take advantage of customers because they don't know what is wrong with their car .... read more

Spoke with Mike on replacing my front struts on 2012 CTS, from the customer service, price quote, and repairs everything was spot on and reasonable. Repair was completed on time as stated and received many recommendations on upkeep maintenance. I will be using Sam's Auto Shop again. Thanks for everything. read more

I showed up at Sam's Auto Shop when my fuel tank hose was damaged and I had to take my car somewhere as soon as possible before my gas leaked out. It was a random, quick decision to go to Sam's but I'm glad I did. Mike was very helpful and he helped me understand what needed to be done. It took a bit longer than expected because Toyota had to send over the part but Mike was in touch with me every step of the way. I appreciate the open communication and that it was done right. Thanks Mike! read more
