Food was not very good, very disappointing as we looked forward to eating there. The servers are nice but the food took a while to be served despite not being crowded on a weekend morning. When ordering a hamburger, and given a cheeseburger, they took care of fixing the order by simply scraping the cheese off the burger and giving that back to us. If you wanted toast with eggs and hash brown, which is what a typical breakfast is, then you pay extra which is $2.50. Gross! We went for breakfast before a stroll on the beach. Despite not being crowded we waited over an hour before food was delivered. Then my seven year old reported eggs tasted like bleach. I tired them and he was right. Subsequent orders also tasted like bleach or chemicals. The salsa on my omelette was rancid. Hours later we all still have stomach aches. Pancakes are like hockey pucks. Management on site did nort care. We will be contacting the health department. Visit at your own risk. read more

Did breakfast takeout for the family and it was great. Generous portions and the food was still steaming hot when I got it home. This is the only place I know of that does shredded hash browns, which my wife and I love, and they were perfect - crispy and delicious! Kids meal came with a side of really fresh fruit that was big enough for all of us to share. Coffee was not great and came in a styrofoam cup but it was steaming hot and stayed that way. Sammy's is a great basic diner. Portion sizes are just right not to weigh you down before a day on the beach. Staff is friendly, attentive and accommodating. Food was very good, fresh spinach, not canned and fresh squeezed orange juice! Only negative was that syrup for pancakes was very watered down, especially the flavored ones. The food is good and cheap. My gripe is the service...especially the manager that worked on July 4th. Some kids (late teens early 20s) left a wallet on the table. When they came back, it was gone. I know...irresponsible on their part. But all the manager needed to do was look at the security camera. The manager wouldn't because he was too tired. Now, these were kids, they ate there, paid their bill without any disrespect. Why did the manager really not check the security camera? Did he know who took it? Did he because he was lazy and figured he would teach the young punks a lesson? What lesson did they learn? How about a person in authority owes nothing to anyone. Great lesson taught. They appear to be best known for breakfast. It had a diner kind of feel to it. If you have kids, this place is downright awesome as mine were served for free. The food was ok. That was about it. Our order took 45 minutes and this was for breakfast! There's NOTHING fast about this place. It's pretty hard to screw up breakfast orders, yet they did. For whatever reason, hash browns and fruit take longer at Sammy's and they offered to bring it AFTER we ate the majority of our breakfast. I don't blame the waitress, I blame the kitchen staff or more so the manager or owner. They seem totally incompetent and you could see this by watching the wait staff seem totally overwhelmed trying to pick up orders the kitchen folks were handing out. I saw a lot of stuff being sent back, etc. Like other Yelper's mentioned, our waitress didn't really check to see if we needed anything either. However again she was overwhelmed. I give it a one star for the young girls that work as hostess and waitress; they were very quick to assist and very nice. The breakfast combo of eggs, bacon & sausage patty was terrible. I ordered eggs over medium they came brown on exterior and extremely loose, meaning too hot of a grill and not cooked long enough. The bacon tasted like stale lard and the bread which was suppose to be toast tasted like microwaved bread. Basically just ate the patty to kill my hunger. The menu was pretty decent and I think I understand why a lot of folks were frustrated. Best way to approach the menu is to just order the items as they are. Adding any add-ons will likely increase to charge more than one expects. I do agree with another review that the pancakes were a little rubbery but they were still decent. I enjoyed that they had turkey sausage and turkey bacon which tasted similar to that offered by IHOP. We stayed at the hotel attached to this diner for a week and ate at Sammy's almost every morning. The food is cheap but tasty. The service is fast and friendly... Perfect for kids! We made the mistake of eating at the very popular breakfast/ice cream parlor close to the boardwalk once (Royal Treat). It was so slow and over priced. Once our food arrived, we barely had time to eat before our kids completely ran out of patience. That experience really made me appreciate Sammy's all the more! Sammy's Kitchen is located a few blocks off the main strip in Rehoboth. This little diner is open 24 hours a day, all year round, making it a great choice whatever your schedule. They have lots of menu items, but they specialize in breakfast and that is what we were there for. My wife ordered traditional breakfast items, but I was in the mood to try their crepes (with a side of bacon.) The crepes are rather thick, almost pancakes, but they are stuffed with a three-cheese blend including cottage cheese. They had a very interesting texture and flavor, not too sweet and going very nicely with the (optional) fresh strawberries sprinkled on top. The bacon was cooked perfectly, crispy without being overdone. If I spent a week in Rehoboth, I could see going here every day. read more

Do not waste your time! Microwave bacon, eggs, sausage. Our food was cold and the servers were rude. We could not eat more than a few bites and wasted $50.00. She would not let my mother in law order from the kids menu so she spent $10.00 on toast and fries. My husband was charged for extra cheese for his eggs and didn't get any cheese at all. The menu includes Eggs Benedict, Fruit and cheese blintzes, chicken fried steak or chicken, crab omelettes (and every other kind), pancakes, Belgian waffles, eggs any style, hash browns, scrapple and so on. The staff is very friendly (and very cute). I've never had chicken fried chicken (with three eggs and buttermilk pancakes) but it was great at $8.99. My wife had a Western egg white omelette with pancakes and that was very good as well. Coffee was very good with endless refills. The place was modern, clean, and nicely decorated. This place has pretty decent food... I've been here a few times now. Today I had the biscuits and gravy. It was good but not super authentic. Pancakes were good as well. The coffee was typical diner coffee. I like the fact that the whole place is booth seating.... But the service is what holds this place back. I watched as our waiter stood by the kitchen and laughed at YouTube videos with his coworkers before even attempting to come take our order. My fiancé actually had to get his attention....
