I loved the way this place was decorated, the inside looked super nice and had a really good vibe. Definitely a 10/10 on the atmosphere and setup. But the customer service honestly threw me off a little. It was my first time there trying something new, so of course I had a few questions, but the cashier acted like I was bothering her just for being curious. That kinda killed the experience for me. Now the food itself actually looked pretty good, so I can't fully judge the menu yet. The only thing I ended up ordering was one of their sauces, and honestly... it just wasn't it for me. The taste felt off and I wasn't really feeling it. I probably would've stayed and tried the actual food, but with the attitude and overall customer service, I just didn't even feel like sitting down and eating anymore. Stopped in to B.R. It's only right I grabbed some boiled food!!! I went with the turkey necks, shrimp, corn and potatoes. The boil itself had a pretty good taste, I just could've gotten a LITTLE bit more spice. The butter however wasn't my favorite. Taste like the butter was marinating or blended with some type of seafood stock, gave the butter a bad taste to me. The people behind the glass was nice but I waited an extremely long time to have my order placed, so I'm going the service roughly a 3/5. The ambience Is pretty laid back and chill! I was really excited to try this place and it didn't live up to the hype that I was expecting. The seafood seemed to all be boiled in salt water and left to sit there until someone orders. It's definitely fast, but I wonder how long food will be out until it's swatched out since it's kind of like buffet style. I was disappointed to hear that they use the same tongs for everything so my food sensitivity wasn't accommodated. The sauce is an extra $0.69 and it was definitely spicy. We also ordered fried catfish and that was surprisingly good. If I was ever craving it, I would come back just to order the catfish. Since crawfish is now out of season (August), they were really small with very little meat. That's not really on the business since they can't control that. I can see the crawfish being a good spot once it is in season. The bathrooms are a little rough. One of them doesn't even lock and it's really sticky. We ordered 2 sauces of their "Cajun butter" on the side (.89 a piece). It came out on top so we sent it back, but it wasn't very good regardless... we traded it for their "garlic butter" which also wasn't very good. The crawfish was cooked very well, but VERY salty. The eggs were boiled perfect, and the potatoes fine as well. They seemed to be on the pricier side per pound but the deal was 49.99 for what we got. Overall, the taste was just not there for me. We went to Sammy's Crawfish King based solely on good reviews from other folks. There were four of us, but have never been there before. The crawfish was good, but the variance and size with such that it didn't seem like they've been graded. Also, some seem to be seasoned different from others, which made me think that they mixed a couple of different boils. In all fairness, we met her at 4:15 PM, and I figure they were just getting ready for the evening rush and what we were having was what was left over from what they prepped for lunch and early afternoon. That's OK, they had a lemon garlic sauce that was out of this world for dipping corn and potatoes. We were disappointed that they were out of mushrooms, both fried and boiled. They had a crazy seafood selection, including crawfish, shrimp, and snow crab, all of which look good. I did like the fact that they had a 3 pound crawfish platter with two potatoes and one corn, as well as butter and dipping sauce for $14.99. The indoor space is relatively small and very noisy. They were playing hip-hop music for a while and oddly switched over to a religious channel where we got to listen to an evangelist for a while and then they switch back to hip-hop. They had an outdoor seating area this actually covered and has substantial seating. The place is small and quaint and they always have specials that give you more bang for your buck. Everyone is super friendly and they don't skimp out on quantity and quality of their seafood.
