I have driven past the tiny salon countless times and I assumed when I saw their "unisex $12.99" sign that the quality must reflect that price, so I've never considered it. Well, now that all my former reliable budget shops are pushing $30 for a hair cut, I decided to give Samir's a chance. The interior looked just about how I expected. It's tidy, but not polished. Sam is friendly, and fast and cut my hair like I requested. Just to clarify, the price is $12.99 and up. A zero fade, beard, eyebrows are an upgrade and run a few dollars more. Sam has been cutting hair for 40+ years. He's now cutting the hair of the grand children of the kids he started. For the price, this place is a gem but I have a very basic cut. Sam is a very nice and friendly guy. He's been cutting hair some 40+ years now. He was cleaning and sweeping when we arrive to his tiny place. I took my nephew here for a cut. They chit chat while I walked. By the time I returned, he was done. His hair cut looked good until closer inspection revealed some lingering hairs where it should not have been. Nothing glaring that a scissor would not fix. Still should have been done right while there. I suppose you do get what you pay. Street parking. read more

Stay away from this place. He told me he'd give me an amazing haircut and touted his 47 years of experience. But he butchered my haircut and didn't listen to what I was asking him to do. I told him to clean up the sides and he shaved off the front top part instead of just making it flat up the side. Seemed like he did this in spite since he was trying to cut my hair the way he wanted it instead of the way I asked. Never coming back here again... and the he argued saying he already did it right the first time. Next time instead of talking too much listen to what your customer is saying. read more

bait and switch. my regular cut was $10. After a couple visits, the same cut now became a "style" and up'd it to $15. My hair is simple. No wash. Just Bzzzz, snip and go. Takes him less than 10 min...once it was less than 5 min. Wanted to help him out but will go back to my regular stylist in a nicer shop for the same price with a wash. I know it's hard for everyone, but it'd be nice if he knew it was hard for me too. I'm not trying to save a couple bucks just to be cheap. This guy doesn't care at all. No detail and rushing, he finished my haircut in 4 min literally. He almost kicked me out of the chair to do somebody else's haircut. He did the worst job ever, I had to look for another place to fix it. Not even the parts where he used the machine were even. The sign says $9.99, I gave him a $20 and he just gave me back $5. Went to this so called haircut for men place yesterday. He is worst "barber". He said he was cutting hair since 12 year old. I don't think he still has a license. The place is very cluttered. Well. You get what you pay for here. $8 for a 5 fun crappy haircut. The owner Sam is nice but he was eating beef jerky when I came in and never stopped chewing and talking in my face. Was pretty disgusting. I asked for a high fade and he just runs the clippers almost all the way to the too of my head with a number 1 then combs all my hair into a fohawk and cuts down the middle. He couldn't even get my sideburns the same length. One was a full half inch longer than the other and I had to ask him to fix it. I'm actually on my way to find another place to see if they can fix this hack job. read more

I've had $5 haircuts better than my 1st (and only) experience here, so the low rate is no excuse for the hack job he did called a haircut. I currently have buzzed hair (short all around), so there are very few ways one can mess up. However, this guy (Samir) managed to. First of all, when I called before I came in, his first question was "who gave you my number?" in a sort of rude tone. Umm there's this thing called the Internet? Unfortunately the favorable Yelp reviews let me down this time. Then once I got there,before I even sat down, he's like "where are you from?" , definitely not in a friendly way either. Almost like he was expecting a certain answer and I didn't match his expectations. Seemed like he was rushed the whole time. Barely spend like 6 min or so. He also didn't put anything (tissue/towel) around my neck to keep the hair from going down my shirt. So my entire lunch and car trip home, my whole chest,back, etc were itching from all the hair all over my body. Came here after seeing a sign that showed $7.99 hair cuts and thought to my self, how good can a $8 haircut be? Pretty bad, like really bad bad. I think I could of paid my 8 year old nephew to cut my hair and he could of done just as good as Sam. He spent a total of 3 minutes stabbing me with his hair clippers and 1 minute cutting the top of my hair and another minute combing it. To think that I just gave Sam $8 for 5 minutes of his time and only find out he made me look like a fool after I explained to him that I was going for a job interview the next day. My girlfriend ask me if i had tried cutting my own hair and I said no. She then took some pictures of my hair and said that it looked really bad and I should go get it fixed. Yeah, the hair cut is only $7.99. Cool! This guy is pretty nice over all. No complaints there. The only reason I'm rating this gentleman poorly is because every time I have gone here, approximately 5 times, he always leaves my hair all CHOPPY looking. I don't know if what caused it is the cheap old scissors he has been using since the 70's or something, or maybe is just his type of skills. I kept going here because of the cheap price, but after a couple of tries he just leaving my hair all uneven and choppy looking. One time I decided to tell him what I thought about my hair cut and I asked him if he can kind of fix it a little bit better, and this man got offended right away. Not cool! I have gone to MANY places to get my hair cut, and not that many people have the skills and the right tools to make it happen. Cutting hair sounds easy, but it is not.
