I drove 28 minutes from a small town south of Jackson in hopes to try Bangkok Thai Restaurant, however when I arrived I couldn't find that establishment. I passed Samila twice looking for the other Thai restaurant thinking I had passed it up. Something dawned on me that it was no longer the case. Upon walking inside, I was immediately greeted by a smiley guy who nervously happy with a few sweat dots on his forehead. He hastily informed me that Samila had been opened for two days and Bangkok Thai was out of business. He asked if I was dining in. I gladly said takeout to get back home to my dog. I briefly sat down and looked over the three page menu. Prices appeared to be reasonable. I went back up to the counter to order, the fried tofu appetizer and green curry. Within minutes, my food was ready and the gentleman handed delivered to me. As I walked to the car I noticed the bag quite light. When I got into the vehicle, I observed that my order was wrong. It was only my green curry with steamed white in the brown paper bag, however, my fried tofu wasn't present. I went back inside to notify the guy at the counter. He said, "Ohhhhh" and "oops". He thought I wanted fried tofu in the green curry as a protein and misunderstood that I wanted additional side order of fried tofu too. I told him it was fine and reordered then paid for the appetizer. Within minutes, it was ready. The guy at the counter opened and showed me the giant pieces of fried tofu. To my surprise, I wasn't expecting them to be so large in size with so many pieces. A lot of places are quite skimpy on their portions. The man reassured me that's how they normally do it and don't cut them up like other restaurants. I was thrilled to get my money's worth, $7.95 for fried tofu that was fried golden brown. Not bathing in grease. After driving home, I finally ate my meal. Everything was delicious! The fried tofu was crispy and had a good crunch to it. The batter was well seasoned and held the tofu in place. Not soggy or too wet. The curry was very good. It had the regular coconut milk based with all the vegetables. Thick smooth broth. It made how I like it. Very tasty. Next time I'm in the Sip, I'll be swinging by. They are good for vegans.

The Crab Rangoon, Boom Boom Shrimp, and Pot Stickers. I forgot to take a picture before we started eating.

The food was delicious! This is the best customer service I ever had! The ambiance is great.

What a Treat! The new owner is super friendly and eager to get customer input. When we try a new Thai place, we always start with the Pad Thai and another dish. I was craving curry, so I went with the green curry. Both dishes were GREAT! I cannot wait to go back and try additional dishes. I asked the owner about the Jungle Curry, and he brought us a sample to taste. It was very good, and I will definitely order it in the future. It has a fish-based sauce rather than a coconut. I was worried that it would not have a rich flavor, but there was no need to worry. It is full-bodied, spicy, and oh-so good. This is my new favorite Thai place in the metro area.

. The food was very delicious. The server made me feel very much at home and felt very great to be around. Highly recommend!!!

We had a variety of small plates and everything was awesome. Especially the roti in the appetizer section.

My husband's drink was huge and my Chai tea was . exceptional--the tea stood out from the spices--making me realize I need to upscale my brand of chai. The samosas were homemade and delicious, The chef stopped by and based on his recommendation, I ordered the Stir Fry Eggplant. It was wonderful. (I just ate leftover eggplant for lunch, and it was even better the second day.) Beautiful blend of spices; I imagine I'll be craving a repeat soon. We shared 2 additional entrees: tandoori chicken and chicken Shahi Korma. My husband liked these meat dishes. but in my opinion, Indian cuisine shines brightest in the vegetarian options. Next visit: Palak Paneer & Aloo Baigan Madala.

The restaurant was slightly dim. I liked that. I don't like very bright establishments. The buffet was off near a wall. There was light music playing. The atmosphere was relaxed and nice. The restaurant was extremely clean. I ordered the Chicken Biryani (forgive me if I've spelled it wrong. I can never remember the spelling) and samosas. The chicken biryani was $17.99 and the samosas were $6.99. There was a considerable wait. I was there for a while. Its probably better to call in or place your order online first. The Chicken Biryani was different than what I'm use to. There was quite a bit of thin brown liquid at the bottom of the rice and I did not like that at all. The plate tipped and the liquid all poured out into the bag. The biryani was good. I had it with medium spice. However I did feel the sauce could have been thicker. I'm use to having it with either a thick sauce almost like a stew that comes with it as well as bigger pieces of meat. However this Biryani was different in that the meat was almost like a minced meat. There were tiny pieces of finely chopped chicken. Not those larger pieces I'm accustomed to that's served at Spice Avenue off of I55 in Jackson. So the juice at the bottom of the bowl and the tiny minced pieces of chicken I wish were different. I also wish the dish would have had a lot more of a robust flavor. When you mix in all that liquid it kills some of the spices. I've had biryani dishes that were bursting with flavor. This dish was good. But something was lacking. I'm sure it was the meat and the lack of a robust stewed like sauce with the meat. The meat in their biryani tasted like it was boiled in a flavorful water. Not stewed in a thick hearty robust sauce. The samosas were ok. I'm use to them having more flavor as well. I mean they were good in a way but the taste was a little off (I'm not sure where the tartness or the very slight vinegar taste comes from) and they also used a seasoning I'm not familiar with. So I ate one and had no interest in eating the other two. Also, the samosas could have used a bit more spice. Last, the young girl serving at the front did fine. She was attentive. I tipped her $3.00 cash. But she had a very peculiar way about her. As I was swiping my card I looked up suddenly and I caught her eyes. She was staring intensely at me and the look wasn't pleasant. It was a dirty look. Almost as if she was put off by me taking so long to swipe my card. You know the look when someone mean mugs you. When our eyes met she suddenly smiled awkwardly and the smile did not appear genuine at all. However I overlooked her and took a seat to wait on my meal. When one of the door dash workers came in I also caught that nasty glimpse from her staring at the door dash driver. I was watching her intensely at this point and I was watching her eyes. The eyes are the gateway to the soul. Or, as I would like to think, the heart. If you're a hostile, mean, nasty person.. it's hard to hide this in the eyes. I don't know this young lady. Again she was attentive. But the look she gave me (before quickly and awkwardly smiling at me when I caught it) and the door dasher tells me in my gut she's probably not a very kind person. Or she's condescending at the least. Overall I give the food and service a three.
