Went to Thai Bistro in Brandon for lunch today. Very quaint place that does feel like a bistro. I decided to venture from what I usually get at Thai places (noodles or curry) and ordered the spicy basil leave stir fry with tofu, spice level 3. I eat meat but for some reason I prefer tofu in my Thai dishes. The soup wasn't as good as you get at other thai places but the egg roll was delicious. I don't know what I thought I was getting with the stir fry but it wasn't what I was expecting. It was good and the spice was open-your-sinuses hot (which I like) but I realized I should have gotten the fried rice dish instead. Lesson learned for me. As I was back in my hometown, my parents recommended this place so I stopped by for the pickup order. As I walked in it was a nice comfy looking place and the server host was instantly welcoming and kind and helpful. The vibe seemed good even though I was only there for a couple minutes grabbing our to-go order. The food we ate at the house was all delicious. We each all liked every single bite. Super clean. Nice updated decor. Very friendly staff. My server was new and not as knowledgeable but she owned it and asked questions to ensure she was correct. I had the lunch special. The egg roll was hand rolled, crispy and scrumptious. The soup was so good. It reminded me of the soup Surin used to have. I was trying to make better choices so I got the stirfry cashew chicken and shrimp. It was good. But looking back, I wished I had gotten a curry or a pad thai. Let's face it, stirfry food doesn't have as much flavor. It had quality chicken and shrimp, fresh veggies.... it was tasty . Can't wait to come back with the hubs. the order incorrect...my family loves eating here. I asked for a simple chamgr and she was very feisty. Very very angry very rude. Refuse to change it and then I told her that I was gonna leave the whole order. Finally, she goes to the back and communicate with the others to explain what had happened. I told her she was very rude. I told her that I couldn't have any pineapple because I'm a diabetic. I continue to say it over and over again and she said for everyone to hear I don't care. I told her I was going to leave a review on service because the food is always great. I was so embarrassed. She is the owner and the manager from what I've been told. No one wanted to direct me to anyone in leadership. Right before I came in and she was telling a group of customers (inside my hand) how she loved them. But the customer service is absolutely horrible I was missing multiple parts to my order I asked if they could honor they said absolutely next time you order we will take care of you. My wife and I have eaten here several times, she consistently get the chicken pho and I have tried several items. My favorite is the pho as well, with orange chicken being a close competitor. All items are made at the time of order and you can select the level of spice from 0-5, I found level three to be tasty and still able to share. Finally, some quality food around Brandon! (not counting Mudbugs). Back in the 90s and early 2000s we had Shanghai, which was good Chinese buffet food. Since they closed their doors we have been saying how nice it would be to get some good asian food in/around Brandon (technically Pearl) and its finally here. They care about their food and it shows. Lo Mein, Pad Thai, Crunchy Shrimp, Chicken Labb all very good and we are looking forward to trying more. read more
