This is my new favorite Thai restaurant! It is so delicious and has different options compared to other restaurants around the area. The daughter who works there was so kind and wonderful. For us, it's about 25 minute drive, but it was worth it. Everything we had was very flavorful and delicious. I don't love cheesecake, but this was so amazing. It's made out of yogurt which gave it a great texture. Definitely going back to try some other items. read more

I have been a fan since the day they opened. Consistently quality food fresh and hot. Excellent seasoning for the first time we tried the Laht Na with chicken and crispy noodles. It really doesn't look like much when you pass by (small strip mall), and it's a little bare when you walk in. But think of it as minimalist, the less stuff there is, less surfaces for dust and germs to hide on. What they lack in decor, they make up for in food presentation and taste. It's amazing . Fresh. How did I get so lucky to have Krua Thai open so close to my house? Could be the best Thai in Jax Metro! I ordered takeout, Vegetable Lo Mein, Vegetable Curry and spring rolls. My only regret is that I wasn't able to eat it all. For me the curry is the real Thai test, and they nailed it! I'm a spicy whimp so I ordered mine mild, but if you a a spice spartan, ask them to turn up the heat. The inside is very nice and clean, they did a great job working with the space they had. When you walk in you can order takeout at the counter on the right, or wait to be seated on the left side if you are dining in. After placing my takeout order I went outside to sit in my car and wait, within 6 mins an employee was walking out to my car to deliver my food. They were so friendly and so fast!! Ok. I'm updating a couple of great reviews I've given Krua Thai. Dropped a star for one reason which I discussed with the restaurant but sometimes a Yelp review gets a little more attention. The "starter" or "appetizer" for their lunch menu needs an upgrade...bad. It is and has been forever a small bowl of soup and a small salad. This is fine except for one thing. The soup is really awful. Just a watery tasteless bowl of some bouillon with a few green onions on top. It automatically starts your meal off with a bad experience. Thai soups (normally) are wonderful and not really expensive to make for the most part. They were a great starter at the old Surin restaurant and still are at Zapp Thai. It's the reason many folks go or did go to those restaurants. So, just saying. Take this for what it's worth and maybe a few more reviews like it will spur the management to offer a really good starter which will complement their great entrees. read more

As I said we went Friday night, there was no wait, probably because people are still discovering this hidden gem. At present, they do not have a sign but they are adjacent to Tony's Tamales. So my husband and I love Thai food and this is probably the closest one to where we live. I've been wanting to try it for awhile now. I wish I could give it more stars but sadly I can not. Here's why: 1) the environment was not that great. There were random Thai/Asian items thrown around along with some pictures on the walls in various places( I'm pretty sure I saw at least one of those at TJ maxx). One of the TVs was on and it was showing a boxing match while the other one on the wall I was facing wasn't on. ( The waiter said it turns off sometimes, however he never turned it back on) the overhead music was top 40. Needless to say there wasn't much ambience of Thailand going on in my opinion. But what do I know? I've never been to Thailand. 2) For the environment, their food is WAY overpriced. The curries start at $16 and if you want seafood it's even more. I think what really got me was that when I asked if they had brown rice i was told yes( yay) but I was not told that it would be $3 extra. It was like 1/2 cup! I've been to fancier places with cheaper prices. 3) the taste! Now my cashew tofu stir fry was great, but my husbands pad Thai did not have enough sauce. It just tasted hot. When I finished my dish we poured my sauce over his noodles and then he ate it happily. I should NOT have to fix his dish for him. In short with all the new Thai places popping up I'm not sure I'll be back to this one. Props to the waiter though. He was great and our food came out fast. THIS PLACE IS DELICIOUS! We are so fortunate to have a restaurant of this quality in our area. Our favorite's are the red curry with chicken and fried rice (MEDIUM is just right - we like spicy but the HOT is very hot.... can't imagine THAI HOT) , lo mein noodles with whatever protein of your liking (they are all good), and egg rolls with pork. Dessert.... homemade cheesecake! The only thing that could improve is the ambiance for dining in. Maybe music and the lights more dim. Everything else is perfect! read more

My family has been eating here for years and I can't believe I hadn't posted a review until now! After a trip to Thailand in 2012, my wife and I had been looking for authentic Thai cuisine in nearly every city we visited. Nothing came close until Krua opened their doors. Since then, we've done our best to explore the menu (which is hard because our favorites are our favorites because they're perfect). Each time we visit, we each get an order of crispy tofu. Every time I've had it, it's been fresh, perfectly cooked, and deliciously crispy...EVERY TIME! My wife will sometimes have the grilled fish salad with salmon. Every time it is cooked perfectly and there are never pieces of wilted lettuce and the other veggies are fully ripened and fresh...EVERY TIME! The curries are always well balanced with spice (be careful), sweetness, and savoriness...ALWAYS! Oftentimes, for dinner, I get the Thai Eggplant. The seafood sauce with shrimp and crawfish is excellent! And, again, the eggplant has always been perfectly fried. The wait staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and they've never been too attentive or not attentive enough. I guess what I'm trying to say is that every bite I've taken has been consistently great. I've never once felt like I didn't get my money's worth. Honestly, if I were to take a blind taste test between Krua Thai and food from a restaurant in Chiang Mai, I'd never know the difference. read more

This place has decent Thai food. I'm not a huge fan of the pad Thai, but my boyfriend likes it a lot. I usually get the cashew chicken with a medium spice and it's always delicious! I had to lower the stars because even though the rice is good it's such a small portion. Also I called for a catering estimate and they don't seem to just sell the rice by the half pan. They wanted to charge me a per person fee for a half-pan of fried rice. I wanted to just pay for a full half pan in hopes that it would be enough to feed 4 people since the large is barely enough for one person unless eaten as a small side for two. read more

as a frequent Thailand traveller I'm addicted to the food. I tried this place with a Pad Thai and Chicken Sate take away. The Sate was okay but the Pad Thai far below par. Yippee! Hip hip hooray! A new Thai place is in town. Have you been yet? I started simply with the shumai. I'm use to it being seafood only but this one has chicken and shrimp but mostly chicken after opening them all up. I don't eat meat so I unfortunately only had a bite (didn't pay close enough attention to the menu and totally my fault). Pretty tasty though. Lol. I also order the crab fried rice in medium spice which almost took my mouth out. I can't imagine what the really spicy version would taste like but it was still really very good. I would order again, just without the spicy. Lastly, if you check it with Yelp, you'll get a free Thai tea or coffee. The Thai tea is the best out of the other local spots. I need to try more of the truly Thai items to see if I'm still feeling this spot. So far, so good.
