French Toast Bistro - Beignets so light and airy!

This place is a nice size, they have an outside patio area for the nice days. Our waitress was super nice and on point with service. Ordered the 9oz Tropical Mimosa and it came in tall glass and was very good. I ordered the Jerk Wings, they were good but the sauce was more of a habanero spice that was too spicy for me. I also had a side of the collard greens that were a little too sweet for my liking and I tried a cup of the Gumbo that was very good and flavorful. My daughter got the shrimp and grits they were amazing, she also had a waffle and it was good. The waitress gave us two beignets for free since it was our first time. My daughter said they were good. I will most definetly go back to try other items.

I've been to the French Toast Bistro location in Plymouth more times than I can count - even before…read moreit became a brunch place solely. The Canton restaurant is newer but just as popular. There was a long line of customers, but the wait was tolerable, barely 10 minutes. The restaurant is much larger and brighter; the large windows allow in more light. Service was quick, allowing more customers to be served. My rule for dining out is to select dishes I don't make well at home due to a lack of skill or ingredients. So here, it meant a lobster omelette and pancakes. Yes, I'm a failure with pancakes, despite the numerous, numerous times I've attempted them. One, I rarely keep milk at home, and two, my pancakes tend to burn. Sigh. The pancakes here are fluffy and delicious. I even liked the fake, thick pancake syrup served here. The omelette was savory and well-prepared. My friend had the baked French Toast, which looked appetizing and dessert-like. Service was quick and responsive.

A very cute café with easy parking! We got there early on a Tuesday. It wasn't real busy. The…read moreservice was great. We had a really good waitress who was very attentive and friendly. My husband and I just ordered the blueberry pancakes because you get three huge ones and order of sausage which was another four. He also wanted eggs and it was all delicious and perfect. The blueberries are inside the pancakes where they should be and they added some on top. Also, loose fresh blueberries. And you know pancakes are good when you can just use butter and no syrup.! I do that at first but later use a little syrup to top it off. We loved "Jonny cakes"and we highly recommend it.

After some time of waiting, they continued seating multiple groups that came in after us taking the tables of 4 that were available. They even seated the couple behind us in line at a 4 person table. I asked the hostess about my group and if I should take them elsewhere as they kept seating people behind us in line. She responded and said "it will be more time for your group. Looking to get tables close to each other". I told her that the reason why we stuck around was to get seated and was fine with splitting, as already discussed. Another table got sat ahead of us shortly after this conversation happened. My group instantly felt disrespected and not welcomed - which led to our group unanimously voting to leave. Unfortunate experience. Maybe just caught them on a bad day.

This was a busy day even though the weather was a bit frightening. I do recommend making on-line reservations to ensure your seating. A couple of issues on this visit. Listed on the kitchen specials, they mention two entrees that have blue cheese crumbles, I asked for some for my Hudson salad and was told they don't have any. This confused me. I am not sure If they are exclusively for those two entrees, the server was possibly mistaken, or they can't use the item for any other purpose. It just seemed odd. My Hudson salad arrived without turkey, I noticed it and the kind waitstaff brought the turkey so I was able to dump it on the salad. Unfortunately, the salad did come with a blond hair. I was so happy another person in my party noticed it on my fork before it entered my mouth. The French toast was very pleasant but I wasn't sure if the price of 16.00 was right for this entree. It seemed like a lot for what you get. I do appreciate the warm syrup! That's a nice touch. We tried the house made Corned beef hash and it was as delicious. Overall, the meal was good, the service was also pleasant even though they were busy. I give credit to the service team for being nice with a lot of customers. This visit wasn't as spectacular as my last, but still a sound experience.
