However, Richard and I discussed my problem over the phone, and he went out of his way to check to see how old my appliance was, and advised me that economically I was better off just to purchase a new appliance rather than try to repair. It was such a ray of sunshine to be able to speak to someone so honestly and not take advantage of a trip charge knowing I was better off just to purchase a new appliance rather than try to repair. I had a very frustrating experience with Affinity Gas regarding a water leak issue on my tankless…read morewater heater. I initially called them because water was collecting on top of the unit. The technician came out on February 2nd and diagnosed the problem as the intake pipe, saying it was taking on water due to its slope/location. I paid $155 for the diagnostic and an additional $150 to have the pipe cut/adjusted. I was told this would resolve the issue. That same night, water was still dripping down and collecting on the water heater -- the problem was not fixed. I called them back within their 30-day warranty period to recheck the issue. This time, I was told the real problem was actually the exhaust pipe, which they said was not glued, was the wrong type of pipe, and was no longer code-compliant. They then quoted $1,600 to redo it entirely. My concern is that if the exhaust pipe was visibly incorrect and not glued, this should have been identified during the original diagnostic visit, especially since venting was already being inspected. I was not even asking for the original $150 repair to be refunded -- I simply expected the warranty visit to be honored. Despite this, I was charged another $95 just for them to come back and tell me it was a different issue. Charging an additional service fee when the initial diagnosis was incorrect and the issue persisted immediately feels unfair and unprofessional. I expected better troubleshooting and accountability, especially after paying for a diagnostic and being within the warranty window. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend based on this experience.

Their tech, Joshua tells me the blower motor is bad. Cost to replace over 2K. After some slick talking he convinces me to drop 9K on a whole new system. Thankfully I got bad vibes and called Babiones. Two techs arrive promptly (within 3 hours). The lead tech, Jeremy says the motor is fine but it was not getting a "call" AKA signal to ramp up. He does some diagnostics and finds a bad thermostat ($260) Big difference in price!! Basically Mid Fla was unethical and dishonest. They did many other unethical things but you read about their tactics in my review about them on Yelp or Google. This is about Babiones and as I said at the outset they are honest and ethical. Sad to think that in the heat of the summer companies like Mid Fla prey on seniors on a fixed income. Hats off to Babiones. I intend to find the biggest megaphone I can and spread the good word.
