Their flavors for the most part were right, portions are small, and prices are high which contrasts for its norm, since this is street food in Singapore which would cost 3-6$ a plate. Would recommend a more Peranakan decor to make this place feel like Bugis in Singapore. Hainanese chicken rice- good chicken, soup was way too salty that it was nota drinkable at all. Rice was right flavor but wrong texture. Maybe the certain rice can't be found in UK. Seafood Chow fun- I was actually impressed with the chow fun part that charred part and the oily noodles that require high heat and high oil to make it that texture. this dish was good. Would highly recommend it. Chinese leaf- just dressed up Napa cabbage but well done. Salt and pepper shrimp were also not bad The hakkien mee was good but was a little sweeter than what I remembered from Singapore. Overall an ok place- If you've not had Singapore food before this is a good pricy intro to what's ahead.

The staff were nice enough to let us eat and sit in the restaurant. It's a pretty big restaurant but has an odd empty feel to it. The food is average with your typical Asian style dishes. I enjoyed my meal which was very filling. Apart from the awkward entrance, pretty decent restaurant. 2.5/5

There was a tiny misunderstanding over the change (their mistake, not mine), over a silly 5p, but the way it was handled by the server could've left a much better impression on a customer. But, as I said, he didn't seem to want to be there, and I was just taking up his space and air and a nuisance to him. There were three tables seated, and two servers, so you couldn't exactly say that they were busy... The order was finally ready after a 45 minute wait. And the verdict on the food? Meh. The portions were small for the prices they charge, and the taste was bland. Their one saving grace is the fact that they're located inside a hotel, a convenience for hotel guests who don't want to venture far for food. I certainly won't be back.

This is the place if you want absolutely legit Malay food in London. The eating establishment (I'm…read morenot calling it a restaurant) is located about 8 minutes walk from Bayswater station. It seats about 30 persons and is furnished in a no-frills way similar to coffeeshops or hawker centers in Malaysia and Singapore. But rest assured - the place is clean, so is the food and the food handling looked appropriate. It is located in the basement of some economic accommodation hosted by the Malaysian embassy so they do specify that this is for Malaysians and their guests though they don't really check IDs. But the menu is in Malay and you do have to understand what food you are picking out as there is no printed menu or pictures so this 'advisory' makes sense. I had the nasi campur while I was there - 1 fried chicken drumsticks, a piece of egg omelette, acar, white rice and teh tarik. You had about 16 dishes to choose from. Everything looked and tasted exactly as I remember it in Singapore and Malaysia, right down to the yellow stains on the fingers from the fried chicken. It was wonderful. They also have items like nasi goreng (fried rice), Mee goreng (fried noodles), roti canai, nasi lemak rendang as well as Malaysian desserts. The prices are incredibly reasonable (my meal cost me 6.5pounds) so it must be one of the cheapest eats in London. In summary, absolutely worth a visit for Singaporeans or Malaysians craving Malay food and, for non-Malaysians looking for authentic Malay food, go find a Malaysian/Singaporean friend and go!
