I've been everywhere from small town offices to the Cincinnati Children's hospital. Of all the rheumatologists I have seen, Henderson is by far the absolute worst. As others have stated in their reviews, Henderson is extremely rude and dismissive of patient concerns. During one of my last appointments I explained to Henderson that my joint pain was increasing, to which he informed me I had no red swollen joints and the pain was in my head. Wonderful. I am still in significant pain. I am supposed to receive infusions every six weeks for my illnesses. However, Henderson's office consistently fails to submit my preauth documents on time. Every time pre auth season comes around, my meds end up denied and I have to fight with Henderson's office to get docs submitted to my insurance. I have never in my life had so much trouble getting a doc to submit forms. As of this writing, I am roughly one week behind on my infusions due to Henderson's inability or unwillingness to submit my preauth documents. In my opinion, it seems Henderson has become comfortable treating geriatric patients with simple osteoarthritis. Unfortunately, treating an RA patient with multiple diagnoses seems to be beyond Henderson's skill level. Anything other than a simple prescription request seems to be a huge annoyance for Henderson and will result in criticism or gaslighting. This is unfortunate since there are not many rheumatologists in this area. If you have rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, or any other complex autoimmune or inflammatory diseases, I would highly recommend you hold out for a different practice.

I felt he listened as I explained my somewhat odd symptoms, His exam was brief but complete, he ordered labs right fro the visit, and he helped me determine a good follow-up plan for me. I found him pleasant and responsive to my questions.

Usually that suggests the doctor is very good at their job and in high demand. Since this is one of two Rheumatology offices in the area you literally have no other options. The medication for auto immune diseases can be very hard on the liver so to make patients wait months in between for blood tests could potentially cause liver damage yet they don't really seem to care. The doctor also does not seem to be very knowledgeable about certain autoimmune diseases and symptoms that come with the disease.
