After concluding a full visit complete with a follow-up appointment, I'm happy to report that I've had the most positive experience with Casey (PA-C) and other staff at this location, and I certainly hope this is just the beginning. ++ Casey was courteous, thorough, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and patient. Mindy, medical assistant conducted the first part of my physical exam, then Casey took over the rest. She truly took her time and paid attention, and the visit couldn't have gone any better. Lab in the same building, and the staff was efficient and friendly. This was also the first time in a long time where a blood draw didn't cause massive bruising. Thank you! I've been seeing a resident at LewisGale Physicians Family and Academic Medicine - Valley View. This is the worst health care i've ever received. A resident miscoded a visit Medicare should have covered but didn't. The resident's supervisor did not respond to my email in their system. The billing department said they'd help me on multiple occasions, eventually comprehending that it was miscoding, but they did not succeed. So I'm out hundred of dollars and haven't seen in a general practitioner in over a year. read more

Went in to see "Dr." Voekler for heavy, productive cough,trouble breathing.. She diagnosed me with post-nasal drip and made me think I was overreacting. And she never put a stethoscope to my chest. In respiratory distress, I made an appointment with my sons' doctor at Parkway Physicians. The doctor had an immediate x-ray done; my lungs were full. Turns out I had pneumonia, not post-nasal drip. How can a doctor make that kind of mistake? read more

Chrystal has been taking care of me since 2012. My family now sees her as well even though our home is an hour away (I started seeing her as it is close to my work). Chrystal and her staff are always friendly, thoughtful, and very thorough. We always feel listened to and never feel like we are being rushed through the visit. I went to see Chrystal Bishop for the first time. She was personable enough and likeable. However, I had lab work done. The labs came back abnormal. With one lab result in particular suggestive of a serious health problem. I was never contacted by Ms. Bishop or her office staff. When I contacted them I was connected to a nurse who read my lab values off with the speed of an auctioneer. When I stopped her and expressed my disappointment in not being contacted about these abnormal labs, she replied "that's why you have a patient portal." At that point I asked her to have Ms. Bishop call me. When she did she asked "what can I do for you?" I replied I would like for you to explain my lab results to me. She did. She did not mention the lab that was the biggest concern for me. When I asked her about this she replied you are absolutely right yes you should see a specialist. She took no initiative to assist me with my healthcare. I have been in the medical field myself for 21 years and I have never treated a patient this way. This is unacceptable. For someone else who may not have had a background in medicine this could have had a much worse outcome. read more
