This is definitely one of the best hookah places I've been to in the city. The place is always clean, the music isn't too loud, the servers are very friendly and they make sure that everyone gets the best experience possible. Definitely a place I'd recommend. read more

I came into Chicago on a work trip and was looking for a hookah lounge and was easily impressed with the service and quality. Shoutout to Gurry for making my visit A1! read more

The premier hookah bar in Chicago. The vibe is amazing and it is a really great place to be. Being Pakistani descent finding the flavor Paan is really hard to find. They have it! They have every flavor and combination you would ever need. Best place to be to watch NBA, NFL, MLB and other games. I've been to many hookah bars in Chicago but this one is a hit and it is my go to! Great Service from The Employees to the owners! If you are ever in the Chicago Land area come here! Won't be dissapointed read more

Absolutely fucking ridiculous! Our waiter was the worst. Only adjective he could use to describe the flavors was fruity. And he couldn't make half of the flavors. The package came with 5 flavors and 5 drinks. Over 2 hours, we got 2 flavors and our drinks right before our reservation was over. When we went to order our other flavors he brought the wrong one. First n last time here... read more

Atmosphere? CHECK. Deliciousness? CHECK. Cool Factor? CHECK. Can't wait to visit Chicago again just so I can make a stop here!

The service is real chill. So i forgot to bring my form of identification; all I had was a college ID but I am about to turn 20 in a week. The guy let me slide this time. The flavors are really yummy. The mint and the Nelson Mandela are so deliciously good. We also each get a free drink! But don't try that peach drink . "It tasted like armpit sweat" based on a friend. But he replaced the drink with something better. Thank God. read more

Super great vibe. I love the back rooms. They're small, but relaxing and are separated with curtains that set a good mood to smoke to. There's even one in the far back that has a (fake) fireplace. The staff is great and friendly and they almost always have board games and cards to enjoy with a small group. I personally think it's a better hookah place than habibis! read more

I enjoyed the environment of this hookah lounge was really great. Gurry is the best!!!!!!!!!!

This was a delightful hookah experience from approaching the counter all the way to paying the bill. I ordered one of the chocolate/caramel/cocoa flavors and it was AWESOME. The hookah tasted great. Although I may not be a hookah conosoisseur yet, I'm approaching that status and I could tell that they weren't using cheap, low-grade Egyptian tobacco. The hookahs themselves seemed pretty sturdy although they might have been the cheaper Egyptian hookahs. The staff was smart enough to make sure the bowl at the top was covered the entire time and I received timely refills of my coal. The hookah and service here were both excellent. read more

I wanted to do this basically when I got back from here. So I went with my significant other on a Saturday night, and shockingly enough, it was not crowded, but I don't think that's totalyl typical. The environment is GREAT. So relaxing, so chill! Adam was the server of the night and he is absolutely AMAZING! Very nice guy! For the hookah, we got Mr. Freeze, which is blue mist, vanilla, and mint. VERY. FREAKING. GOOD! And it's a plus that they had board games and everything there! Perfect little date night for us. I think the only thing that makes me not wanna put 5 stars (though this place totally deserves it) is that toward the back, where, in my opinion, is very comfy and just relaxing, is that it's really cold. Especially in the woman's bathroom! It was as if the AC was running back there. But overall, this place absolutely rocks! Decent price, amazing service by Adam. Hopefully the next time I go back with my significant other and friends that Adam is our server! Keep it up! read more

On the one hand, I had a Nelson Mandela blackberry blend, a ice tea/lemonade, and a spinach pie. On the other hand, I doubt that Mandela was more disrespected in prison. This hookah bar is in my neighborhood so while I appreciate that it is a typical example of a hookah bar with nothing missing would it hurt to redecorate it so it isn't so ugly to spend time in. The host, if that's what you call him, needed to be taught a point: a customer who spends the kind of money hookah bars charge can smoke until the hookah runs out of tobacco. read more

Gurry the host/server was the absolute man of the year. We were here for the labor day weekend and mans provided astonishing hospitality to my friends and I. We ended up here 3 nights in a row solely for him. Definitely recommend this establishment if you want great shisha, music, and service read more

I've been to this place three times and every time was a great experience. Even on Saturday, which is one of their busiest nights, my friends and I still managed to get excellent service. And I love their choices in hookah and I think they're decently priced for what they have. I'm sure this place has become the go to place for Hookah for me :) read more

First and foremost, this place is well kept and clean and the menu is extensive and clever. The private nooks are perfect for relatively large parties and the service is friendly and prompt, plus the hookahs themselves are very clean and pull well. Ben is also the best hookah bar server I have ever had and he really pushed the evening from fun to fantastic. I will definitely be back. read more

Pretty good service and board games available. Prices are not too bad either. The only thing that left a bad impression was during checkout. I knew from the menu and previous reviews that they automatically charged an 18% gratuity. However, they still asked for extra tip at the end. I almost ended up paying double the tip and had to ask if the total included the gratuity. He sort of mumbled under his breath and I had to ask again for clarification. That felt very shady. read more

I never post but i had to for Samah... Been smoking Hookah for 10 years, been to every Hookah lounge in Chicago, and this is by far the best place you're gonna find. Gurry provides the best service, so hopefully you get Gurry. Comfortable, great vibes and atmosphere, great music, great TV, and most importantly, the Hookah is INCREDIBLE. read more

If you looking for a friendly vibe, outstanding service, and great hookah this is your place. Definitely recommend coming here.

Place absolutely sucks. Service is slow as helllllll. The server had absolutely no knowledge of the hookah flavors, and it's just..no good. Don't waste your time, much better places in the suburbs. read more

Easily the best hookah lounge in the area. The warm atmosphere and the friendly employees make this place so enjoyable, not to mention the hookah itself. The employees are very persistent with making sure yourself and the hookah are all doing good. Samah has definitely earned my business for many years to come. read more

I ordered a fruit head, the orange was so small but the hookah hit pretty smooth. You don't really need to order a hookah to smoke here because the place had the worst ventilation. Although the chairs and ambiance was comfy and chill, the smoke made me feel sick and I left earlier than I had planned to. read more

My first hookah in Chicago and the guy made it the best so far, I've been to more than 10 hookah places around Chicago but this one is still the best. read more

Came here with 5 friends, made a reservation. We waited twenty minutes before the waitress appeared. She wasn't very friendly, We attempted ordering and were told that most of our choices were out of stock. Coals were never changed, and one flavor tasted like a cleaning agent. At one point after getting a new flavor, our hookah stopped pulling. Took ten minutes after we asked for her to come. She didn't check on us throughout the night, and was rude most of the time when she did. Giving it two stars because the private areas are really cool and comfortable. I've had better experiences here but I doubt I will be back. read more

I went there today the service was extremely nice and friendly however, THE HOOKAH IS TERRIBLE. Obviously they are mixing the apple with other different taste. If you must go however its enjoyable. read more

Love this place. Chill atmosphere & great shisha flavors. I have many wonderful memories of relaxing @ this place with good people & good hookahs. read more

1) they don't clean their hookah (i smoke hookah regularly so i know what is clean) 2) i ask for tangelo in fumari but got something totally different 3) never was offered any type of customer service 4) this place needs lots of cleaning read more

Well. This is two reviews of 2 servers Dion, really nice guy. Helped us , a party of 7 find a comfortable seat after there was no room left in the back. If you see this Dion, please tell that other lady with the accent to be more friendly. When we first got there she didn't want to seat us because we were late for a reservation. Then Dion helped us out. Just because she had a bad night doesn't mean she has to kill everyone else's night. But the hookahs... They were alright. I didn't enjoy them as I usually do. After a little while I stopped smoking. Hopefully if I do come back, it'll be better. read more

Good , clean , open layout . This is my first visit . I plan to frequent as it ' s accessible via public trans .

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I just had a terrible experience at this place which is sad because up until the end of my evening, I was having a nice time! I had just gotten a hookah refill about twenty minutes earlier when the woman who worked there told me that she was going to close in fifteen minutes. This was at 1145 PM. When I pointed out that their hours go until 1 AM, she said that when all the customers are gone, she is allowed to close. Wtf? Was I not a customer?...a customer who had JUST paid for a refill that I then barely got to enjoy! When I pointed this out, she said that they have a 2 hour limit and I had been there for over 2 hours, which she made no mention of to me for my entire stay or anyone else for that matter, as everyone I saw was there for over 2 hours. It was very disrespectful to treat a customer as if they are unimportant and kick them out just because it is no longer crowded... no way to do business. I felt strongly that I deserved a refund for the refill I had just gotten, but didn't even bring it up as I was uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. Its so sad, because this place is right by my house and the atmosphere is actually pretty nice, but I definitely won't be returning. read more

PROS: Chill environment, lots of flavors, and not too pricey. CONS: Not enough cushions to sit on, luckily when we went it was pretty dead so we grabbed cushions from other stalls but seriously, add more cushions!! The number 1 reason why they get 1 star is because of the service. Like I said, when we went (last weekend) it was fairly empty. There were 4 of us, and one larger group of about 10. There was only one employee working, a shorter, petite girl. We sat down and it took her about 15 mins to approach us. Then another 20 mins for us to get our 2 hookahs, then another 10 mins before she brought us our water which we had ordered with our hookahs. The mouth pieces they gave us don't fit on the pipes, I asked her if they had other ones and she said no. Why have mouth pieces if they don't even fit?? It was a pain holding onto it and smoking. We never got checked on after getting our hookahs, she kept checking on the larger group because the guys kept flirting with her. We were sitting right across so we could hear everything. After about 30 mins we needed new coal and since she wasn't coming around I got up to get her. She followed me towards the back where we were sitting with the new coal.....and she replaced the larger group's coal and not ours. I was shocked, I KNOW she knew which group I was from. And not only did she replace their coal and no even acknowledge us, she stood around talking to them for a good 20 minutes about going to SoundBar afterwards and blah blah blah. All the while we sat there and stared. I again approached her as she was speaking to them and asked if she can please replace our coal as we are about to leave and would like to enjoy it for a bit longer. She said "yea I'll be right there" and continued chatting/flirting with the other group. I get that this is a crappy hookah lounge in a crappy part of town but seriously?? You can't at least do your job first and THEN flirt with customers?? I don't even understand why they only have 1 employee working on a Saturday night but whatever. Won't be coming here anytime soon, and definitely not if she's at the counter. read more

Great place. Not like any other hookah lounge in Chicago. Brand new hookahs are really clean, nice TV's and you have rooms you can play Xbox and PS4 in. So many different kinds of tobacco that you can try. Amazing tea !! read more

This place was great, honestly. I met some friends after work late one Saturday night. When I walked in the door I was impressed with the comfortable looking couches and the ambiance. The guy behind the bar told me they would be closing in 30 minutes but I was welcome to stay until then. I thanked him and let him know I was meeting friends and he directed me to the back area of curtained "rooms". Inside the curtain rooms there were pillows and a table to set the hookah on. The room right beside ours was huge and even had a fireplace in it so I am sure they can accommodate large groups. We left our room right when the bar was supposed to be closing but the guy that was running things that night probably wouldn't have made us leave for another hour. He seemed like he was enjoying waiting on everyone. There were still several Loyola student groups in the back rooms when we left so he definitely stayed open late for the people that were having too good of a time to leave :) read more

I got excited to see they had tangiers but the server said "they were all out". Which made me think the guy had it and didn't know how to pack it properly. So I got double apple instead which is hard to mess up. Instead of a grommet to seal the bowl, they used foil? Paper towel maybe, but foil seemed so amateur... Hookah was gone 20 minutes in with a terrible pull from a super small hose, and spent about $26 with tip for 10 puffs and a soda. Not worth it. I had to ask every time for coal, and it was hard to get his attention when he was watching the tv. read more

Horrible service, came with some friends from school. Slow. Girl working there is rude. Walked in and no one greeted me or even came to ask me ANYTHING for at least 20 minutes. Coals were only changed once, people working there were just standing around talking to each other? When I paid, no thank you, just attitude from the girl because the chip on my card was being slow or something. read more

Pretty cozy place. I've gone twice and enjoyed myself. Lots of flavors and just an overall good vibe.

Super understaffed. Want to complain about how slow service was but the man was working as fast and still maintained excellent quality of the smoking experience. Didn't get the guy's name but he was cool. Every area was filled the whole 2 1/2 hours our group was there. Very flexible with us changing our reservation. Definitely no where near as nice of a setting as the Samah on Clark. Average hookah bar. Make sure you make a reservation so you can have a cool room. read more

Deon provided great service. He's humble, down to earth, accommodating, and friendly. We will back to see him and we enjoyed our evening. Many thanks! read more

Worst service ever! We ordered a hookah and right from the start we could taste the nasty charcoal, and the waiter was lazy cow, evertime we called for her it seemed like she was doing us a favor! And all she did was smoke hookah herself and watch tv! Worst hookah place ever, better off going to other places... read more

I want to give this place 5 stars. But they can really use a makeover. A phone call from that lady on "Love it or List it" wouldn't be a bad idea. Besides that, the service was great. The waiters are cool. The smoke was smooth. I dig this place. read more

Great atmosphere. The floor seating in the back can be made semi private with the help of drapes. Lighting is great. Shisha flavors are plentiful and the staff really knows their stuff. They use coconut coals. No nasty insta-lights here. Would have given 5 stars if they weren't out of Tangiers tobacco. read more

I LOVE this place but... I love the Samah North and the one that was on Clark (RIP.) This place is great, it has great ambiance and music selection. Most importantly, the flavors are always great, and prices are always perfect for the average college student. HOWEVER, sometimes when it's busy, it get to be too much for only ONE waiter to handle. On busier days, they should really get at least one other person to help. I know there's someone named Adam there who is always helpful with the selections. But too often, I have to find him after an hour when out coal is long gone and he's forgotten our drinks. (Not to say he's bad or anything like that; he's still always very polite.) Another server I've had (who worked on Clark as well) named Dion is always helpful an polite. He's also very good about checking on us with out coal changes and just always a pleasure. Another issue I've has recently, it the temperature. Now that it's winter, inside Samah gets to be ridiculously cold during the winter! Three times already I've went to use the restrooms, and was able to see my breath because it was so cold. The rest of the lounge was pretty cold too; I didn't take off my coat or gloves for 2+ hours. i totally understand that it is in fact cold as hell outside, but when you come to sit and relax for a few hours, you don't want to be bundled up in your coat the entire time. Hopefully, these things can be easily fixed as I do plan on going back there regularly. With a blanket of course. read more
