Sam Smith Park is a quiet community park tucked away in the Winter Springs/Tuskawilla area. It's small, but good things come in small packages! The park has two playground structures, a pavilion, and a walking path. There's a pond towards the back of the park with a bench under some shade to sit (I see this as a great meditation spot). Everything is easy to access. My family brought some food we picked up to-go and had a little picnic in the pavilion there one morning. The trash cans and bathrooms were close by, so clean up was easy! Visit Sam Smith Park if you're looking for a relaxing park to play or relax in Winter Springs!

The Sam Smith Memorial Park is a neighborhood that is well maintained and loads of fun for children. They have two areas for age appropriate fun. There are all of the usual play equipment with a nice sun shield over top. They have a large pavilion with a grill that you can rent for large gatherings. Their web page will direct you rental dates and fees. There is a small lake behind the playground that does not appear to be taken care of. It's smelly and has stagnant looking water.

In memoriam Sam Smith Park is a little park tucked away in a residential section of Winter Springs. I couldn't find out much about Sam Smith except that he died in 1998 and he had this cool park named after him. Someone must of liked Mr Smith quite a bit because this is a very pleasant little park. Not exceptional large, certainly not a place for a hike but it is so well maintained that it reminds me of a golf course. There are two cool playgrounds, some walking paths, drinking fountain, picnic tables and benches, grills for cooking and a little lake that people can fish at. Everything is so neat, clean and well maintained. Looks like nobody has ever used this park but from what I have heard it is a very popular place for parties, family reunions and picnics. Even has an exercise boot camp here. A nice little park that sparkles with it's clean and neat appearance. A cool place to keep the memory of a special person alive.

This beautiful and well maintained park offers an array of recreational amenities. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the basketball, softball, tennis, and racquetball courts along with a soccer on the multipurpose field. As a nature lover I enjoyed the many boardwalks with views of the lake and the sidewalk which meanders through the entire park. It is perfect for walking for exercise and I saw the cutest marsh rabbit as I made my way through the park. There are also two fishing piers. Kids will spend hours playing and on the two imaginative playgrounds. Secret Lake Park is also home to the recently renovated Casselberry Recreation Center which has a main room, ballroom, billiards room, computer room, outdoor deck area, activity room, and outdoor pavilions. The recreation center offers many programs from youth to senior. They include exercise, yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, and dance classes. The park is also the host of several beloved Casselberry traditions like the HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest, Art & Music in the Park & Food Truck Bazaar, and the Casselberry Easter Egg Hunt. I really enjoyed my visit to Secret Lake Park. It is the perfect outdoor recreation destination for families, fitness seekers, and sports lovers. Basically, a battle of the local rock and roll bands - a variety of different members from different bands come together on two teams for one day with a purpose to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tickets are only $5, bring a foldup chair, 10x10 tent, a cooler and it's a great time watching all of our friends compete with one another on the field. Torcaso Cove Park is a great place to hold this event. There is a spacious field with plenty of space on the sidelines for fans. There are several parking areas available making parking easy for large events. There was plenty of space for a half-time show with live music right by the field. There were also a BBQ vendor and several other vendors on site selling food, jewelry, and other items. The park has a public restroom, a playground, splash park, sand pits, plenty of paved walking areas, a picnic area with tables, large pavilion, a beautiful bridge that crosses the heart shaped cove, the park has a bunch of Muscovy ducks waddling around and is dog friendly, what else can you ask for. Nancy and I really enjoyed our time at the park, we will definitely be back to bring our dog and take a nice walk. I just have to mention that it was a bit muddy on the field, even on a hot sunny day. So be sure to wear something you don't care about getting dirty.

Merrill Park is a lovely little gem of a park that is nestled in the heart of Altamonte Springs, FL…read morenear the Altamonte Mall. I found out about this park because I came with my wife, our son, and our granddaughter for a playdate. The park is home to the Altamonte Fast Pitch Academy and Babe Ruth Softball. They have three full size softball fields that are used for the softball academy, for Babe Ruth Softball, and you can also use them to practice on as well. Located between the three fields is a concession stand and the restrooms. What I really lived about this park is the three playground areas they have, each playground has their own set of things for kids to play on and a different theme for each area. They also have a swing-set area which includes a swing that you can sit in with your child and be able to swing together. There are also to pavilion areas for you to choose from one is called Oak Pavilion and the other is the Beach Pavilion which has two beach volleyball courts for you to play volleyball on which is a nice touch. Lastly I love the scenery of the park it has lots of great looking trees around the park. So if you are ever in the Altamonte, FL area and you want a nice secluded park to take your family to then I would recommend Merrill Park.

Although the restroom aren't the best at least they are real working bathrooms! The park was well maintained and clean and this Saturday we went, quite busy. There is ample parking nearby and a fitness trail leading from the entrance into the park. Overall a great find and so close to Altamonte and I-4! I've driven around the area many times and never knew this quiet park was tucked away amongst the trees!

This lovely neighborhood park was named in honor of Wilson Phelps, a Chicago businessman who toured…read morethe area in 1874 and purchased land east of Lake Osceola for a citrus business. In addition to growing citrus, Phelps sold lots to fellow Chicagoans and mentored Loring Chase and Oliver Chapman into turning this largely unsettled area into an upscale winter resort. Phelps, acting as a one-man chamber of commerce, provided the basis of the promotional materials used by Chase and Chapman who marketed Winter Park to wealthy northerners. This nearly six acre park, in Winter Park, provides both natural beauty and recreational opportunities. One of the nicest features of this park is the playground that was rebuilt in 2021 by Kompan Design with input from area residents. This playground was designed to improve physical, cognitive, creative, and social development while fostering imaginative play and friendships. Other park amenities include basketball courts, tennis courts, pavilions available for rental, restrooms, picnic tables, and outdoor fitness equipment. There are also two hardcourts for pickleball. This park is fully fenced for safety and is beautifully landscaped and it is close to downtown Winter Park where you can find shopping and dining options. This park is the perfect place for a morning stroll, a birthday party, play, or a picnic. Phelps Park appeals to all ages. Community Parks don't come much nicer than this one.
