As someone who typically spends 2-4 nights a week out on the deep sand courts of Merrill I suppose I have to be a big fan. I love Merrill primarily for the fact that they have 3 fairly well maintained sand volleyball courts and they host sand leagues. Love it! My only complaint is those pesky softball tournaments they like to hold. When those are in town you've got to hike it from your car to the sand courts because you'll be parking all the way out by Publix. The park rangers are really nice and definitely make us gals feel safe when we're leaving late at night. If you like sand volleyball and can play, this place is awesome. Make sure you're up for the challenge though because this sand will swallow you alive.

Well shaded park with large playground on a hill overlooking two of the three baseball diamonds. Parking lot is about a 30 second- 1 minute walk away from the playground. Bathrooms in round building central to baseball diamonds. Big kid swings are one one side of playground, toddler swings on the other. Small covered pavilion (four tables) is central to playground. Several benches and picnic tables dispersed throughout the playground area. Also see a few small BBQ grills.

Love their volleyball league! Everyone that runs it is friendly and very communicative. Love the courts especially because they have lights.

This beautiful and well maintained park offers an array of recreational amenities. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the basketball, softball, tennis, and racquetball courts along with a soccer on the multipurpose field. As a nature lover I enjoyed the many boardwalks with views of the lake and the sidewalk which meanders through the entire park. It is perfect for walking for exercise and I saw the cutest marsh rabbit as I made my way through the park. There are also two fishing piers. Kids will spend hours playing and on the two imaginative playgrounds. Secret Lake Park is also home to the recently renovated Casselberry Recreation Center which has a main room, ballroom, billiards room, computer room, outdoor deck area, activity room, and outdoor pavilions. The recreation center offers many programs from youth to senior. They include exercise, yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, and dance classes. The park is also the host of several beloved Casselberry traditions like the HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest, Art & Music in the Park & Food Truck Bazaar, and the Casselberry Easter Egg Hunt. I really enjoyed my visit to Secret Lake Park. It is the perfect outdoor recreation destination for families, fitness seekers, and sports lovers. You can go for peaceful stroll, play basketball, or watch the kids play safely. The scenic lakeside views, comprehensive recreational programs, and variety of amenities add to the charm and versatility of this park.

However, it's only $10 now that I have my own life jacket (saving me additional cost of $5 to use one of theirs, as required). Well worth the low cost for some soul-enriching, communing with nature. I have never made a reservation. I normally arrive around 10:30, most recently on a Friday. Parked for free on Baptist Camp Rd. Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. A reservation will guarantee your entrance, however, and possibly aide quicker personal info collection. I always plan to do the Emerald Cut in roughly 3 hours round-trip, allowing myself several stops to enjoy the surroundings. You do run into (quite literally at times) novice paddlers along the way, which can be a bit tricky, yet not a real nuisance for me. In general, there's friendliness along the waterway. Slighty rowdy, party vibes in some spots, but also opportunities for solace and zen in various nooks. Encountering wildlife, fragrant elderberry, and other captivating flora along this stretch is always gratifying. It's a popular recreation destination for good reason.

A few things knock the stars down: - The amount of rules/ regulations is a downside. There are more than any other river we've visited in Florida. It's nerve wracking to make sure you're following every new rule. - Launching and landing at the dock is stressful. It feels rushed and disorganized. - The bathroom situation is DIRE. They have a few porta potties but they're pretty gross. - I've found some of the staff intimidating/ borderline rude. There are a lot of newbies to kayaking/ paddleboarding so patience is a virtue at busy times! It's a hard paddle up stream and coming back it can be easy to lose control around the corners. There are a few spots to be cautious of other paddlers. With that said, it's really stunning. They keep the area very clean and there are a lot of spots to pull off to the side to enjoy the view. I've never done a guided tour, but I've heard they're really well done!

They're working hard to make this gym very competitive in the Central Florida area and compete with gyms like Orlando Metro. The recreational classes weren't as challenging as I would have liked, but I assume it's hard to find a ton of skilled gymnastics coaches and most of their best coaches are focused on team practices and privates. However, I'd recommend starting with a recreational class to actually gauge your child's interest. If they enjoy it, I'd add on a private lesson to truly help with particular skills. I think Legacy is a great gym to get kids started in competitive gymnastics. We love our three Bronze coaches and I've heard all positive things about Silver, Gold and Level 5 and 6 coaches as well. The only area I see for improvement is the one on one time gymnasts get in practice because there are a lot of girls per level. If you're looking for a ton of one on one coaching, you have to supplement that with private lessons (or find a much smaller/elite gym).
