Great park with tons of grass areas and things to do for families. Great for birthday parties as well. My only issue is the larger Play area seems a bit too risky as everything is an obstacle . Today 4-5 children fell or were hurt playing on the larger play area. Seeing a child fall from the top of the space was terrifying but thankfully he was ok.

I love this park, it's never too crowded but there are always some kids playing. Well kept, very clean. The kid LOVES all the climbing stuff.

I've been outside a lot more at parks and playgrounds in 2020, and Phelps Park is another great one on my list! The park is right in the middle of a neighborhood in Winter Park. There aren't very many parking spaces in the lot but I think you may be able to park off the side streets if needed. There is a playground, tennis courts, and basketball court. The coolest thing about this playground is that it has two large wooden playground structures as well as a newer one. There's something about the fun of a wooden playground; the thrill of playing hide and seek inside or maybe it's climbing to the top and pretending you're king or queen of the castle. There are swings, slides, and a huge rock for climbing as well. Amenity wise, there is one set of bathrooms and one water fountain. The covered pavilions were taped off as of September 2020 due to the pandemic but there are benches. There is a bit of shade from trees to help with the heat. Phelps Park is a nice find for its playground in Winter Park!

Wonderful spot big fenced and super nice neighborhood so felt safe. My little girl made a friend here and got some artwork crashed her birthday party. It was wonderful.

Phelps Park is located in a neighborhood. It has tennis and basketball courts along with a playground, picnic areas and a large pavilion. Bathrooms are available and there is plenty of paved parking. They recently updated the playground and have lots of fun activities for all ages.

Our son loved Thai park. We were staying in the area and our little guy needed a playground day. He loved climbing and running. The big slides were his favorites! Plenty of benches to sit and relax, great shade. We wanted to find the other playground that has a huge shaded canopy over the play area but didn't know where it's was located in the park.

Omg!! What a beautiful, quiet park! It's inside a neighborhood so not a lot of traffic was going on. 3 parks very close to each other.

Lovely Park. Has a real "park" feel with various jungle gyms, tennis courts and a basketball court! Stopped here this morning to let my puppy get her energy out so I did not have to feel bad for ignoring her while I worked today =) The moment we pulled up it was immediately welcoming with various joggers, other dog walkers and 2 kids (w/ a coach it appeared) practicing their foul shots ;o) They have various benches, shaded areas and even bathrooms. They have grill areas and there were signs up for what days the areas were booked for gatherings. It is an extremely well kept park and I had a lovely morning with my pup here =)

We were over by that side of town eating when the baby started going crazy so we immediately had to find a park. We came across this one and it was pretty sweet. It was open and there was plenty room for kids to play as well as most of it being shaded. Great park for little ones and others wanting to run, play basketball or play tennis. We definitely will go back if in the area again.

Cute park hidden in the neighborhood. Fairly quiet for all the people there. Didn't notice any dogs so not sure if it's pet friendly.

You'll also find shaded picnic pavilions and a community garden. My son absolutely loves coming here. The neighborhood and the park is named after one of the earliest property owner's daughter's favorite novel, Lorna Doone, written by English author, Richard Doddridge Blackmore, published in 1869. Lake Lorna Doone was the site of the South's first integrated Little League Baseball game on August 9, 1955. The 1955 little league season was the first after US Supreme Court rulings had eliminated "separate but equal" conditions in the nation's schools and public parks. The Pensacola Jaycees were declared winners of their local district by Little League headquarters in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. When local officials would not allow them to play against the all-white teams they instead advanced to the Florida State Tournament which was held at Lake Lorna Doone Park. They ended up losing to host Orlando in the second round, 5-0 but they were welcomed by the hometown crowd and given encouragement. In 2021, 12 acre Lake Lorna Doone Park underwent an $8 million renovation. Added to the park was the nine hole Arnold Palmer Putting Experience, fitness stations, a playground, football fields, basketball courts, a splash pad and the Winnie Palmer Nature Trail. I especially liked the nature trail where I got to see native plants and wildlife. With the upgrades, this park now has all of the amenities needed to inspire a healthy, active lifestyle for the West Lakes families who live in this neighborhood and all who visit.

While it is a lively park and can get busy from time to time, especially on the days the run/walk clubs are there, it is usually a nice park to visit solo and enjoy the peace of the surroundings offered. There is more than enough open green space and a good amount of seating throughout the park. The park also maintains various courts/area for various sporting events like baseball, volleyball, soccer, and various other outdoor activities. As far as proximity to other areas, this park is also located a short distance from the shopping and food eateries in Baldwin Park. So, after enjoying a great workout or just strolling through the park, you can pop over to Baldwin Park for some food and beverages. The only challenge, at times, is parking. Parking in this area (in general) is just tricky; however, there is street parking throughout the neighborhood near the park as well as a designated parking lot for the park itself. However, you can also park throughout the Baldwin Park area and just walk to the park from there. Before I close this out, I've gone to numerous events in this park as well, so it is great for hosting various community events (of course, with the proper permits, etc.). All in all, Blue Jacket Park is really just a great park.

Now it's a park with recently added plaques and statues to honor its past.
