The BS review of 2/8/19 was UNTRUE and UNJUSTIFIED! It was written by a person who had no right to do so. He is not the owner, that is not his business and he is not even a legal tenant. He did not have any input or authority regarding the H/Vac installation and contributed nothing positive to the event. We, Panache Enterprises in Farmingdale,NY are the actual owners of that property. That store and others that we own have been serviced by Sam Mechanical as part of a very long and totally satisfactory relationship. The BS remarks were so full of misstatements and inaccuracies that the list of corrections would not have fit in this space. We need very little space to state the simple truth: Sam is more than merely reliable. The staff is knowledgeable, skilled and dedicated to the satisfaction of their clients.There was no time wasted on a day when, with temps around zero, they put a squad of technicians in the store and on the roof doing everything possible to quickly install a new system tailored to the tenant's stated needs. There was no coercion and nothing shady-just a total understanding between landlord and contractor. The freon may have been a little sluggish, the motor a little slow at the start due to the bitter cold., nothing more.They showed up under horrible conditions and their performance could not have be better. Without our request, but lots of noise from BS, that same cashier, SAM still made repeated visits to the site always patiently explaining how to correctly operate the equipment. The cashier contributed nothing. Neither did the tenant. The staff at SAM were so understanding that they worked everything out for us,with not a single complaint. We have since given them an additional work order for another property as we were 100% certain of the same excellent result. read more

One word TERRIBLE. Poor workmanship and does not properly stick to plumbing code nor does he care about your satisfaction! ...and is quite expensive!!! Provides a worthless written warranty that he (Steve) does not stand-by. They make plumbing mistakes and then cover up by saying that the matter was intentional and then wants more money to fix it. He also does not stay on the premises and delegates the job to non-licensed people which is not allowed. He put on my circular pumps backwards and then says its intentional. if I could give a negative star I would Steve installed a new hot water heater ($6000) never tested. 5 months later It went into lock out mode was without hot water for a few days waiting for him to call back to make appointment. Never did. but he automatically wanted to charge me $250 saying it was an oil issue. When I said how can you charge when you haven't even looked at it, it could be something that's covered under warranty. His response call someone else. I called someone else they came within two hours to find out it was the wrong nozzle and he never tested to calibrate the unit. What can I say about Steve Morroun!!! You are a life saver! We haven't had our AC system work all this summer and was suffering. We called Steve and he came right over to diagnose our system. We had a couple of knuckleheads that came to try to fix it, but made the system worse. However, Steve came in as a highly experienced professional and solved the issue! Sam Mechanical: Reference to Air conditioner unit bought thru Sears. The owner showed interest in the job but the workers showed up the day of installation. They installed unit and left my house and one of the unit head was not leveling and also forgot to open the valve in the compressor i have to call them back finally comeback and speak to his workers about unit not level they said is fine is the roof, them less than a year on june 11 they had to come back to re-hang the unit that was falling from the wall and had a mold smell inside my house, beside they do not proper vacuum and charge the air conditioner unit properly with freom and now unit is freezing up, building ice in the coil, really tired about the situation and i hope this time they accomplish the job so i don't have to deal with this company which i didn't hire from the beginning. SAM mechanical installed our central ac from sears. The owner is so helpful and very knowledgable. All of his employees did a really wonderful job. They got here by 8:30am and were done by 3pm. Everyone cleaned up after themselves and the ac works wonderfully. I highly recommend them for all of your heating, ac, and plumbing needs. read more

Frauds- will be reporting. Called for service for a central air unit- told that freon could be replaced that would cost $300 because it was reporting as empty but since they couldn't "guarantee" it would fix the problem - their grand advice that cost $150 for them to show up was to spend $6,500 on an entire new unit. No suggestion of repair that was actually accurate provided. I paid the service fee in good faith assuming that I was actually being being given a proper estimate. As replacing the unit seemed far fetched I had another vendor come in for a second opinion as the advice did not seem right- 1) Did not need any freon and adding it literally would have done nothing 2) Needed a few small parts replaced - not a unit replacement. Never again. My husband tried to call to resolve this and was told that bad information wasn't reason enough to be considered a billing error. Considering small claims court as this was clearly an intentional move in taking advantage of a customer. Just completely unacceptable. read more

In November SAM Mechanical did a large repair on my oil burner. I had initially hired them for a simple vacuum and tune-up. They told me that I needed extensive work. Namely, they replaced feed valve, relief valve, expansion tank and auto vent, OH expansion tank upsized from 15 to 30. replaced pressure/temp valve gauge.Total charge $597 This is IN ADDITION to the oil burner tune up at $179. I was told that all parts were guaranteed for one year. Yesterday my oil burner would not go on. I called and left a detailed message to have someone call me in the morning. Today I waited until 10am then called again. I got a recorded message saying this phone number was not accepting calls. Huh? I then called from my other phone number. They picked up right away. I told the woman my story and said that I wasn't sure what was wrong but it was likely that one of the many parts that was replaced was faulty and that I understood that there was a one year guarantee on all parts. Her reply was: 1. They were too busy to come and the earliest appointment was for the second week of August. 2. Even if the repair ended up being a faulty, warrantied part, there is a $135 service charge for the house call. I said I would pay the service charge if the repair was unrelated to a part under warranty, but should not pay a charge if it pertained to a warrantied part. She was adamant. AND I should go without hot water for almost 2 weeks because this was their "busy season"! Needless to say, I called someone else. They were here in an hour. The repair was a loose plug which they tightened. Service call $106. The moral of the story is: STAY FAR AWAY FROM SAM MECHANICAL! read more

Steve installed our air conditioning system about a year and a half ago. When my husband called he was quick to respond and send his team out to do the installation. A year ago we realized we needed another unit and again Steve was quick to attend to our needs and sent his team out in a timely fashion. Recently, when we felt our air conditioning wasn't working as well as it should, Steve drove out to our home and corrected the problem with no further issues. Absolutely terrible work, customer service, and total lack of knowledge. After writing 3 contracts, Steven still could not correct his mistakes. He tried installing a $2,000 burner instead of the $4,000 unit which the contract stated. After pointing out his mistake to him, he stated "that's what Trane sent me." Does he, nor his workers, not check the box and model numbers prior to installation or receiving items for inventory? He then attempted to correct the contract again, but "forgot" to include other services he previously included in the first contract. Previous to this, they began the work in order to setup for the installation and we had to tell his guys NOT to drill from the basement into the leg of our brand new oven. Steve replied "but they didn't do it. Good job stopping them." I'm not his foreman nor do I work for him. If I hadn't stopped his guys, my oven, which has yet to even be used, would have fallen through the floor and into the basement. Clueless. These guys are the definition of bait and switch. Steer clear of this business and save yourself the aggravation of dealing with an inept "owner" who has no idea what he's doing. read more

SAM Mechanical installed my Sears HVAC a few months ago. The owner was helpful when it came to scheduling a time to view the location for the project. He accommodated my work schedule and was even early. A very rare occurrence when it comes to almost companies. They didn't bring a vacuum to clean up after themselves so I was left to clean my house. They made unnecessary holes in two walls and left me the chunks of wall/sheet rock to clean myself. They knocked my phone line out of service while they were in my attic. They also knew the unit wasn't working correctly before they left. But they were so busy worrying about the time and their desire to go home, since this job took longer than usual to complete ( bc they had to go to Home Depot to buy materials to fix all the holes) that they left fully knowing that my HVAC unit wasn't working correctly. The unit wouldn't turn off and I ended up having to put my heat on to warm up my 60 degree house. The only way I could control the unit for 4 days was via my circuit breaker. Again the owner was helpful and came to my house personally to try to help resolve the issue. He accommodated my work schedule yet again and was able to resolve all issues - phone and unit. That being said, all of in all, I'm disappointed in both Sears and Sam Mechanical for all of the other problems that occurred the day of install. read more

Customers Beware! We scheduled an appointment for a maintenance contract over 10 days in advance with Kerrie.  She had offered earlier appointments however waiting the 10 days worked best for our work schedules.  My husband left work early as we were booked for an appointment between 3-5pm.  While I was as work I received a call from the tech Jeff at 4:30pm to let me know he was running late but would be on site between 5:30-6 instead.  I told him that was fine.  At 5:30pm I had a missed call from a private number while I was running errands however no message was left. I was home by 5:45 pm with my husband who advised no one had showed. We waited until 7pm. When I called at 7pm and spoke  with Brittany; I explained what happened and she advised we would get a call back.  I ran out and my husband got the call.  Jeff said he was on our block at 5:30pm but couldn't find the house.  How that is possible is beyond comprehension as the garage door was open and the house number is clearly posted on the mailbox.  Further said he couldn't promise but might be able to come back Saturday afternoon.  When I returned home to hear that I was furious.  I called back and spoke with Patricia who got out another message.  This time when Jeff called he spoke with me.  He apologized but had no excuse.  He said he left a message at 5:30pm when he called and waited 30 minutes before leaving.  That is a blatant lie.  I have no voice message nor was he on my block at 5:45pm.  I would have seen him. If this is how they handle a maintenance appointment how will they handle an emergency?! The owner of the company did not respond other than saying it was his brother in law. So basically his family doesn' t make mistakes and customer service isnt a high priority. Customers beware! read more

Steve, the owner of SAM Mechanical, is always giving 100% effort. He has come to my house in the middle of the night when I had a heating issue and on a weekend when I had an AC problem. His work is the BEST and always very clean and professional. I have met several of his technicians and they are top notch as well. While this is a smaller firm than some out there the service is, by far, the best I have received when compared to the bigger companies out there. Steve is very responsive and knows how to take care of his customers. His prices might not be the lowest BUT he stands behind his work and his expertise in the HVAC arena. He knows his stuff and does not upsell a project. He has gone over and above to save me from replacing my units and has only done so if the situation warrants it. He also took care of my father's heating issue in record time (less than 2 hours). SAM Mechanical has earned my business and loyalty as long as I need an HVAC specialist. read more
