The store part of the pantry is really nice…read more However, the obnoxious signs all over the place such as, "You break it you bought it" and "No cell phones" and reminders that you are under surveillance is annoying. It's a thrift shop. All of the stuff in the store was donated to them, so the woman Ann who runs it could lighten up a little. Whenever she is in the store, you can feel the mood change as she yells at everyone. Not the most pleasant of places to browse around sometimes. That being said, it has a nice selection of clothing and household items, glassware and estate jewelry. It is all neatly arranged and they don't put a lot of junk out. It's worth a trip to go in and see what they have. You never know what you may find and it all goes to a great cause.

She told me she would send me the list of what she chose but I never received a copy from her. I took photos of all the pieces she took and I paid the $10 fee and got a receipt for it. On the receipt it said I would get 45% of the sales price and AFTER 90 DAYS, IF UNSOLD, THE CLOTHING WOULD BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE STORE A week later I went in to see how my clothing was priced but only found about half put out. The most expensive pieces were not there. I went through every rack carefully. I asked the owner where they were and she said they were out but didn't have time to show me where. I stopped in 3 more times and could not find any of my expensive pieces anywhere in the store. I took pictures of the racks. Each time the sales person said she was too busy to show me where they were. On Nov. 20, 2024 I stopped in and th saleswoman said 3 were sold but again I couldn't find almost half of my pieces. So I asked the saleswoman to please have the owner call me and I wanted all my unsold clothing back. If I waited much longer the rest would become the property of the store. The next day I received a call from the owner and she said I could come an get my things. I reminder her that I wanted to get a check for the amount owed me. When I came in she gave me the clothes but the expensive pieces still weren't there. Gina said they sold. Hmm- in one day? I received a check from her for what she said sold. Please remember I was never able to confirm what price she asked for those pieces as they were never put out. I feel if I wasn't so diligent I am sure I never would have been paid for those expensive pieces and everything but three pieces would have become their property.

I've tried to give this shop several chances but I've given up…read more Prices are high for used clothing, hardly anything for children or juniors, forget designer as they must sell it a different way and if it's in their "designer" area it's going to be crazy pricey. Their sales don't make sense either...just give me a percentage off not BOGO especially on items I don't want. I've also been disappointed that they've gone political and advertise only who they want to win. Politics should have no part of a thrift shop.

To preface, I have happily been to Consign Design several times to browse and purchase! Those…read moreexperiences have always been very pleasant, staff, always friendly and accommodating. I've joyfully purchased furs, boots, scarves... shall I go on? Lol Today, however, my experience was, at best, humiliating. Today, I came with a small bag of donations, a few gently worn items and some new "Chico's" dresses still with purchase tags. I had no idea there was a protocol to follow: 1. Make an appointment 2. Everything must be pressed and on hangers... I was only 'stopping-by" to to good deed... nothing more. The woman who greeted me, very curtly told me that I was supposed to have made an appointment. After the dressing down for no appointment, she said she'd see me. Then, giving my small bag the once over without opening it, told me she couldn't take anything, to take it back because everything had to be on hangers. She then opened the bag and showed me how very wrinkled my things were and launched into a dissertation about how there wasn't enough 'woman power' to press all the clothes. She said I could take my things elsewhere. I am so glad there were no other customers in the shop within earshot... I was mortified. I told the woman that I had no idea there were rules to follow, I was only doing a good deed. (Please note: I do understand that, as with anything, there need to be guidelines. Surely I would have complied had I known.) The woman then told me to leave the bag and she'd go through it, keep what she felt acceptable and 'donate' the rest. She thanked me and then, in a somewhat condescending tone, invited me to browse. I thanked her and said, "I don't think so.". I left feeling embarrassed and quite hurt. Shame on that woman... she should not be allowed to represent Consign Design! Her unkindness caused unnecessary hurt and humiliation ... and isn't that what Consign Design champions against?
