A mattress should improve sleep, not create health issues. The warranty claim process was extremely difficult and frustrating. Filing a claim took far too much effort, and when an inspector was finally sent out, it felt like the decision had already been made before he arrived. My claim was denied because he said he found a stain on the mattress, which came across as a convenient reason to reject the warranty rather than a fair inspection. I would not recommend American Furniture for mattresses or major purchases. Also, to be clear, there was no major stain on the mattress. The claim was denied based on a minor mark that does not affect the structure, support, or performance of the mattress, which was the actual concern being reported. When customers purchase a mattress with a warranty, it is the store's responsibility to clearly explain what can void that warranty at the time of sale. It was never explained that a minor, non-structural mark could result in a complete denial years later, regardless of the defect being claimed. The issue here is not whether mattress covers are recommended. The issue is that the warranty process felt designed to deny claims rather than fairly evaluate them. The inspection appeared predetermined, and the stain was used as a blanket reason to dismiss the complaint without addressing the actual problem of support failure. Saying this is "industry standard" does not make it acceptable. Besides these showstoppers, there are several different styles of couches and chairs from huge and comfortable to sleep and leather. Statues, lamps, decor and lighting are also displayed throughout the store and come in a variety of styles. This furniture store is just our style. I'd say it's a combination of eclectic, exotic and traditional. The prices are pretty much the same as any other furniture store you visit and you find many unique items. Their quick customer service and willingness to help. Even down to the warranty they offered. $149 dollars, comes with a furniture cleaning kit and it's a 4 year no question asked. If they can't fix or repair we get a replacement. On top of that if I don't use the warranty in 4 years I get the $149 back on store credit!
