I'd say I'd come here on my own but that's a darn lie. I'm not interested in anything that has to do with my back because I'm young and cool and chiros are for old suckers. Aka my husband who goes there and went there as a new patient during the pandemic with his back problems. Well, I think I got my own medicine because a few months back I picked my toddler up for a nap, and did it wrong and pinched my nerve/threw my back out. The worst pain ever and recovering slowly sucked. Thus my visit to Salus where my consult was with Dr Ashley and we went through a plan. Depending on severity they typically start visits off 3x a week, then 2x followed by 1x when you then review progress made. I'm wrapping up the tail ends of my plan and I can't wait. While I appreciate the friendly faces at Salus, I'm just ready to go back to doing nada and chilling in at home without having to have morning errands to do my adjustment, traction and estim. Dr. Ditto, Becky, and Katie are typically the friendly familiar faces that greet you in the early bird morning and they kick off the positive rays of sunshine, even before I've had my cup of coffee and I can barely muster a pleasant hello in return. I do appreciate the exercises they have me do, my husband and I do them in our spare time and look forward to getting our backs all young and hip like we're ready to do parkour all over again. I came to Salus in 2015. I had just gotten out of the Army and had some pretty serious injuries from a parachute malfunction among other things. So a few months into being a civilian and I was barely able to walk my one dog Belle for more than 10 minutes without needing to sit down for at least another 10 minutes. At that time I was on eight different pharmaceutical medications such as Celebrex, Gabapentin, Hydrocodone, etc. The one Chiropractor that the Central Texas VA system had denied me as a patient telling me that my spine was "too messed up for Chiropractic care". The VA told me I should just fuse disks, burn nerves, and/or put at rod in my back. Luckily I found Salus. I still remember my first appointment with Dr. Ditto. After looking at my x-rays he told me "We will get you back to 80%." I didn't believe him. I was in constant pain. I had constant migraines. My wife had left me because physically I wasn't the same anymore. It's crazy how now I look back at that time and it just seemed like a bad dream. I walk 15,000 steps a day now with Belle and two other dogs. I do yoga. I go to the gym often. While I can't do deadlifts and squats like I used to, I can still do more I ever thought I could do in 2015. If someone in 2015 would have told me where I'd be now, I would have never believed them. Words can't express enough how much this place changed my life. Every doctor there has been kind, mindful, and intentional with their care for me. I will forever be in their debt. I fell for one of their ads they have on Facebook. It felt right to go with them after reading fake reviews they have eveywhere. They lead me on to letting me think it was ok to be late after I sent a heads up through text which is a way they communicate with you. I even spoke to them over the phone as I was parking and they said they would still see me. I went inside and Dawn rejected me and tried rescheduling me 2 hours later. She was nice about explaining why I wouldn't be seen, but don't do it after your team lead me on. I have the texts to prove it. I drove 33 minutes to see them. Gas isn't cheap at the moment and I called into work to get relief. The first visit was just a check up and x-ray so my second visit to me was something I was looking forward to. I still haven't found relief, but I will. The first day I went, I overheard them accommodating someone who looked like was a regular. I must have not been worth it. Love this practice. Dr. Ashley and Dr. Ditto have helped with a pinched nerve in my shoulder & a herniated disc. They listen to you, adjust you as needed, give you exercises to do in the office & at home.
