Steak n Shake has changed so much since I worked there 22 years ago. Gone are the servers and…read moresilverware. This restaurant has kiosks for ordering and you walk up to get your food. You scan a barcode from your drink ticket if you ordered a fountain drink. This prevents people from stealing soda, I suppose. It's more of a hassle than anything. Regardless, this is an affordable, no frills fast food joint with a drive-thru for people on the go. The food is still good. We've visited this location for the past two Saturdays, as a new tradition following my toddler's soccer sessions. We ordered the double steak cheeseburger with fries and my son enjoyed a chocolate milk and French fries (he won't eat anything else, unfortunately). This last time, we brought a friend, and she ordered cheese fries and a Nutella milkshake. I went with the chocolate milkshake. My only complaint is that too heavy on the condiments on the hamburgers. my burger had so much mustard I had to scrape it off. We hope to keep returning here following our weekly soccer sessions, but if we find another place with food my toddler will eat, we might decide to switch it up.

Mike was not happy. Instant attitude. He did make me another sandwich that he literally threw together. So sloppy, he had mayonnaise all over the top of bun and pickles half on half off bun. ZERO PRIDE. on Mikes part. Too bad.

There was so much food for the 2 of use we ended up taking home the wings for a pre-game before we went out later. Bartender was very helpful with out selections of food and beverage. The place was clean and spacious for 1, 2 or a party! We will definitely be up for another visit! See you Soon!

While in the area shopping we decided on a big lunch at Smokey Bones figuring dinner would be light. While looking the menu over we noticed several things are different since last time we had eaten here. When the server approached we asked her about doing a combo. I wanted the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs and pulled pork combo. I learned from server they no longer offer that combo. She stated that to do that combo it would cost between 5-6 dollars more. I also asked if I could have the center cut of the ribs. I was told no, they don't do that. I hate when you order a half rack of ribs and you basically get 3 edible ribs out of the 6. We all know how the ends are usually burnt and not very good. For an appetizer we ordered a corn bread. It used to be served in a pan. It's now served as 4 mini cornbreads. I actually prefer the cornbread this way. The taste was the same, still delicious. Also, if you don't finish them you can take it home and it's a mini cornbread for later. When my food arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was delicious and the ribs were so tender and falling off the bone. The pulled pork was yummy too as was the sides. Our server was lovely and I wouldn't hesitate to come back when in the area.

Full disclosure: we came in for one thing and one thing only -- KARAOKE! We've heard stories about O'Briens karaoke and the singers it draws for years, so we couldn't pass up an opportunity to check it out. It did not disappoint! The only food I tried that night was their fries, which were very good. As for drinks, I stuck to Irish Whiskey, and they've got a very good selection. The bartenders were friendly and attentive, which is always impressive on popular karaoke nights when its loud and crowded -- kudos to the O'Briens staff for keeping it cozy and welcoming! Now, more about karaoke! They've got a spacious "stage" for performers and its a large enough space that singers with big voices don't have to worry too much about being too loud. Sound mix is well-balanced -- you can tell they've been doing this for a while. Pro tip: If you want to sing more than once, get there early! When I put my name in I had 17 singers ahead of me, if that tells you anything about how busy it gets. All in all, we had a great time, and the next time we're out in Carrollwood we'll likely be back!

Their website indicates they've been in business 24 years in Tampa! When we arrived at 7:05 pm the place was about 20% full so plenty of tables for the seat-yourself arrangement. We were surprised to see the music didn't start until 9. Went to 1am. They took a 30 minute break at 9:30 so we cashed out at that point. We started with overpriced soda at $3.50 that resulted in almost $5 for one glass when a 25% tip and tax were added. They have two types of ciders, both excellent qualities with Strongbow and the Irish brand Magners. Prices were fair. Food: I tried their Emerald Isle sandwich, which was excellent with lots of flavor. Rate it 4.5/5. It was supposed to come with a pickle spear but I don't remember there being one. Wondered why they didn't adjust the price since they charged extra for sauce as covered below. The fries were thick and rate them 3/5. My friend got the Murphy's chicken sandwich. This comes with bacon and Swiss cheese; plus fries. Also good with nice flavor. 4/5 Service: Above average. The ladies were hustling and smiling as they took care of the growing requests as the place filled to capacity. Our server was always present and easy to flag down when needed. This justified the 25% tip, so nice job. Parking: plenty in the large lot. Forgot to show our server the Yelp check-in to get $5 off. Only complaints: 1) they charged extra for BBQ sauce. Not only did they not tell us about the up charge but it was a small quantity that should be the same treatment as ketchup or mayo. Furthermore we held the lettuce and tomatoes, so why not be okay with a substitute sauce? 2) While cleaning the table next to us they knocked the bottle of ketchup on the floor where it sat for about ten minutes. When the server picked it up she set it right back on the table without cleaning it. Hmmmm
