I'm trying to do that one-meal-a-day eating plan and right now, as I greedily suck this thing down, I can't think of anything more satisfying! This is the first and last time I'll order from JJ Smoothy. The Fun in the Sun smoothie was very watery and not at all what I expected and the chicken fajita wrap left much to be desired. When you enter the shop you're taken aback for a moment by the industrial quantities of protein, supplements and health elixirs that line the gruff shelves that bear their weight. But the industrial quickly gives way to the neighborhood smoothie shop vibe as you approach the counter. With a wide selection of smoothies and wraps to choose from I took a moment before settling on a large bahama mama. The staff member was helpful, but only as friendly as he needed to be (though we've all had off days am I right?). My discontent with the gruffness of my encounter with the staff quickly gave way to bliss as I received my smoothly quickly and expertly prepared in a humble styrofoam cup. The blending of the banana, strawberries and pineapple was nothing short of perfection. The added 45 grams of protein were a nice boost to get my day going and I left having dropped close to $8, which wasn't bad all things considered, though being slightly more welcomed by the staff definitely would have made parting with that $8 a little less painful. Overall, the shop's proximity to a gym and martial arts fitness center demonstrate an eye for marketing but the humble interior communicates a desire not to beat you over the head with their intelligent decision. Located in a strip plaza off of Hillsboro Avenue text next to LA fitness. The smoothie place has the best tasting smoothies I've been to. Tons of flavors to choose from and tons of different types of additional add-ons like proteins, BCAAs vitamins minerals etc. Perfect place to take your kids for a healthy alternative to ice cream, or after the gym or a replacement meal! They also offer sandwiches and wraps that are healthy and nutritious. I've never tasted one but I have seen them make them and the ingredients are fresh and made to order. My personal favorite smoothie is the strawberry peanut butter I get it with water and double protein in a 20 ounce cup. Approximately 280 cal and very filling! This is my go to place after hitting the obstacle course I train at in Tampa. My kids love the almond Joy and strawberry banana smoothie's. I was told " it's a proprietary blend" I again tried to explain I only wanted to know how many carbs and fat would be in a beverage.
