Protein Monkey in Westchase is such a fun little spot for healthy eats, they have waffles smoothies and juices with aloe Vera , The vibe is boho and welcoming , perfect for a post-workout stop or when you want something that feels like a treat but is still guilt-free. The protein waffles are my absolute favorite I usually get the Romeo and Juliete which has strawberry coconut and chocolate drizzle . It's light and fluffy without being overly sweet. You'd never guess they're packed with protein, I also can't do whey protein so confirmed that it is plant protein . Their smoothies and green juices are also super tasty without tasting too chalky. One of the best parts is that the store is usually owner-run, and they're always super friendly and helpful when recommending items or explaining what's in each drink. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they serve. My only complaint is the pricing or seems pricing everywhere. One time I didn't even check the total, and my waffle and green juice came out to about $32, which was a surprise. It's not a deal-breaker because the quality and service are great, but it's worth keeping in mind. Overall, Protein Monkey is still one of my favorite healthy spots in the area if Im craving something sweet. read more

I ordered the Elvis waffle, and while the presentation was beautiful, the texture wasn't quite what I prefer. It wasn't crispy enough for me, and the toppings, while delicious, might've made it a bit too soft. Cons: While we were eating there was a large golden retriever that was allowed to jump on the counter and was petted by a staff member who also made and brought out our food (we received our food before she pet the dog but was so disgusted after seeing that). The counter also contains food ingredients, blenders, etc. The dog also was scratching next to our table (the place is super quaint). SO GROSS! I'd also like to note that the dog was also not a service animal. The Choco coco shake was a 2.5 out of 5. I asked if it was chalky/traditional protein taste and was told no, however, the shake tasted like only chocolate protein powder. Like, right out the Costco jar, blended with ice only. It is basically protein waffles and protein shakes. Or very artificial looking tea. No plain teas. The protein is soy, which I do not eat and there is no other choice, so I could not get anything. I was looking for a basic smoothie with natural ingredients and different choices for protein. I also found out it is a front for Herbalife, a pyramid scheme. Easy five star review, from the vibe to the decor to Yani at the counter to the protein-focused shakes and waffles, I really enjoy this place! I'm honestly surprised it isn't packed with a line out the door. Perhaps Westchase hasn't gotten the memo yet. They should, we need to help them thrive. Upon entering you'll notice a really cool/hip but very very welcoming Miami type vibe. While the menu is relatively small, making the choice is so difficult, everything looks so delicious and actually is. Everything on the menu is custom made. Nothing is premade waiting to be served. The taste and texture difference is obvious. So far I have had the chocolate protein shake (non dairy) and a wonderfully delicious protein waffle. Will be back often for sure. read more

Inside is so cute, the black and white checkered floor, the chill music, comfy chairs, it is such a vibe in here and so lovely. The owner is so nice and friendly too, he had no problems helping me out and was wonderful. The smell inside was amazing too, I'm going back for sure. Now the food was delicious!
