Waited over 20 minutes for 2 lattes while several orders behind me were attended to first. I watched the milk boil over in the small little kettle they have to warm milk. Literally almond milk spilling all over the counter. I had to just walk out without the lattes since my two toddlers were not too happy waiting any longer. The walls need fresh paint and the original clean juice design is dated! I can't believe this is in Hyde park and doesn't have a cool vibe. Now on to the bowl, the base was okay but the granola was beyond stale like it was stored in a fridge. The chopped pineapple was hard and not ripe. We actually threw both bowls in the trash (outside of course bc the trash was over flowing)! The gluten-free bread is slightly smaller, but they were able to upgrade me to 2 whole sandwiches. Came in extra hungry because HubbyStanks and I had to fast for our yearly blood work that morning. I had this place bookmarked so since we were in Carrollwood we decided to get something new for breakfast. You know how when you're so hungry something that tastes okay seems like it's tastes so good? Well, that didn't happen here...everything was just okay...but I really wanted it to be good. After having several great acai bowls around town and making my own awesome bowls at home the bowls here were much of a let down. They weren't bad they just weren't good. They were just okay. I regret ordering the nutty bowl because the ground nuts in the acai really made the bowl tasteless. Hubby got a special acai bowl and his wasn't impressive either. I also notice that the prices were comparable to other places serving acai bowls, however they were quite stingy with the toppings. The lack of value was also apparent in the avocado Toast. It tasted fine but they smeared the avocado onto the toast thinly like it was butter. I swear they probably used 1/4 or less of one avocado. At 3.99 this is a rip off when you're used to getting a nice amount elsewhere. My favorite thing was the hint of lemon juice on the avocado. Service was lacking as well. When we came in they were giving a customer samples of juice. Then after she left they took our order and we sat down to wait. The next guy came in and ordered to go and he also was offered a sample juice. We got our bowls, but we had to ask for our avocado toast that we already paid for while they made orders for 2 other people. No apologies or admitting forgetting about the toast. Just a, "it's coming." I didn't try the pressed juice, so I'm not sure how they are compared to others, but based on what we've experienced I don't want to waste my time trying. I had high hopes because I hate having to deal with bad parking in south Tampa, but another carrollwood establishment has let me down again. I tried this place because a friend of mine advised that we should start the month off right and do a cleanse. So we all placed our orders online. Well, after I placed my order, I noticed I had put the wrong date on it so I called the store. I was assisted and advised that the new date would be corrected and my cleanse would be ready. (Keep in mind, I live 45 minutes away from this location so I was sending a friend to pick it up). Well fast-forward to pick-up day; the advised that my order was "missing" and the cleanse was not ready. I call only to be told that they have errors sometimes with the app where it takes the order AND your MONEY but never sends the receipt so the store never gets the order. So now they have agreed this indeed is their fault but refunds are not allowed per corporate even though it was an error on their part. Then we asking for corporate contact information, I am given the wrong one whom they no longer do business with. I am still in the midst of getting this all resolved, but needless to say, I WILL NEVER do business here again as they cannot even correct their wrongs. What was to start as a "clean" start to this month has only instead been turned into an infuriated afternoon. **edit: someone from corporate reached out and was extremely understanding and helpful. Apologized as the store should have refunded since it was their fault. I was issued a refund and store credit in hopes to give them another chance in the future. Why 5 stars? Because it's a dream come true!! --- --- --- Selfishly, a large portion of my unbridled joy from the opening of Clean Juice, comes from it's proximity to my house. Before 03/18/17, I had to drive to International Mall for a solid acai bowl. And I crave acai bowls more often than the average Joe, so the miles on the Veteran's were really piling up. That road isn't free, ya know? Now, not only do I have my acai fix close to home, but Clean Juice is literally one of the closest businesses to my front door. YES. Of course, all this would be for naught, if the quality of their acai and other offerings wasn't up to snuff. But on the day of the Grand Opening, I got out of bed, got dressed and made the short trek to check them out. I was obviously excited. Granted, it's only been open for 3.5 hours of this writing, and I only tried three items, but I was impressed. Here's the scoop: Nutty Acai Bowl - The acai is a good quality - definitely not too runny, and doesn't appear to be some mass-produced, pre-frozen on a Sisco truck stuff. Sadly, I've had a few like that, but this was not one of them. It actually had a slightly pinkish color, rather than the typical deeper purple. The nutty bowl comes with strawberries, banana and granola at the top, with a pretty deep amount of acai below. A very solid offering! The Almond Toast - As one of four non-liquid options, I was looking for a more hearty compliment to go along with my bowl. I look forward to trying the avocado toast next time, but I enjoyed this. The toast was small, but filling. I could definitely go with the bowl -or- the toast next time, but I was anxious to try a couple different things for my first visit. The Iced Latte One - As far as I could tell, this was the only coffee-based drink on the menu. I usually caffeinate myself within five minutes of rolling out of bed, so I was excited to see this as an option. It was very tasty, and something I definitely will order again in the future. My only small gripe is that it didn't seem to pack a ton of a punch, but that could be because I had just eaten so much, so that I was primed for a food coma. As far as the place itself, it's not huge, but there is indoor and outdoor seating available. They also sell trendy shirts with silly puns involving items you'll find on the menu here like, "Kale No" and "Acai you in my dreams, or something like along those lines :) You can also grab juice from the cooler or granola-like snacks to go, if you just want to get your fix on the run! So I have been eyeing this place Saturday mornings, when I take my orangetheory class. I have been away from class for a little and I was happy to find it was open when I came back again. There isn't a juice/ acai place up here so I am happy to have one close by! I am not much of a juice person so this is for their acai bowl. They have a variety of different flavors, and I zeroed in on the green bowl. Why? Because I love matcha!!! I never had a bowl with matcha in it. It was very tasty and not overly sweet. Sometimes people add sugar to their bowls which is dumb because it defeats the purpose of the healthy food. This is not one of those places. Looking around, it is a cute atmosphere with their apparel and community board. Another thing that caught my eye, was the prayer request jar. I loved that, and it made me see that this is a Christianity based business. Another plus. I did their 1 day juice cleanse and I was very pleased with how all the juices tasted. If you are going to do the cleanse call ahead and they will let you pick up the fresh juice the next day. I do wish they pressed the bottled juice at each location but unfortunately it is shipped in from a different state. The location is easy to get in and out of and they have always been helpful when I have had questions. They also have a rewards program if you buy a lot of fresh juice or their acai bowls.
