Instead of greeting Amazon customers, the employees seemed far more interested in fraternizing. One casually dropped an F-bomb after telling me that I needed to end a call with my elderly mother who was just trying to find me in the store before she would process my return. Thankfully, Chelsea, the Whole Foods manager, completely turned things around. She was kind, apologetic, and explained that the Amazon Returns operation is managed separately from the Whole Foods grocery team. Even though it wasn't her department, she took the time to make things right and provided outstanding customer service. The Amazon Returns team should probably remember they're at work, not at a social gathering.

No customer should leave a business wondering if they were treated differently because of the color of their skin. Customer service should be based on respect--not on who walks through the door. Victor, as the owner of Abby's, you should know what customers are experiencing in your store. Every person deserves to be greeted, acknowledged, and helped equally. To anyone in the Black and Brown community: pay attention to how you're treated here. Judge for yourself, but don't ignore the warning signs. I cooked half of it in a baking dish and baked the other half this evening. It DOES come in a ready to bake pan you can cook the entire thing in at one time if you choose. Awesome!! Of course this time I came, they said they were not offering it due to their Easter orders that they said they were busy with. So the bistro meals were 9.99. They also had rotisserie chicken for $5, tuna tataki for $5, and basic California, tuna, & salmon with rice sushi rolls were $5. I decided to get a 9.99 bistro meal for my husband, picked out the pepper steak, potato salad(his fave of the the three), and mac and cheese. I picked up a tuna tataki($5 special), shrimp cocktail / $6, and a half a pound of kale, apple, cranberry, and walnut salad(my fave), I was impressed with my lunch that was tasty and pretty healthy. Everyone working was very nice. I also bought a rotisserie chicken($5 today) for dinner. This was very good and much better than Publix and Costco chicken. Happy to also have another green tea to try. It was a worthwhile visit. Next week the bistro meals will start being $7 which is entree, and two sides and an upcharge for salmon. This a boutique size supermarket similar to Whole Foods, but a bit smaller. It's very organized & has many healthy and organic options. When I went to another location to check the balances, I discovered both cards were invalid. Returning to the original store, I wasted over 30 minutes only to be told the issue would be "investigated" and that I'd have to wait at least 48 hours for a refund. This was supposed to be a holiday gift, yet the staff showed zero urgency or care. To make matters worse, corporate customer service was equally dismissive--refusing to provide a case number or even a phone number for follow-up. The lack of accountability at every level is astounding. I will never shop at GNC again, nor recommend them to anyone. They've lost my trust and my business permanently.

When I called their customer service, I was told I had to wait 3 to 5 business days for an investigation due to problems with their system. Mind you, it was a good chunk of my money that they took from my bank account without my permission. So I asked how I was going to be compensated for the inconvenience as they were holding onto MY money that they were not authorized to take and for the stress that they were causing me. I was offered $10 off my next purchase, which obviously isn't an even trade. I waited a week and didn't hear from anyone so I called the store manager, who was very rude and treated me like I didn't have any right to ask for my money back. In the end he offered to give me a refund, but when I went into the store, again he was very rude and dismissive. I would highly recommend going to any other GNC store to avoid unnecessary extra charges, stress, and rude treatment. It was like they wanted to steal my money and give me attitude because I refused to let it go.

I want to like this place a lot more, I really do. I mean anywhere that offers completely vegan…read moretakeout should be five stars in my book. So what's the problem? First, I'll start with what's not the problem. This small hole-in-the-wall store is completely filled with vegan items. Some of these are items I've seen at Whole Foods, Nutrition S'Mart, Chuck's, Trader Joe' s or Abby's, and some of them I've never seen before (different brands of salmon patties, tuna and fried chicken just to name a few). Items for sale include canned goods, frozen foods, condiments, snacks, baking items, spices, homemade baked goods and fresh smoothies. All of these seemed to be priced pretty close to your local health food stores like Chuck's, Abby's or Nutrition S'Mart. Our original reason for visiting was to order some take out. The menu was hard to find (it was behind you when you walk in, not on a big sign over by where you order). Once I found the menu, I asked for a tofu wrap. The wrap was full of fresh veggies and nicely textured tofu. The tofu was some of the best I've had recently. I loved that the sandwich could be topped with any number of vegan condiments including chipotle mayo. I opted for plain old mustard since my daughter was sharing it with me. Speaking of my daughter, that child started crying from hunger while we waited for our sandwich to be made. What did the employees do? They offered her a homemade carob cookie absolutely free. The crying immediately stopped (hmmm...maybe I should teach her to cry on command so we can get more free stuff) and a huge smile spread across her face. The owner of the shop was very knowledgeable. She took me on a tour of the store, talked to me about the products, shared which ones were vegan and not (they have like three or four things in the store that have eggs in them) and gave me recommendations based on customer feedback and popularity. Not sure if you like something? Instead of buying an entire box, Natural Detox/Vegan Take Out will sell them in smaller increments. Buy only two vegan chicken patties or nuggets instead of an entire box. That's something I've never seen before. So why only three stars? Well, the reason I needed a tour of the store is because nothing is labelled. You'd find the same products at two different places in the shop. The refrigerators aren't clear, so you have to open them to see inside. Then you stand there looking around and rearranging things. All the while energy is being wasted unnecessarily. The owner did apologize a lot and kept saying she was in the process of defrosting refrigerators. I'll give them a few weeks and then stop back in. With a few simple tweaks, like better organization and labels on the outside of the refrigerators telling you what's inside, this store would easily be a four or even five star one.
