In the back right there is a hot food counter that serves up soups, different preparations of chicken, pork, tamales, morro rice, yellow rice and peas, white rice, calabasa squash (with onion and garlic), yucca (with onions and garlic), caramelized plantains, and other offerings that rotate depending on the day. We got a customizable filled-to-the-hilt to-go box and it was a very cheap $3.99! I can't find an offer like that anywhere (that I've been at least). Florida made bakery items are for sale and strewn about the store. There's some speciality packaged goods and seasonings also. The front part of the store has juices and cut packaged fruit (I believe). There are also quick grab-and go Cuban confections by the check-out registers, perfect for a sweet fix on the run. I also once saw packaged cut up papaya heavily discounted by the registers. Workers are friendly and I loved hearing the Latin beats blaring while shopping. I look forward to returning soon.

If you open an account on their website you can select produce that you do not want Raw Box to send you. (I hate mushrooms and eggplant so I made sure to select these items on my "do not send list".) Raw Box offers fruit, vegetable, or mixed boxes. They also offer a "juicing box" that contains fruits and vegetables that are good for juicing. All of the boxes come in three sizes: small, medium or large. A small box costs $35 and usually contains 10-13 items for 1-2 people. A medium sized box costs $45 and contains 14-17 items for 3-4 people. A large box is $55 and contains 18-22 items. I purchased the small vegetable box with my living social coupon. I had a bit of trouble using the website so I ended up calling Raw Box and placing my order over the phone. I was really pleased with my shipment. My small box did not seem small at all and contained a variety of tomatoes, sweet potatoes, yellow onion, parsley, carrots with tops, lettuce and kale. I haven't been at home much the past few weeks so I have not had the chance to order again (yet). I have used a similar service in the past and loved it, but I took a break from the service because the weekly shipments can get overwhelming. Besides the strawberry treats, there is a whole store inside with a variety of jams, hot sauces, and merchandise as well as fresh fruit and veggies for sale. The seating area is really adorable (you can see it in the picture I posted). I guess I'll just have to come back during shortcake season to let you know if it's worth the "world famous" title.
