Interesting place! You walk in and order from a kiosk. Watch out because it sets a tip on the machine. I saw it and wondered who I was tipping because it says they'll call your name to get your food. There are no regular fountain drinks. Bottled water, soda, they have what looks like that nectar drink. Kids got a choice of apple juice, chocolate milk or bottled water. We sat down and a girl did bring our food instead of yelling for us to go grab it. We all got tacos. Kids came with flour tortilla and mine I specifically wrote gluten allergy and got corn. The corn tortilla was really good! Didn't break or fall apart at all. Almost like a soft hard taco shell. I didn't see anywhere on the kiosk menu to specify which tortilla you want. Southwest tacos were legit. Got without the fried onions to be GF. Kids got chicken tacos and enjoyed them. Lots of tables inside and outside. We've been to Talkin' Tacos in Miami but this was our first time at the Westchase location. You walk in and the little order kiosks are right up front but we were greeted by a server who asked if it was our first time/did we need any help, which was very nice. Their digital menu is all pictures which we loved there are so many delicious looking options and honestly you probably can't go wrong with any of them! We got a shrimp burrito with a side of street corn and a steak taco salad (guacamole on the side). And the birria tacos and asada tacos are fireeeee! Along with my second favorite which is the taco salad. The parking lot is easy to get into and I love the area. I wasn't sure what I wanted to order and the staff was great at making recommendations which is what lead me to try the taco salad on my second trip there. I loved the atmosphere, I love the Dias de los Muertos sugar, skulls all over the place even the bathrooms . the staff we so helpful ,friendly and really means a lot when every other place you go the employees act like they don't want customers this place is not like that they're very welcoming. Although the prices were a little high and nothing comes with a drink. I got the 3 taco plate you get to choose 3 different tacos I picked Caribbean taco, Carne Asada, and birria taco. My absolute favorite was the Caribbean has plantains and steak cheese, onions, and cilantro such a change in tacos and it was so delicious. My husband got the cali steak burrito which was pretty big and comes with chips he ate the whole thing. My son had the shrimp burrito it was so big he was full with half . Also purchased the street corn with Takis. My husband loved it. I don't like Takis so this is not for me. And for dessert we got the churros that comes with 4 and according to my son these were the best he's ever had they served them when your done eating nice and warm to drink we wanted to try all the drinks but we settled with these Horchata , blue lemonade, mangonada, and the blue strawberry lemonade they were all sooooo good so we're glad we picked them . Talkin Tacos definitely lived up to the hype! I ordered through DoorDash, so I can't really speak on the service, but the food itself was really good. We tried the birria pizza, and it was super flavorful and fun to try. It does get pretty heavy after a few slices, so I'd definitely recommend sharing it. The burritos were also really good! My only complaint is that I wish they used more Takis powder. It mostly sits on top and falls off, so you don't get as much of that flavor as I was hoping for. The homemade chips were delicious, and I loved the overall presentation. Even the packaging is super aesthetic, which made the whole experience feel a little more special. I decided to go back and try the birria tacos again, after they have had time to get their act together a bit more. Disappointed! Birria is ok... not as flavorful as I had hoped. Seems light on spices. Consomme is very bland... not much flavor at all. QuesaBirria taco corn tortillas are traditionally dipped in the spicy grease that cooks out of the beef, and then friend on both sides... enhancing the flavor a lot. The tacos I had today were pretty dry, and the shells were not dipped before frying. Basically just a corn tortilla with some birria meat and cheese in it (See attached photo!) I was honestly a little disappointed! The food looked so good but wasn't all that good to me. I ordered the taco trio where you can pick 3 different tacos from the menu. I got the chicken achiote, birria, and the southwest chicken tacos. The birria taco was honestly kinda bland. The consomé it came with was okay and helped add some flavor but still lacked in depth. The chicken achiote, I didn't taste any achiote and the sauce was really sweet plus it overpowered the flavor of anything else in the taco. The southwest taco kinda had the same issue where all I could taste was the sauce. I also got the horchata and for me it was too thick and waaaayy too sweet! My husband got a burrito (can't remember which one but it had carne, fries, rice, etc.) and he said his food was decent! The people there were really nice and attentive as well! The first thing they asked was if we were new and made sure to explain the ordering system at the restaurant. All in all, I wouldn't really recommend going here and I wouldn't come back. ): However, the plaza it's in is really cute and could be a fun afternoon activity. Lastly, all together for 3 tacos, a burrito that comes with chips, chips and pico (starter), horchata, and a jarrito it all came out to be about $55! I have some friends that been telling me about this place, and I finally got the chance to try it. Since the moment you walk in you feel very welcomed, Alicia was the one who greeted us first, and she was very nice and attentive during the whole time we were there. She explained the menu and how their system works and also made a couple recommendations. Moving on to the most important part, the food, everything was very well done, seasoned and delicious! My favorite were the Caribbean Steak tacos and the mushrooms ones! They were both so good! I also ordered some elote with takis cilantro and cheese, sooooo good! But the star of the day was the horchata, it's honestly out of this world, one of the best horchatas I've ever had. My mom and I went to talking tacos on a weekday evening. There weren't a lot of people inside, and we were immediately greeted upon our arrival. One of the employees walked us through how to order at the kiosk and came to check in on us after a few minutes, which was nice. There is a huge selection! We each decided to get the triple taco deal which allowed us to mix and match tacos to our preference. I had the mahi-mahi, Southwest chicken and shrimp tacos. They were all very, very good! My favorite was the southwest chicken taco. My mom also enjoyed her tacos and she said she would likely be back to try one of their burritos. I would also like to come back and try something else. Talkin' Tacos has this Cuban girl about to go Mexican! There's nothing more I like more than tacos, and this place delivers. Talkin' Tacos just opened last week, so my date and I had to check it out. We decided to order several things from the menu to get the full taste experience, and I'm glad we did. There wasn't a single thing we ate that wasn't bursting full of flavor. The guacamole is wonderful, so order extra. If you're a bodybuilder looking for a protein fix like I am, this is definitely your spot. The Birria Tacos and the Steak Quesabrillas, are overflowing with an abundance of meat. Although slightly smaller in size, the Caribbean Taco was by far my favorite with a perfect balance of salty and sweet. The tacos are so yummy! I have tried the birra, mahi mahi, bang bang shrimp and they are so YUMMY!! I personally don't like the Al pastor as it doesn't have the specific flavor of it and the time I tried it the meat was dry and honestly kinda plain. We've been here twice now and both times we really enjoyed it. The staff is always friendly and has greeted us immediately when we walk in - their ordering is done through a kiosk and there's been an employee there each time ensuring we know how to go through the ordering process and also providing recommendations. My first visit I got the birria tacos - those were really good, I enjoyed the consumme. The second visit I got their version of a Crunchwrap and that's been my favorite so far - I got the birria option (as you can tell, I have a slight birria obsession lol) - again, loved it. Normally, I mourn for the loss of a restaurant and the replacement of a new, but I think in this case, Talkin Tacos is actually an improvement from Tijuana Flats. I've been curious to try this place out based on some of the fresh looking tasty dishes served out here (ESPECIALLY the quesabirria quesadilla, which I have been keeping my eye on because I just love birria tacos...but a quesadilla...DO.I.DARE???). I also noticed that it was dog friendly, and any new place that would allow me to have my sweet Muffin accompany me is a win. Brought the boyfriend out with me. A worker greeted us there right away upon entering and explained to us how the ordering system works. We made our order and headed outside because it was a lovely (albeit cold) day. The food came out pretty quickly. My boyfriend LOVED his shrimp tacos, and I dove in face first with my quesadilla. It had a hefty, healthy amount of tender brisket in it with a decent cheese ratio with the sauce that I could dip it in. Did not disappoint in the slightest although it was quite the beast to tackle, but I got all down in one sitting. I'm not a tortilla chip person, so my boyfriend ate half of mine, which is good because I hate waste. The strawberry lemonade was refreshing and rounded out the whole meal nicely. Curiosity was what brought me into this location, yet everything is super expensive. The kiosk at the front is a little underwhelming, and the dishes need descriptors for people - not to mention possible allergy concerns. I bought a couple of "Mexican Cokes" and a trio of tacos and the total was $35!!! And, they asked me to tip. I was eating in. By the way, "Mexican Cokes" isn't what they are - they are actually Jarritos brand Colas. The food was decent, but not worth the price. The chips my friend got were stale (she got the guacamole and chips to eat). I won't be returning.
