I never knew eating meat out of a bowl made from fried plantains was an option before coming here, but now I wonder how I've lived so long without it. Came here on a Friday evening, I had no wait to order, but everything is made fresh so it took about 20 minutes. There's a couple of tables, but certainly no guarantees you'll get a seat and there isn't too much else in the area so taking it to go might be your best bet. I had two tostones rellenos, one with honey sriracha chicken and one with Latin pork. Of the two meats the chicken was my favorite, the sweet heat coupled with the mild sweetness from the plantain was fantastic. This rating is solely based on my first experience. I do plan to try them again in the future to try other dishes. Anybody that truly knows me will understand my love affair with Plantains. I've been eating it since I was a kid growing up in the islands. Wifey picked up some Tostones Nachos to try, and this is my take. I was a bit surprised to learn this wasn't an appetizer but a meal which is fine with me, long as it's good. I had mixed feelings, if you love the taste of Mayo then stop reading and go buy these Nachos. I personally don't care for Mayo, if it's in a sauce and it's not overpowering, I'm game. Unfortunately that was not the case with these Nachos. For one, the actual plantation was cooked very well, it tasted great, if anything, I felt they could've added a few more tostones considering the price. Now the topping was what ruined it for me. They do an amazing job with their tostones creations!! The shrimp tostones nachos I ordered were insanely good and I can't wait to go back and try more menu items and other filling options. From out of town but tried the Patacon o Jibarito with chicken. Convenient location and parking. There's a small sit down area but of course it's a food truck so not too much to be expected. The meal was pretty decent. I found it to be quite oily but for the price you can't beat the quantity. To say we were underwhelmed would be an understatement. We were so excited to try Tostones after following for a few months, ready reviews and learning of friends' experiences. We got the mofongo with fried pork, fried chicken with tostones, tostones rellenos with baked chicken, nachos with pork and churros. Never had mofongo to go off of, but the fried pork was overcooked and dry. It was hard as a rock and jerky-like. Tostones were OK; softer than we anticipated and the chicken was also overcooked. The tostones rellenos were huge and looked amazing, but were lacking in flavor and packed with some of the driest pulled chicken I've personally ever had. Nachos were amazing. Would get those again in a heartbeat. Churros were good as well, but didn't come with any dipping sauce which was disappointing. Sauce cups provided were fine, but charging extra for only one ounce of Pico was a little ridiculous. I'd understand if it was 1/2 cup or something more substantial like that. I know I personally put an ounce of Pico on one tortilla chip when I eat it, but maybe that's just me. Overall -- overcooked and underwhelming. Glad we were finally able to give it a try, but likely will not be back. read more

Probably the best tostones I have had....ever. They are perfectly crunchy and chewy and so much flavor when you get them. You definitely get the bang for your buck here. Nothing like authentic food and a full stomach on a budget. The service is "slow" but that is because it is cooked after you order it so for me it is absolutely worth it! They charge 25 cent for additional salsa/sauce in the tiniest cup which for salsa/sauce lovers is unfortunate. I had a pork sandwich that was recommended to me. I tried this place on a whim driving by. We've seen it for a while and looks really nice from the street. The small seating area in front is functional and clean. My first ice had the pork jibarito and I had 3 Tostones relleno (Piccadilly, pork, and avocado salad with a beef empanada. The empanada was ok. Not bad but not great, just uninspired I guess. The jibarito was very tasty but maybe could have used lettuce or shredded cabbage. My Tostones rellenos were the bomb. I like the Piccadilly the best.
