checking in from downtown TPA at BARE blends
Anna P.

This place is kinda difficult to find, especially accessing the entrance and parking in downtown tampa. I feel like the spot is really hidden if you are solely relying on maps to get here. But they have healthier options and a cute inside seating area. They play a very mixed bag of music, one second its jazz, then it's rap, and the volume stays consistently high so it's somewhat jarring to hear the switches. I could not get the wifi to work when I was here which was kind of a bummer because I was hoping to get some work done. I ended up getting plain rice in my TGTG bag, a green juice, and a banana oat bar. I don't feel like this was up to par with the hassle it took me to get here, but that's just me! Try it out if you're really into this type of thing.

My party and I got the band for unlimited mimosas and buffet style food ... this food was sooo darn flavorful and filling ! The drinks were tasty as well(many options of mixed drinks outside of the mimosa) Staff was pleasant , sweet and professional which you don't see to much of lately in businesses. Cali love ! We will be back and tell everyone all about it ! Thank you for the amazing time !

I happened to stumble across this place while looking for places to have brunch in Tampa. It's a…read morenice urban social restaurant and bar. It has 2 sides. A full service bar and restaurant on one side and a lounge type atmosphere on the other side with a live DJ. They play a variety of rnb and hip hop from old school to modern day. I really had a nice time. The reason only 4 stars was due to the host not being actively present at the reception area when you walk in. He was too busy on the lounge side dropping it like it was hot and helping the bottle girls "hold" the sign. We stood at the host stand upon entry for a while until someone went to get him from the other side. The food was just "ok". For the price of the food I expected more. I had the lemon pepper honey wings and the chicken and French toast. The wings were not cooked through and served in a bowl which made it very difficult to eat. It came with 2 cornbread muffins that were dense and very dry. The French toast was great. I opted for the one with peaches and icing. It was great. It was served with chicken tenders. Again, in a bowl, which made it very difficult to cut, as I had to dig in the bowl. They were ok, a little on the dry side, the breading was falling off but they were edible. The drinks were flowing and the vibe was good. No complaints there. Would I go back??? Yes, I'll probably try something different on the menu. I feel like if the service was a bit better, more attention to detail on the food and the plating of food was different it would have earned 5 stars. But I had an overall nice time.

The bartenders were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made some of the best drinks I've had in a while. One cocktail was the Punchline which literally comes with a real joke or "punch line" attached. Such a fun and creative touch. Limited lunch menu so I just ordered the burger and fries...both were excellent. The burger was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the fries were fresh and crispy made of real thick cut potatoes. The hotel itself is very nice and more upscale, looked like multiple weddings were happening at this time, and the location in Ybor is fantastic...perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food and drinks. They had a DJ after a certain time. Would definitely stop by again, even just for the bar.

My other friends and I were staying at the Haya and I'm so glad I booked this brunch for us. Super chill urban like modern atmosphere. We also had drinks at the bar later. And all the bar tenders were great! Highly recommend this spot for brunch Oh and the Bloody Mary was great!

Very expensive for not very attentive. Knowing your clientele is very important. We were seated upstairs and 10 mins into our meal they dimmed the lights very low, kind of killing the warm ambience. People complained on the floor and pulled out flash lights to look at the menu and still no change. Ordered two drinks to start with oysters and Mac and cheese to start. Oysters seemed okay and the Mac and cheese for $8 was an absolute gem and steal. Definitely worth getting. The drinks were also phenomenal. Then comes our meals- I ordered seafood risotto and he got short rib. Seafood risotto- didn't seem like a lot, just tastes like sweet rice with a medley of seafood. Green beans are way over seasoned and salty to my taste and my stomach was upset after 6/10 The short rib- delicious no complaints, he enjoyed the green beans. A little spicy with tons of salt. Short rib was soft and tender but no change of knife so expect a butter knife to cut. Not nearly enough mashed potatoes to meat portion but the better of our meals. 8/10 For $200 dollars we've had better service and food so I feel like you're really paying for the location.

The space is interesting and comfortable, affording an open plan that let's you be outside or inside or kind of in between. Hosting was very well done and friendly, missing the South Tampa "too cool for school" attitude and Water Street pretentiousness. Service is prompt and upbeat as well. While waiting for our party to be completed, the manager on rounds stopped to chat and sincerely seemed to want to, in his words, "live up to the hype". The food is fine - not OMG the best asian fusion i ever had, but tasty enough, fresh sushi with flavor, and good cocktails. You'll go here for a cool urban setting in an accessible spot ( Valet or park in one of Mid's plentiful free spaces ) with friends, and to enjoy the setting. The various lesser reviews missed the mark - it's only partially about the food.

We went around 12pm on a Tuesday and it was perfect, not too busy inside and not too hot outside so we were able to enjoy the scenery. As for food, we got the 4 pack empanadas from Empamama with two Mother Clucker empanadas and two Fresh Prince ones. We paired the empanadas with the bang bang sauce and it definitely added to the flavor, especially the Mother Clucker. The mother Clucker was an 8/10 for me while the fresh prince was a 7/10. The restaurant also offers a margarita slushy and an apple cider slushy which we had samples of and that was good. We ended up getting lemonade and strawberry lemonade from a different restaurant though because we were just feeling that instead. Overall, I spent about $30 here ($22 for food and $8 for drinks). I really emphasize that this is a casual spot and I would come here for a quick mid-day snack rather than for an entire meal. I was definitely still hungry after but the food was enough to hold me over for a couple hours.
