The campsites while some newly graveled, not well I might add, are not level. The electric at my site kept tripping off. I finally discovered, with no help from the non-existent management, that the service disconnect breaker was bad. Luckily I had an extra 30A cord and was able to plug into the unoccupied adjacent site. How this abomination has any 5 star reviews is above my pay grade. Duringthe week we were here we never saw a camp representative. We were not welcomed by anyone affiliated with the campground and I never saw anyone on duty in the office. Our site had no picnic table and no fire ring and had areas dotted with clumps of gray fur. Obviously noone had inspected our site for cleanliness prior to our arrival. Our first visitor was a 4' rat snake. There was debris strewn all over the grounds. There was one trash container. Unlined and uncovered. No dog poop bags or signs regarding poop pickup. There was a lot of demolition but no new construction ongoing. The "pool" is a 4' deep square under construction and far from being completed. The "resort" signage was a joke. It took me 3 tries to find my way out of the campground. The entrance sign is installed parallel to the road rather than perpendicular to it for visibility. The number of decrepit or abandoned trailers on site was unbelievable. We were never told if the campground was under new management and/or under going refurbishment. In any event it was missing the mark. Unfortunately we paid for a week in advance so we were stuck here. NEVER AGAIN. I'm leaving this truthful review so no other potential campers are duped into staying here. Definitely an absentee owner who doesn't have a clue. Really too bad because the location and grounds have enormous potential. I will let Happy Grounds and RV LIFE know of my great disappointment and suspect reviews. By the way, to the reviewer who said they enjoyed the pool, THERE IS NO POOL. Their advertising is outright false, misleading and deceptive. DO NOT CAMP HERE.

I came by during their Halloween weekend and it was spectacular. We played bingo Friday night and had Halloween party on Saturday. Staff were all absolutely wonderful and always cheerful and ready to help. Their bathrooms were surprisingly clean and warm at all times. Their burger place was nice. Easy to order. Burger was juicy, tasty and reasonably priced. However their super star was the extra crunchy fries. Sorry I didn't get a picture I got distracted while tasting and couldn't put the food down to take a picture :) their meals come with a gigantic drink which surprised me $12.99 is nothing for this value.

It's a camping area with paid amenities. There is a basketball court, mini golf ($), a pool and Jacuzzi, swimming area in the lake with boat rentals ($) an ice cream shop, a camp store and a whole lot of acreage to explore **Work outing experience** We were promised free unlimited mini golf until 5 PM. However, there were many discrepancies with the time. One woman told us that it ended at 2 because the Jimmy fun took over while other coworkers told me it ended at 3. I understand it's a camping area, but if somebody has a paid block of time, it should be accommodated!! We asked our supervisors why this was and they said Odetah changed it last minute on the day of, even though we had paperwork and flyers since the end of July! I guess it really does come down to money at the end of the day!

The CG was clean and well kept, a nice dog park with agility tests, laundry was clean with enough W/D so I never needed to wait. The pool was warm and great for kids and sunbathers, showers clean and convenient to pool. I was concerned about no sewer but with pumping every 4th day I was able to use the W/D water in my motor home for small loads. The sites are spacious with grass and room for evening fires. There are lots of activity areas like bocce, mini putt... can't remember them all but I am sure they are listed. The staff were always very friendly, and always available. Manager was always around checking on guests. There are many seasonal guests who are very nice and helpful and they pride themselves in their site upkeep. The location is perfect for exploring the area. If we lived closer we would be back every year. It is a campground, not like the Sun Resorts in the West with paved sites and spiffy big rec centers. We really enjoyed our stay!

It's a great location on the corner. Perfect site to people watch. Close to main area if you walk through the amphitheater path. This take you straight to the pool area without needing a golf cart. Plus a grassy field for pets is just a few feet across the road. Only downside was so much dry dusty dirt. We hosed down the site & road when we could. That helped with the dust a little. When we arrived our site had an issue with the 50amp. The maintenance staff was friendly & worked quickly to resolve it. Later they helped us find someone to fix an issue with one of the vehicles in our group. Their maintenance crew gets 5 stars all around. There were tons of activities. The schedule was packed. Various crafts,, pool workouts, corn hole tournaments, tug-of-war, flag football, a magician, a DJ, & a cover band. The most popular activity seemed to be bingo. Prizes varied from $10 to $180. Bingo was everyday and packed. There are 4 pools. One was adults only, three were families. There was also a toddler pool, a splash pad, and a few hot tubs. The rules are strict though. No diving. No jumping. No pool accessories. No horseplay. No water games. And no food or alcohol in the pool area. "Patrolling" was one of their downfalls. They had a few overzealous staffers with red shirts marked "Ranger". They "patrolled" on foot, by golf cart, on bikes, & in vehicles. I thought their "bike unit" was pretty aggressive. Often stopping non-helmeted bikers or counting campers at campsites. But when the "rangers" switched to vehicles, they drove way above the 8 mph speed limit to "catch" rogue campers on golf carts to tell them to drive slower. Overall the campground was great. Tips: Bring bike helmets for riders. (This was strictly enforced.) Don't forget anything. Store is small & stock was limited. As in if you run out of camper toilet paper, you need to take a 15 min drive to Walmart to get some. They don't carry it. Bring quarters & detergent for laundry. They didn't have a working change machine or laundry vending machines. Bring string lights if possible. It's pretty dark. Dog park is small like super small. Avoid sites in "The Meadows" area. The owner sites are nice but the rentals look they belong in 8-mile. No lie you might need a tetanus shot after a stay in one of them

Everything the owner sold out and a new person bought everything, he has let the park go…read morecompletely, the people that live there seasonal alot of them are very unhappy with their associates and the new development. Now they have a creamery and no more icecream truck that frequently came through, she was amazing she had everything the kids wanted and her prices were so low , she was kind and considerate to everyone. The prices for a seasonal is absolutely ridiculous 6,000 up to 8,000 this isn't Jamaica.

This place is tucked away from the beaten path and is a diamond in the rough. The staff is friendly and are from the local area so they can guide you to wherever. Every person that we have dealt with has been kind and polite and helpful. It is a nice quiet place, not for kids and for us old folks that is just fine. They do not allow tents and every site has sewer. The swimming pond with its fountain is cute and there is a catch and release pond. Saturday night they had guys playing cd's of music that we enjoyed and yet it wasn't overpowering. This is probably my favorite campground in my brief 2 year experience in camping but I will definitely be back. It is just what we look for, quiet, woodsy and relaxing. And very nice people.

Stayed here with my family from Saturday July 13th-Thursday July 18th 2024…read more Checked in at about 1:06pm. This was Melville Pond RV Park, but then switched hands to Newport RV park. Check in process was easy, However, we did have to move sites from 426 to 431 because we didn't fit. We also couldn't take out any tables or chairs had we stayed in spot 426. We have a long 5th wheel trailer with slides so, we need like lots of room. Luckily called the office and was able to switch spots. That seemed to work, and we had more room to set up our table and chairs. Once we completed set up, we tried to set up the tvs. For some reason, if you have a roku tv, don't expect it to connect to the internet, at least from the site we stayed at. Failed to connect several times, and we had to constantly rescan the tv channels because of all 78 channels only a few were coming in clearly. I found things to watch on my own, with the channels that came in properly like history. Anyways, campground was very quiet, and even with a nearby town dog park, it was pretty good, and quiet. Close to newport and about 30 minutes to Province. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Gosh, where to begin? We were going to pass through CT to…read moremake it to PA to spend the night when our diesel truck started having serious problems. I quickly looked for a campground hoping they could take us, and that the truck could make it there. As we came limping in, Josh met us to help us quickly park. It soon became apparent, we were going to need a place to stay for several days. Doug, the owner, worked with us in every way, to ensure we were welcomed and would continue to have a place to stay while our truck was being taken for repairs. What a beautiful place to spend an unexpected week. The lake, hiking and amenities are amazing, but the best thing about Wilderness are the people! Saturday night Doug and his wife, Holly, hosted a gathering. We immediately felt right at home with so many friendly people, it was like a family gathering. We even won a gift card to a local restaurant!! We stayed for a week, and now we have a new favorite to add to our destinations! We really look forward to returning, only under better circumstances next time. Thank you Doug, Holly and Josh!!

The WiFi was great and the owners were very kind and helpful! Spots looked a little tight but we got in fine. Only issue we ran into was with water - the plumbing they installed is insufficient for the amount of people using the water (too small of pipe size installed underground). Due to this, the water pressure disappears during busy times of day (mornings and evenings). If you turn on your pump to supplement the water and just remember to refill the tank before leaving, you'll be fine. Overall, a great spot for a safe place to sleep.

We called a total of 3 times about this spot since it was "cash only" and the 3rd time we were informed we wouldn't be able to stay due to the spot being occupied by the previous party who had yet to leave. We were set to arrive at 4pm and were 4 hours in to a 6 hour drive and were forced to pull over on the side of the road in the rain to attempt to find last minute reservations elsewhere. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere with a little more security instead of someone who just changes their mind and doesn't have the decency to call and let people know ahead of time.
