The website is pretty good & I was so looking forward to a long weekend tent camping. . There have a crazy train -- enough said! ! The staff were friendly & welcoming. Check in was quick & easy. Map was well detailed so it was easy to find my site. Tent site was pretty big, impressive. It was clean & the whole campground was well maintained. There's a center pavilion with picnic tables & evening snackbar. Bingo was going on while I went to the pool for a quick swim before dinner. Kayak rentals as well as paddleboats. The lake actually goes out to the Moosup River with walking trails around. Elvis, performed Saturday night and it was awesome! ! There's a campstore well stocked for all your camping needs. Across the way is the Lucky Strike mine so you can pan for treasures. It was fun!! Staff was such a presence in the park, it was good to see them driving around, talking with campers, collecting trash, cleaning the restrooms, enforcing quiet hours. It was such a good camping experience, I look forward to going back. Definately make a trip & check this place out!! So worth it!!

I was just here this past weekend for a music festival, and this was the perfect venue for it…read more The grounds are gorgeous, with plenty of space for camping. Lots of waterfront camping space, but if you actually want to be able to sleep in on those hot summer mornings there's also lots of space in the wooded areas to camp. Everything was really clean upon arrival (as clean as it can be for being a camping area) and was kept as such throughout the weekend. Not an easy task when you have 500+ people traipsing around. There's two sets of restrooms (with running water) and the ones at the front also have 2 showers in each bathroom (mens and womens). The showers were much great, hot and good water pressure. There's also a concession area right as you arrive at the campground which carries smaller items (sunglasses, waters, etc) and are super reasonably priced. The only downfall is that you can't swim in the lake (at least not when I was there), but it's a bit murky so I'm not sure if one would want to. They do rent out paddleboats and canoes though for $50 a day with a $50 refundable deposit. There's also some pretty good fishing in the lake. One of my favorite things about this place was the fact that the owner, John, was always on hand. Interacting with patrons, making sure things were running smoothly. He really did a great job of making us feel welcomed. I'll definitely be returning next year :D

If by quiet retreat you mean loud music, drunken seasonal campers and a mildly absent owner this is…read morethe place for you. If you're thinking this is a family campground and taking your kids be ready to explain a lot of behavior. Like drinking and driving golf carts? Blasting music till quiet hour while harassing weekenders who drive 1mile over the 5mph speed limit? Then this place is for you. Fear not if you've run out of booze, there's a fully functioning bar down back. Bored? Have you ever been in a knife fight? Well that happens here to. The owner (Kim) doesn't keep track of paperwork or your deposit so I suggest you do. It's the same crafts for the kids it's been for the 5 years we were seasonal. The electric is severely outdated and the WiFi isn't strong enough to actually use it. Dogs are allowed to bark nonstop and if you complain be ready to be told "that's what dogs do". The upgrades to the campground are nonexistent but the upgrades shes made to her house that's on the same property are definitely noticeable. Just know your money isn't going into the campground it's going to her house. Just go to George Washington. It's right down the road. It's quiet, peaceful and clean. No drunks and excessively loud live music. It's a campground not a bar.

Have been here multiple times last year and this season.. by far the best value around…read more If you like privacy, clean public areas, themed weekends with great live entertainment at the rec hall you gotta check it out. Plus the wifi service covers the whole place, if your job follows you. The Owners are so accommodating..
