Lots of waterfront camping space, but if you actually want to be able to sleep in on those hot summer mornings there's also lots of space in the wooded areas to camp. Everything was really clean upon arrival (as clean as it can be for being a camping area) and was kept as such throughout the weekend. Not an easy task when you have 500+ people traipsing around. There's two sets of restrooms (with running water) and the ones at the front also have 2 showers in each bathroom (mens and womens). The showers were much great, hot and good water pressure. There's also a concession area right as you arrive at the campground which carries smaller items (sunglasses, waters, etc) and are super reasonably priced. The only downfall is that you can't swim in the lake (at least not when I was there), but it's a bit murky so I'm not sure if one would want to. They do rent out paddleboats and canoes though for $50 a day with a $50 refundable deposit. There's also some pretty good fishing in the lake. One of my favorite things about this place was the fact that the owner, John, was always on hand. Interacting with patrons, making sure things were running smoothly. He really did a great job of making us feel welcomed. I'll definitely be returning next year :D

The campground itself is secluded and quiet. There are spots for RV and tent camping. Bathrooms are extremely clean and well kept. The lady that runs it is super nice, but don't speed on her grounds or she will destroy you. The lake is home to all kinds of wildlife and teeming with fish. Whether you have a ski boat or a canoe it is accommodating! Overall a great place to get away and enjoy nature!! Just don't tell anyone I told you about the secret spot.

Rock (1-2") covers the entire drive with pot holes and speed bumps thrown in to test your driving skills. Several times, the water pressure dips to 20psi. There are many full time residents here. Some work for the campground. It does get very dark and quiet at night - which is great. We honestly can't get over how much "weed" we smell all the time. It's legal here but it can get overwhelming. Supposedly, it's allowed if you use inside your unit. Can't say I would recommend this place.

We had site C-16, and the way the have the power and water arrangement, we had to run 50ft of hose and 30 amp cord. Their corroded 30 amp power melted the connections on both my cords and blew out my power awning. We could smell something burning, electrical, but didn't find it until we packed up on Monday to leave. I took pictures of their power supply and both my 30 amp cables. I sent them an email Monday when we got home, explaining what happened. No reply. I sent another email less than two weeks later, no reply. Now I have to have my insurance company involved. Pictures attached. I've been camping 50 years and NEVER had this problem anywhere else. I will not return. Just the lack of replies from the campground is enough for me to warn everyone to stay away!

The pond has a current so it's not stand still in most spots. There is a drive down dock away from the beach area. There are picnic tables at each site and Porto potties around the campground. Each area has a bathroom with showers. The showers take Quarters to turn on. But the water stays a perfect temperature for showering. There were lots of animal sounds at night. It was very entertaining. And just didn't like the mice and dead mouse and the candy machine, when we told somebody about it it remained plugged in for a while. Arcade has a change machine what some of the games eat your money. There's no alcohol allowed but you can bring your dog

It's too bad there isn't much room between them. We had to set up the queen blow up mattress in front of the cabin door and shuffle by to get out. Lol. 2 adults and 2 dogs filled the place. It was a great time. We used the picnic table and the fire pit and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I am glad they now allow dogs in the cabins.

I believe you can check in without a staff member present but it was helpful to ask a few questions since it was our first time there. It would be helpful if our pre reservation details told us when the check in station would be staffed so you don't miss the window if you can avoid it! Check in was easy and navigating the camp sites is very easy, even in the dark. We stayed at one of the hike in sites and it was a great time. We were able to find plenty of sticks to make a fire without bringing any of our own wood in. I love that the sites are pet friendly! One group came in after us and was at the site next to us, which was a little louder than we'd hoped. Some sites are nicely placed with a hill obscuring the adjacent sites but this one we could clearly see each other - perhaps due to the leaves falling off the trees. Highly recommend doing the rest of the loop back to the car along the lake, it is so beautiful and mossy! We will be back!

You're not allowed to bring a single beer in but the entire place is Cheech&Chong movie. I literally gagged on weed smoke the entire weekend. People walking around the beach, around kids, smoking. Aggressive dogs barking at everyone. The site across from me had 4 vehicles and six tents. They didn't even fit in the site, they were literally back in the woods. It was beyond loud. No one around and no one said anything. Some idiot was flying a drone with a camera over my site. I'm done with this place. It's gone downhill and no one cares what goes on. No enforcement for noise after quiet hours.

I'm just extremely confused on why we still have these stigmas in 2025 and think it needs to be changed. Dogs attitudes are a product of the owners training. Just because a specific dog breed needs more stimulation, enrichment and training to behave correctly does not mean all dogs that belong to that breed are aggressive. Unless you have a golden retriever, i'd steer clear of this place.

I stayed at a Ponkapoag tent site last summer and had a wonderful time. The lake is calm and…read morebeautiful, and there are extensive trails for hiking. I can't speak to the cabin experience, but the camp as a whole is easy to access yet also allows you to feel like you've escaped the city. The tent sites are clean, spacious and have a fire pit and a picnic table. The one we were at (and I think all of them...) have private lake access, meaning you can step out of your tent and walk straight into the water for a cool morning swim or even to fish (if you have a permit!). There is also a sanctioned swim area for children and families where there are safety ropes and water toys for everyone's use. The whole experience was restful and easy to execute. I would absolutely go again.

It's an escape from reality and you feel like at peace. If I could live here I would. Plus it's also really cheap. This place holds a very important place in my heart. They allow dogs and they have many trials. My family has been going here for over 60 years. Their no electricity or running water but I think that adds to the experience of being in nature and excluded to the outside world. Truly an amazing place!

There is a septic service that comes every 2 weeks. We genuinely loved our stay with our beloved dog. Neighbors were quiet and friendly. There is a beautiful beach with gorgeous views of the lake. Our host also owns the AirBnb on the same lot which looks amazing!
