Several seating options from sitting at the large bar, high tops, low tops and a community high top bar. They have a game area with a pool table and a pull tab machine. As far as the food, we ordered the fried pickle spears which are crispy and tasty. The chicken wrap is delicious with some chipotle mayo. My husband said it is one of the best wraps he has eaten. The Rueben was also delicious. The flavor was right on. The burger is a 1/3 pound burger so it is thin like a thawed out frozen patty and not very juicy. It wasn't bad, just not what I would expect from a place like this. I wouldn't order this again. Fries and tots were hot, crispy and flavorful. Now, the staff has been very friendly both times we stopped in. My two cents, two people behind the bar plus the cook is not enough. We noticed they were running around getting orders mixed up, total confusion, people waiting in their checks for a while. They need more staff to help with a busy bar. In the end, the three of us agreed that we definitely had a 5 star experience. We arrived at opening and we happened to be served by the owner himself - a really nice guy. He gave us a brief history of the bar, which is extensive. The Old Saloon has been around with the current name since 1975 (the building is a lot older). The current owner has been at the helm for 30 years! Obviously, he's knows what he's doing. Our food was excellent...everything from the Ellsworth Cheese Curds, the wings, the salad, the burger, the Chicago style hotdog, and the savory mac & cheese soup! Of course, since this is Wisconsin, they have a great selection of beer on tap. The prices were amazingly reasonable to. We probably would have paid double in the Twin Cities. The décor is cool too. Apparently, the owner's wife is the chief decorator and she does a great job. I particularly love the vintage and antique stuff. I entered the dining room off to the north and asked a staff where he would play? She pointed to the area by the host stand. As I began to make my way to the stand to wait to be seated I saw two women vacating a table so I asked them if they were leaving and if I could have their table? I was only there a short few minutes before the bartender came out to ask if I needed a drink or a menu? Also stated she would clean the table. I told her "I saw the wait to be seated sign but nobody was there". She said they do that so the servers don't get overwhelmed. There were a few cocktails that sounded absolutely delicious, but they'll have to wait for another day when I have room in my belly. I opted for the kids grilled chicken tenders, it was like a pounded out chicken breast cut in to strips, perfect enough for me. I like the decor...look up, some of the light fixtures are wagon wheels w lanterns hung from them. Let me tell you, as I asked a fellow who was bopping around all night "are you the manager? Sous-Chef Anthony wasn't good... he was freaking fabulous! I asked him for a sauce lid a bit ago and said don't you dare come back here in two minutes with a lid... I'm here all night!" Anthony replied "I'm not doing anything else at the moment." When he had brought out my food I asked "could you bring out silverware when you get a moment?" Anthony replied "I can do it now, I got you." He was so friendly and attentive, very much appreciated.
