This was such a hidden find! We were recommended this by some friends that stop on their way to the cabin, so we gave it a try - this will definitely be a new staple for us. The inside is cool and modern - I love the giant bar in the middle. If I was from the area, I would definitely get married here! It was cool to be able to see the pizza oven too. Service was great - super fast and timely. We ordered and got our drinks and pizzas so quick, we were back on the road in no time! I feel ill. When they first opened it was really good. It's the only place that I know of in New Richmond to buy a Neapolitan style pizza. Their cocktails used to be amazing. I have to say we noticed those decline a couple years ago. Before tonight we hadn't been there for over a year ... since we tried their Sicilian. There were pieces of random meat on our pizza. There should not have been any meat on this pizza. I'm not vegetarian. I don't mind in that sense but it just seemed like someone tossed the wrong ingredients on and then just decided "whatever" and went to finish the recipe despite the error. The bigger issue for me is that the entire middle of this big doughy pizza was completely under baked and raw. Anyway, fast-forward a year later when I decide to give them another chance, we ordered the Roscoe to go. The bottom of the pizza is burnt so bad that my fingers are blackened by eating it. I am not afraid of a little bit of black here and there, but this was above and beyond, and tasted downright bitter overall. Had we been eating-in I would've returned it to the kitchen immediately. I'd like to give them a third chance but at this point it rather seems unlikely that I will. read more

Popped in Wednesday night for live music. What a great space for it!! The musicians were set up right near the bar, the garage door was open, and the seating is all around!! The music sounded great in the space and the spring air flowed through!! My server Dayton was a delight, she steered me to the May Flowers.... it was a light, subtle cocktail that I sipped fora couple hours. I appreciated that there were two standard height tables near the musicians too, my preferred option! I wanted to give the bourbon cheese dip a try but after discussing the asparagus w Dayton, I opted no dip this time. Whoa! Did you know white asparagus is a thing...it exists?! I did not...and was taken aback when the plate arrived! It's delicious and the sauce it was drizzled in was spicy and delicious as well!. 45th Parallel is great! Walked in on a Saturday evening with a group of four and were seated on the second level. Only downside was that service was a bit slow, but everything else was fantastic! The facility is beautiful, well-thought out, and accommodating. The bonded old fashioned was delicious! We also ordered the soft pretzel which came with a super tasty spicy mustard. Very scenic taproom and kitchen serving up excellent whiskey, gin, aquavit, and vodka. They do a lot of experimental infusions so be sure to check back regularly. We were the first ones there and sat on the patio under the enormous garage door with our dog. No dogs inside, tough. There isn't a ton of seating so I imagine they get pretty busy on nicer days. Their event space is huge so seems like that might be nice. The service was great and they answered all my questions about the various seasonal spirits. The food was all "ok". I was very excited to try the spent grain pretzel but I don't think they use a very high % because it tasted like undersalted, slightly underbaked white bread. It didn't have the browning or crust you expect from a good pub or Bavarian pretzel. Probably wouldn't get it again. The bread and butter was equally disappointing. Almost no flavor but the texture was good. Just grocer store butter and honey. You'd be better off buying a baguette and butter from a local bakery or creamery. I mean, you're in WI so there's probably a great one nearby. The "meat surprise" was also bland and a touch dry. The potatoes were probably the best food we got. Lots of garlic and butter. It was nice but probably not worth a road trip. You can get their spirits at most liquor stores. read more

This is my family's new favorite summertime spot. The patio is a lovely place to be, and the staff clearly love what they do. I especially appreciated the effort put into the mocktail menu. Best of all? The PIZZA. It is about as authentic as you can get outside of Naples... and we've had the best pizza in Naples. We stopped in yesterday to check out 45th Parallel's outdoor farmer's market, which was so much fun on its own. After shopping, we went inside for brunch. Between the four of us, we had the House Pretzel, Farmers Market Board, Breakfast Beef Hash Scramble and Breakfast Pizza. Everything came out looking appealing to the eye, and tasted fantastic. Of course being a distillery, they also have an amazing specialty drink menu and their staff is very knowledgeable about all the offerings on it. Have come here for a tour a couple times, but was finally able to enjoy the "new" dining amd drink hall. I will start by saying go take a tour sometime. Both times were enjoyable and I learned something new both times. You also get to try A LOT of booze at the end of your tour, so eat a hearty meal prior, plan to grab some grab immediately after, or get a sober ride home. Since I recently got to try the dining area (that has been open for...a while), I am super impressed. The bartenders were very helpful and friendly. Tried a couple drinks, an app, pizza, and dessert. We had a friend recommend 45th to us a few months ago when we were attending a wedding and catching up over bloody mary's in our hotel room. When we asked them what the secret was that made this particular one so delicious they let us know it was the dill aquavit from 45th! They highly recommended that we take a trip out and visit on a weekend as it was well worth the experience. We nodded that we would, and as usual, promptly forgot all about it. Flash forward to present day and as luck would have it we had a baby shower that we were going to be attending in New Richmond not far from 45th! We decided we would make the stop by after the shower since we were already in the neighborhood and I am SO glad we did. What a cool set up they have going on, I wish we could've done a tour because I'm sure we would've enjoyed it. We also didn't get a chance to order food (as we were full from the shower) but everything we saw come out from the kitchen area looked ah-ma-zing. They were pretty busy on the Saturday afternoon that we stopped in but they were able to seat us up in the upper area which was kind of fun because it allowed us to people watch and scope out all of the food coming out of the kitchen! Since we were only coming for drinks we did a couple rounds and each tried something a little different so we could get the full experience and literally every drink we had was incredible. Get the How Do You Like Them Apples or Java Mama and thank me later. On our way out we grabbed a bottle of our own dill aquavit and will never look back when making bloodies. Big fan. I wish there was more seating as we've been turned away because they're so busy before and seen it happen to others quite frequently. I love the patio in the summer, but the chairs are not super comfy. Ok to the drinks. Unreal, we've only ever had one drink we didn't like and it was a pumpkin spice cocktail that my husband went out on a limb to try when he normally doesn't like pumpkin spice, don't ask why he ordered it.. The mocktail menu is amazing, the most extensive and crafty mocktail menu I've ever seen. The food and drink menus rotate frequently which I love, but if a drink isn't on the menu, they can likely still make it if you request it. The food is also delicious and they have a Thursday dinner special that is always tasty. I wish there was a nightly dinner special every night. There is a little inconsistency on the food so sometimes things will be very different from visit to visit. I might go out on a limb and say this is my favorite spot in New Richmond.. read more

Best friends ranted and raved about needing to make the trek from Minneapolis to New Richmond to check out this dining experience. The group I went with decided to do the antipasto appetizer to share- a perfect decision as the platter had something for everyone, though all items (especially the blue cheese and olives) were spectacular! I split the Antonio pizza which paired with the appetizer filled me up. As a mushroom lover, this pizza was right down my alley! After loving the Vesper cocktail, I ended up putting full trust in the bartenders and requesting they send up any spirit-forward cocktail they wanted to make- the key lime pie drink I got could only have been made by a bartending wizard!! New Richmond is SO lucky to have this gem, and I drove all the way from Minneapolis to experience it! Some bartenders made the same trek when Marvel bar closed, and their skill is a blessing to rural Wisconsin! All of the bourbon cocktails were my absolute favorite, especially the Gold Rush!! SO amazing, but so was the gimlet so best of luck making your choice! The bartenders are also super personable and helpful with recommendations which can sometimes be missed with necessary COVID service modifications, so I truly appreciated it! Their new barn-style cocktail lounge with the circular bar in the middle and garage doors lends itself well to distancing customers and appropriate ventilation! There is also plenty of outdoor seating with fireplaces to keep you cozy if you prefer. The food options also held their own with the cocktails! The mushroom pizza was just what I needed for dinner and paired well with the drinks! The cheese board is also fire, though, and the bread on it is super tasty! We stopped on a Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the farmers market! After swinging through that, we grabbed a seat at the bar. It's a cool set-up because even sitting indoors it's open to the outside patio. Our bartender was attentive and I could tell he's passionate about the product they make. He talked me into trying a gin drink (with sparkling apple cider)--it was flavorful and enjoyable for a fall day! I don't normally drink gin but like he said, their gin is what turns people who "don't like gin" into gin drinkers. We split the breakfast pizza which was just okay. That Old Fashioned in the second picture is ALLLL theirs They get their grain from Rusmar farm (8 miles away). They then mill mash ferment and distill (makes me think of dodge duck dip dive and dodge ). The spent grain is given to another farm close by for livestock feed... that is eventually processed into fertilizer... which helps in growing more grain! Cue: THE CIRRRRCLE OF LIIIIIIIFE 45th Parallel started in 2007! (It took me this long to get there?!?) Don't miss out people! They believe in a slow fermentation, infusion, distillation, blending, and aging process. No need to rush to produce. The "slow" process helps them create the finest of Midwest craft spirits! Pictured first is the Lady J. Midwest Gin, lime, simple syrup, fresh sage, and egg white. Taylor made this drink and it was phenomenal! I also got to chat with Ryan, the Bar Manager and hear a little of his life story and love for 45th Parallel! Lastly, you probably could have guessed it... the 45th Parallel latitude runs through the distillery (as well as the north part of Minneapolis). Wanted a change of scenery for the weekend so ventured out to WI. So happy we did! What a great gem. The patio is huge and open also has this huge electric fire pit that made it quite toasty for a summer day. The bartenders were extremely friendly and would let you sample spirits before they would make whatever cocktail you liked. The rye aquavit had a dill taste to it which was very interesting and intriguing recommend trying. GOOD: 1. Everything about the distillery, the spirits, the bar, and the booze is amazing - 5 stars! 2. All of our food was very good with incredible flavors. BAD: 1. We were absolutely overwhelmed by flies - yuck! They were landing on my shirt, walking around my legs, landing all over our table, and walking on all of our food - gross! It reminded me of when I worked on dairy farms as a kid. The biologist in me wonders if there's something about mash and the distilling process that attracts flies, like a farm. Whatever the cause, these guys REALLY need to take this issue seriously and come up with a solution. Or if they don't...you can visit in the winter when the flies are all gone. 2. The bottom of our pizzas were soggy. Great flavor...mushy bottoms. This is an easy fix. Use the old pizzeria trick and oil that pie dough before adding toppings, especially toppings with high water content like tomatoes. 3. Our service was super disorganized. Our first food came out with no forks or napkins. Then things were brought to the table out of order...small plates with the pizza and after the pizza. Again, an easy fix. Today, I enjoyed a distillery tour with my wife. We arrived with enough time to go through the gift shop and enjoy a beverage before the tour began. We were able to have a personal tour as we were the only patrons there for the 1pm tour. This allowed me to ask numerous questions; our knowledgeable tour guide, Tobias, was never short on good information and showed passion for explaining the various processes involed in the craft. We come a couple times a year to 45th Parallel Distillery or if we happen to be in the area. This time around we made it over for their bourbon and blue grass festival. The festival never disappoints, excellent music and excellent bourbon. It was $2 for tasting their distilled spirits and if you are a little hungry they had some venders on site. What made this trip special was their limited release bourbon aged in tawny port barrels, it is very smooth and a little thick from the tawny but all in all, excellent. Two buddies and I drove from the Twin Cities to New Richmond to try out a new distillery. For $7 you get a cocktail (I got a rye Manhattan) and a tour with ten tastings. Our tour guide was the owner's dad and super awesome. He told us about how much care they take in making their spirits. My favorite was their dill gin (Smelled like pickles) and their wheat whiskey. AMAZING. I bought some orangecello and a bottle of the wheat whiskey. Great tour and we were the only three on the tour. Highly recommended! read more
