Hudson Tap has the best food downtown and Madison is an incredible server who deserves a raise!

A great local sports bar in the heart of downtown Hudson. We wanted to watch the Broncos/Bills playoff game and ironically there were some random bronco fans walking around. We got a lovely long booth in the corner which was cozy and a little quieter. We grabbed some beverages and an appetizer of chips and the 3 dips. The queso was pretty good but plain (not spicy), salsa (was just okay) and guac (delish). Lots of TVs with lots of different sport options. I also caught the tail end of a great college basketball game too. Annie was our server who was great. I will note that it was super busy at the time with some larger parties requiring separate checks so when we wanted to close out it did take a little time to get our tab. Otherwise great service. So 8/8/2026, we have our grandchildren for the day, we were on an adventure for the day. We did the beach, car show then we were so excited to show them the Hudson Tap. We have eaten their so many times, we have always done our date nights there. We love the vintage video games, the fabulous food and the outstanding service. We got in got a booth, ordered our appetizer and told the waitress we were going to play the video games with the kids and wait until our food comes, we were gone playing games for like 5 to 7 minutes, came back to see if our food was there o ly to discover they cleaned off our table totally, our drinks and appetizer was gone. The hosr came over and said oh I didn't know, she walked to the waitress and they discussed who knows what, then the waitress came back and said here are some waters, your food should be right out. NEVER ONCE DID WE GET AN APOLOGY FOR ANYONE, I THEN ADD GO TO THE BARTENDER TO ASK FOR ANOTHER WATER AND NAPKINS AS FOR THE WAITRESS WAS MORE WORRIED ABOUT THE OTHER TABLES ORDERING DRINKS, NEVER DID WE GET ASKED IF WE WOULD LIKE SOMETHING BESIDES WATER TO DRINK, HOWS THE FOOD THEN I HAD TO ASK FOR THE BILL AND BOXES. BACK TO THE POINT THEY CLEARED OUR TABLE, AND DIDN'T CARE. ONE APOLOGY COULD OF FIXED THIS OUR THING. AND I KNOW YOU REALLY DONT CARE THAT YOU GET A BAD REVIEW. Just a normal towny kind of place. Food came out fast and service was fine. Only thing I didn't like is our table was the closest table to all the pinball machines and games kind of felt like we're just eating at Chuck E. Cheese. Came here during my trip to Minneapolis. Found out it was only a 20 minute drive to Wisconsin. This town was very cool to check out. Small town vibes on a lake. We came here to try cheese curds in Wisconsin! They didn't disappoint! The staff was friendly and the drink specials were good here. May I start off by saying that I am a Pretzel? Okay...my high school mascot was a pretzel and thus, my hometown is obsessed with all things pretzel. That said, I know my way around a good soft pretzel and Hudson Tap has by far, the best I've ever eaten! So good that I went back again during our short, 1-week visit. Also amazing? The super funny and friendly staff (we loved Eric) and the low-key arcade vibes and ample TV's and seating to catch a ball game. Beer was cold and delish, service was fast, and the food was affordable, fresh, and very good. The pretzel I raved about was so dang fluffy and the cheese and mustard were tasty sidekicks. The fried pickles (with ranch-duh!) were flavorful and crisp. So much more "oomph" when they are spears instead of pickle chips. Side house salad was huge with tons of toppings for a small price. I had to share. Another star are the bone-in wings. We got the MN rub and DANG. So good! We even asked if they sell the rub so we could bring it home. The wings were meaty and perfectly cooked with crisp skin and juicy insides. Yes, please. Can't wait to head back here next time we're in town. A bit of a louder place, but love the amount of TV's and atmosphere here. We sat at the bar and had great service. Ordered one of their special seasonal pizza's that had pulled chicken, poblano's, corn and beans, cheese, and a few different Mexican style sauces that were amazing. We also ordered the BBQ pork Mac and cheese that was really flavorful. It came with an herby bread and the pork was super Smokey! We will definitely be back to try the build your own burger among other menu items that caught our eyes. I really hope they make this southwest chicken pizza a regular menu item instead of seasonal, it was that good! read more

Fun for the family with a variety of games, lots of TVs to watch football, great staff

Buzzin from a good time! Came for trivia night and left with a fully belly. Special shout-out to the seasoned sour cream; the most delicious thing on the menu. Extra kudos for having Pistachio Cream Ale on tap. Server was quick and spot on. Ambiance was great with lots of games to stay occupied. This is probably the best place to watch a game in the area. If nothing else, they have the most televisions that I've seen anywhere near the Twin Cities. It's a good atmosphere and people do get into the games, which makes it more exciting to be there. The food is great and you probably can't go wrong with the build your own burger: it will fit your dietary wants and needs. There are lots of beer on tap and at least one non alcoholic beer in cans as well. Seats near the windows in summer are screened in. You are in the great outdoors as well as a great pub. I like the staff as well. They match the fresh energy of the place. I recommend stopping in for a game! read more

Hudson Tap is a great bar on Main Street with excellent food - 4 stars! Next up on my list of Hudson eating adventures was the Hudson Tap... My first impression walking in was: clean, modern, and welcoming. It has a giant bar on the left side that is almost as long as the building - very impressive. They also have quite a few arcade games and some pool tables in back. The food is a step above the usual bar fare. My friend got a burger and I got a 10 inch pizza. Both meals were good (see photos). They also have a nice selection of seasonal specialty cocktails and of course, tons of beer choices. Finally, the customer service was very good. Our server was completely on top of her game. LOVE the new place. Some friends and I went for Sunday afternoon beers and some snacks. Was moderately busy, but we were seated right away. Love the atmosphere, just enough changes to make it cozy. The games are a plus. Very fun environment. Kids welcome, but it's still a bar so I would advise to be respectful of bar patrons and not allow children to run free. GREAT beer selection and knowledgeable server. Not sure what his name was, but he had glasses and dark hair. Nice job, good server! The regular chicken nachos were good, the BBQ pork nachos were just all right but I'm not huge if bbq sauce. I wish we could have gotten regular nachos with pork, but the bbq sauce is already mixed in. My one suggestion, offer pork for all nachos, add bbq per order. I've heard the burgers are great, so we'll have to go back again to try. This is the kind of place Hudson needed. Not super expensive, good selection, not fancy-shmancy, no loud dance music- somewhere nice for us middle agers! Nice job, Hudson Tap. With Hudson Tap being new to the neighborhood we had to try it! We stopped in on a week day about 5pm and bellied up to the bar right away! The decor is great! Video games, tons of TV's, super comfy bar stools! The bartender was attentive and got us drinks and menus. For this visit we decided to go with appetizers. We tried the cheese curds, beef nachos and the Bavarian pretzel. The cheese curds were good. I'd say about half of the curds in the basket were over deep fried and were hard. The other half were ok. The beef nachos were really good! We ran out of all the toppings and were left with a lot of tortilla chips. In my opinion the nachos could use more toppings. Last but not least, the pretzel. It was huge and warm and delish! The only issue we had was the cheese - it was too spicy for us. We will definitely be back to try some entrees! read more

This place offers a wide variety of beers, many I haven't seen elsewhere. There are a multitude of arcade games to play, there's trivia on Wednesdays, and there are TVs to watch sports on. The staff seem content and they're quick, I can't say that about every bar I've visited. The location is convenient and there's 4 hours of free parking right up the hill. read more

Hudson Tap is a great bar and restaurant! Tons of cider beer options which I loved, they have Ciderboys Peach which is one of my faves! The owner Matt is a great guy and works his butt off whether it's cleaning tables, serving food, making drinks, or visiting with guests he does it all! I had the Platinum Bacon Burger which was our server Henry's suggestion and my Husband had the fish fry which was FANTASTIC! Alright this with the alert of it being a new location. Welcoming is great, good vibes, good music , lots of television for those sport nights, and yes plenty of arcade games including classics. Beer selection are actually pretty broad , it's good . I had the Resin and the Fair state Mirror Universe. Not bad. Appetizer: again it's a new restaurant, right off the bat I ordered a cheese curd basket. Yes the portion was kind of sad and low, and it came in an oil bath. Tasty yes, but the oil bath and portion size definitely killed this appetizer compared to other established bars in the area. -($9.99) I wouldn't order again unless they make improvements. I was going to bring my son and two of his soccer teammates here between tournament games. I mentioned it to other parents and we wound up showing up with about 30 people with no advanced notice. The staff was incredibly accommodating and efficient, getting the orders of everyone including 13 ten year old boys running around playing video games. They did a perfect job getting all the orders right and billing the right parent for each kid. The food was great too! I loved my burger and everyone else said similar things. First time here, came on football Sunday. Our server was Jami, she was wonderful and attentive. We had chips and guacamole which was decent, could use a little kick but still decent. We had the birria tacos, they were good, especially for a bar. I love that they used pickled onions. Served with chips and salsa. I also ordered a side salad which was an exceptional portion. Came in with a client at 9 on a Tuesday night to watch the brewers and discuss some business. Waited over 40 minutes for food from the kitchen. Food came out cold that had obviously sat for an extended period of time. Ordered a medium rare burger. Beef was well done and dry. My client ordered mac and cheese, came out worse than the burger. When the manager came to address our concerns, he was less than professional. I was embarrassed, my potential client was completely turned off. Any place if business I choose to bring clients to, even a relaxed environment, is a reflection in myself. I will not be returning. read more

1st time here. Food was decent. Service was disappointing. We came to celebrate my wife's birthday today. We sat at the bar and we saw there were several others celebrating birthdays. I told both bartenders it was her birthday today. We each had 2 drinks. Typically as a courtesy a bar will give you a free birthday drink. We did not get one for my wife. Yet next to us a group said it was the girls birthday. The female bartender said what do you want she didn't know. So the bartender she surprised her. The girl said she didn't like it so the bartender, she said Il get you something else and she did. Upon getting our bill we learned my wife never got her drink free but the other girl got 2 free. Apparently you need to be in your 20's to get a free drink for your birthday. Service was slow and they cater to the young crowd. Also the young guy on our other side complained his bacon on his burger was not crisp enough and they took it back. If you are over 35 or 40 don't bother going to this place. You aren't their priority of their clientele. I am being nice with 2 stars. Too bad we won't be back to try the other food on the menu. Oh I also inquired about the strawberry rhubarb gin. She said it is good. I asked how do people get it with tonic or on the rocks? She said as a gimlet is quite good. I said I'll try it. It was awful. She said most people like it. No redo, nothing. Interesting addition to Hudson. Trying hard to replicate hipster places in the big city. Lots of variety of games, thats the good part and it ends there. We ordered chips salsa and queso from the bar and were seated at a table. 25 minutes after we were seated no waitress in site. The food came and thats where it really goes downhill. The menu stated house fried tortilla chips and homemade queso. If those chips are fried in house I am a monkeys uncle. Salsa can best be described as pace mixed with ketchup. Queso had flavor but clearly tasted from a bag or can. I had high hopes for the new addition to Hudson but will save it for playing games after I have eaten. We have been here 3 time so far. First time was the first week it was open and we got a table right away. Food was great, we got the build your own burgers, pretzel, and cheese curds. The cheese curds were in an oil bath as a previous poster said, the turkey burger option was awesome! Kids loved their food and had a blast playing games and pool. The problem is, that because people are coming and want to drink and play games and not leave. So if you wait for a table, they can't even give you a time frame because they don't know if anyone is just eating and leaving, or staying all night for games. They need to get back on the "wait-list" option on Yelp so we don't have to wait 2 hours for a table there, we could wait at home. The second time we went , we waited for an hour and 45 min for a table and by the time we left there was still 4 tables ahead of us. We were 7th on the list at 5pm on a Saturday. By 6:45 we left. Third time we tried we asked how long is the wait, the hostess said she couldn't know because people come and never leave...... Exactly.... So there were 4 parties waiting already, so we just left. They need to figure out a system for people who wanna stay all night or who just want to eat and go. Also could stand to figure out the pool situation as no one can be sitting around the windows if your trying to play pool, the cue hits the table along the window wall. read more

We came here for dinner the other night. What a fun place. We had a couple of beers, burgers and an app. Everything was great! Our server was very helpful and friendly. I built my own burger and my husband ordered one off the menu. For an app we ordered cheese curds and I have to say they are the best I have ever had, I'm super picky too ;) Kids menu was great too, they serve the kids drinks in a cute cup which our toddler enjoyed!
