Strap in because you better believe I have some things to say about Salted Brick at Trilogy. I live in Florida in the winter months to compete with my horses and we were all excited about the new restaurant, despite the moronic name. A lot of the regulars here are seniors and it makes me wonder if dementia is contagious. The wait staff here is comically futile. Despite my grim premonitions after meeting our host and waitress I still had high hopes for the food here at Trilogy. I won't keep you wondering: the entire dining experience was nothing short of deplorable. I began with a vodka soda and my waitress asked me "what kind of soda" I held my tongue and responded "Club soda- you know, like sparkling water" this seemed to blow her mind and I was given a vodka Sprite. I sent my drink back and the waitress proceeded to bring me a vodka tonic. I sent the drink back again. What do you know they did get it right on the third try! Great start Salted Brick. I started by splitting a pizza with my friend. Mentioning that I was a vegetarian, we ordered the Bacon Bianca with NO Bacon. I was disgusted to find bacon hidden under my cheese. This is a huge faux pas from any restaurant. Dietary restrictions are often vital to one's health and the fact that this happened without apology still upsets me. Next I ordered the Caesar salad "Can't go wrong" I thought...I was mistaken as I shrieked upon finding a DEAD LADY BUG in my romaine. How gross is that?! At this point I had lost my appetite but we were here for a birthday dinner and I humbly watched my family as they poked and prodded at their meals before ending with the chocolate cake. The cake was covered in a sticky red gel that I assumed to be their attempt at Raspberry Sauce. The cake itself was dry and the frosting was so sugary i found it inedible. When we finally got the bill I was stunned to find that our waitress had charged me for my Caesar salad despite the fact that a deceased bug was on it. Not to mention the pizza! I made a scene about this and eventually she took the salad off of the bill. The Salted Brick is a classless joke of an establishment. By far one of the top 5 worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. read more

Extremely limited menu to choose from and were only serving breakfast entrees and even that was limited. We made our choice to try this place from the photos posted on yelp. I've eaten here twice now as I live in the area but not within the gated community of Trilogy. The first time I ate there was for lunch with a friend. I had their citrus salad and based upon the recommendation of our waitress added Salmon to it and followed her suggestion to have the dressing changed to their champagne vinaigrette. It was easily among the top 10 salads I have ever eaten. It was excellent! The second visit was for dinner and I had the special of the evening which was a crab ravioli. While it was very rich, it was excellent and I had leftovers the following day. On both occasions my friends were very satisfied with their meals as well. A real miss. Food came out looking nothing like the menu description. Pastawith creamy basil was oily pesto sauce with no crab or mushrooms as advertised. 3 pieces of bbq chicken consisted of two wings and a very small thigh. Plate had corn instead of collards that were advertised. Waiter had us pick up the corn off our plates and grill be them to him before we got the collards. Hope they didn't reuse that corn ! The food here was very good. We went on a Saturday night (we had reservations because was not sure how busy this place would get). The restaurant is beautiful. Ordered the baked Brie appetizer to start with (delicious). I had the grouper sandwich and my husband had the flatbread. Our server Ruby definitely went above and beyond. Would definitely go back. Wonderful little hidden gem. We sat outside, which was intimate and cozy because it overlooked the pond. This restaurant is tucked inside a community, but is easy to find. There were two waitresses serving us and they did a wonderful job. They were attentive and helpful in answering all our questions. We got the loaded house made chips for free when we checked in on Yelp! Do it-they're yummy! They are topped with bleu cheese and balsamic glaze. They also served us complimentary bread on a skillet-warm and delicious! For our main course, we decided on the meatloaf. Our server said this is also made in-house. A group of eight played golf at a nearby golf course and we saw that the Salted Brick was just minutes away. I made a reservation and found out that this was trivia night for the community and no indoor seating was available. This was fine as we were offered outdoor seating on the patio. It worked out well since we had played golf in the rain all afternoon and we were muddy and wet. The restaurant was easily found since we knew it was within the Trilogy housing development. Our server, Angie, did a great job handling our group. She was attentive and responded quickly to our requests. Only one person had a problem with her adult beverage and she ordered a different drink as she could not drink the first. No appetizers were ordered. Our entrees included the BBQ chicken sandwich, the Spicy Italian pizza, roast beef, shrimp and crawdad grits, chicken Alfredo and the Brick Dip. I had the chicken sandwich and was disappointed that it did not come on the brioche bun and the chicken breast was tiny. My fries were a bit soggy but edible. The Spicy Italian pizza was not spicy at all but still very good. Everyone else was quite pleased with their entrees! As a huge coffee fan, I found theirs to be outstanding. We will return! Despite nice decor, the menu, service, and experience was inferior to what we typically have experienced at a local diner. This is a true top country club restaurant experience hidden in the new Trilogy at Ocala Preserve. It is open to the public, no age limits, even though the development is a 55+ residence. Just drive up to entrance gate to check in that you are going to Salted Brick. Very friendly security. My favorite dishes include the Miso Ahi and the Country Style Meatloaf. My husband and I like to eat at the bar looking out over the beautiful lake and golf course. There are great booths and high tops if you prefer and outside dining when weather permits which is most of the time. My server was Kayla last week and I give her a 10 for excellent! Very knowledgeable attentive and miss personality. I look forward to treating myself at least once a week before I do my weekly shopping at Publix just down the road on Highway 27. Try it! First off, the building and grounds are gorgeous and there is a wonderful view from the outdoor seating areas. I went Sunday and the food menu was limited to their brunch specials, so I expected it to be excellent. What I got was a turkey bacon club, missing the bacon, that took nearly 45 minutes to come out of the kitchen. When I asked about the bacon they comped 10% of my sandwich....Ummmm?? Turkey, bacon, bread; This isn't difficult. My companion had $23 pan fried crabcakes and said they were cold when they came out. They do have bottomless Bloody Mary's and Mimosas on Sunday, and the bartender did a nice job with mine. read more

Server was friendly and attentive throughout our lengthy dinner. Cocktails were delightful and $5 special for a correctly made old fashioned is a treat! French onion soup had a nice ratio of cheese, bread, and onion, and the broth was so flavorful. They happily accommodated our request to add jalapeños to the chicken quesadilla, which was loaded with tender chicken and accompanied by fresh pico de gallo, sour cream, and a tangy remoulade-type sauce. Prime rib was juicy. Server was forthright about which seafood was fresh, and the walleye tasted wonderful: flaky and buttery as it should be. Our key lime tart didn't last long--so delicious with a crumbly crust and tart yet creamy filling. Atmosphere that simultaneously feels cozy yet spacious, like a perfectly designed mountain cabin. Everyone, from the gated entrance to the bartender, was a joy to encounter. Absolutely will return and recommend! Hopefully it remains open to the public for a long time! read more

The earlier reviews concerned me but I reserved anyway...glad I did. Nice restaurant with view over the lake. The service was fantastic and the fish and chips were some of the best I've had. The waitress was incredible attending to all our needs and following up. The location is tricky because it is in the Trilogy club house but once we found it we were glad we did! I am a retired Judge and sometimes fussy about eating out but I give this place 4 stars! Will be returning for more! Some of the review might be related to where we were seated at a table with the chair next to the bar which was crowded (630PM) - about 3 deep. The noise prevented any communication (including with the waitress!). It did get better around 715PM, but increased again after the music ended in the other room (8PM) when those patrons came to the bar. The brussel sprouts appetizer was wonderful! The stir fry was excellent, a little different, one side of the plate was chinese cabbage. The meatloaf was burned on one side, but cutting that off, and it was tasty. Service was slow (we were there for 1.45 hours), but they really were customer oriented. Not a good place for a first or romantic date. read more

Driving south on Hwy. 75 we needed to stop for dinner. This looked very appealing and was on our way. Turns out that this restaurant is part of a gated community, and a little off the beaten path. However, everything we had was very delicious. Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had outside of London. My hubby had the baked French onion soup and a shrimp BLT. They were both extremely delicious. If we ever pass this way again it is well worth the stop. Service was also top notch and prices were reasonable. Classy decor. read more

The restaurant is in the clubhouse overlooking the water and the golf course - such a beautiful setting. The food, the atmosphere and the service were perfect. This restaurant used to be great! I had quite a few good meals here but the last two times (since their newest menu) were awful!! Tonight, I got the grouper sandwich and it was completely raw in the middle!!!! I sent it back and got the bolognese which was extremely underwhelming - little meat to the sauce and the bread it came with was stale and spongy, but at least it was safe to eat. My mom had gotten the bolognese before and said it was great, so not sure if it's who was cooking tonight or what but it wasn't good. Then the last time we came I got the stir fry which was swimming in salty sauce and inedible! Somehow this review posted before I was finished. First they no longer have the loaded homemade chips, but they comped usBavarian pretzel with beer cheese sauce, delicious. Wife ordered the truffle Mac and cheese and said it was very good except for the piece of plastic she found while chewing on a forkful. Showed the manager the piece of plastic and she offered to replace her dish but my wife declined as she knew that it would take some time to replace her lunch. I had the meatloaf and it was good. All in all it was good but I have to give it only three stars as I felt that they should have reduced the price on the Mac and cheese for the plastic. read more
