Finally tried salt and straw. It was good but I didn't like the waffle cone. Service was impeccable and there are a few seats outside to chat.

Ordered 4 pints of ice cream for dessert for delivery. Ice cream came in great condition and all the flavors were good. I wish we had a salt & straw closer to me, I would definitely be a regular. I also was the only one to finish my pint...it was something with cookie dough, can't remember the exact name, but it was thaaat good. They also had a really weird seasonal flavor: turkey stuffing which I would've asked for a sample if I had gone into the shoo haha.

Always a delight to come to Salt & Straw. I love that they can take multiple parties to test taste flavors before choosing a winner. They have some seating outside which is nice. The guy who helped out my family was friendly and I ended up choosing the cinnamon snickerdoodle and it was delicious!

Exception service here on a gloomy weekend morning. But sometimes you're just craving. Metered Street Parking only. No seating inside but there is a patio in front. Yes it's expensive but if you're doing a little treat you can't beat the flavors they offer! I got the strawberry balsamic. It's sounds odd, but try it!

Stopped in for a little mid day snack Good service and cute quaint spot in busy WEHO Had a scoop of honey lavender ice cream very delicious

First things first; parking is INCREDIBLY tricky in this part of WeHo. There is metered street parking and temporary residential free street parking nearby but after 7 pm you cannot park in the residential areas at all. Parking was so challenging when we came, I actually parking on Santa Monica / Doheny's metered street parking and walked over. Known for their slightly esoteric flavors, Salt & Straw (though a bit pricy!), remains a very popular and very LA ice cream stop! They carry vegan and dairy flavors and allow sampling before ordering (10000% recommend as some flavors are a bit,, unique). We came by on a weekday evening and it was popular even as it became 10 - nearly 11 pm! Strawberry and Coconut Water Sherbet 5/5, this was a light, fruity sherbet that reminded me of gelato. I normally get the Honey Lavender from here but after a big dinner I was in the mood for something lighter and this was incredible.

I love getting salt and straw ice cream! They have regular flavors and seasonal offerings that are usual and different. Cute neighborhood and small amount of outdoor seating available. Friendly staff in store. Street parking in the area.

I am simply OBSESSED. I've had S&S several times now and it never disappoints. They have the best honey lavender ice cream I've had to date, and it's on their permanent menu so always available! They additionally do monthly themed flavors, and there is inevitably always at least one that sounds incredible... my favorite month is usually May because the flavors are floral but I've had amazing options in all the months! The toppings are also fun; while I recognize it is a novelty more than anything, they do have an edible "ice cream perfume" for an extra dollar or so. The staff at S&S are also just the nicest people - even tho it's always busy, they will let you sample as many flavors as you want until you know what you'd like to order. They are really, really kind! Can't wait to come back to LA this year, I'll be coming back to S&S for the 10th time or so now lol. Don't miss out!

I have had some great experiences with this chain, and this review will spotlight some examples as to why. This store sits in Heart of Pride. For those who are not familiar, West Hollywood, especially this strip of Sunset Blvd (near La Cienaga) pulsates with clubs and stores that are frequented by those in the LGBT+ community. That is why the avenue serves as the stretch for Weho's Carnaval a celebration of all things queer. My mom and I one time went to the last Carnaval on the day when the parade will be held. My mom went, and I borrowed a seat from the establishment. She sat up close to view the parade but soon return to the patio area because too many people were blocking her view. So the sits of Salt and Straw served as our private box for Weho's Parade during for my mom and I. I assume that people who watch the Super Bowl from private boxes, almost next to the field, with caviar and champagne, feel something akin as I did, being at this Salt and Straw Patio. As we waited my mom and I met a mother and daughter. We started to talk about what it means to be a parent for a queer child. The other woman, she was a teacher, and she said, "a lot of people think that having a queer kid is the sad thing, but the sad thing really is being a parent of a queer kid and not accepting them with love." I did not say the words but a message that I wanted my mom to hear was said out loud, on Parade day of Weho Carnaval celebrating Pride, on ground that pulses pride. It was affirmation on theme and on beat. Oh, and before we all engaged in deep dialogue we four shared our pronouns, including my mom. While we did all that we enjoyed ice cream. A few nights ago, I went, and I met one of their staff members Chichi. She eventually felt comfortable enough to tell me that she knows that her name means something in Spanish, but in her native Nigeria, it means if I remember correctly, messenger of God, or something akin. But her name was certainly something for God. Like I know her name does not mean plumber of God, florist for God, but it was something close to messenger, which was appropriate because I felt kindness from the universe in her. And if something divine was choosing me for a message I hope it was delivered with kind notes. I approached her and I asked her for samples from their Berries Series, that are limited edition. I did 2 to 5. I did not ask for one. And she said ok, like I was not asking her for more than I deserved. She was vibing with my request. My plan was to sample and dash, but then the flavors put a wrench in the hope. I had to savor. Each of the four flavors, listed in the picture, was a moment of damn this is better than ice cream this is a dessert to be savored in a small spoon. For example, Oishii Strawberry and Pretzal Salad. The fact that Oishii was in red was just a detail that when stopped and analyzed becomes an an ancient oak of a moment. I tasted it and the flavor was there, the tartness from the strawberry, the crunch and whimsy of the pretzel, it was a combination that was odd but still worked with pizazz, kind of like Harajuku fashion. I eventually decided I would allow myself one scopp, no cone. But would I get the Oishii (which I loved if I was not clear) or the Huckeberry Cornbread Pudding? All four flavors where new and freh and tasted like new forms of joy for the taste buds. Then Chichi said get one scoop but make half Oishii and half cornbread--- genius!!!! I never have heard about it but it makes total sense, not like getting half a slice of pepperoni and the other half of the same pizza mushroom. I would get both flavors in one cup and not splruge. Eventually, she gave me two scoops of each so I am not sure if I misudnerstood her words, or if I ordered too much, or what, but the idea in concept is great and will try it next time I go to a Salt and Straw. Cause now there has to be a next time cause of the new flavors--- damn they were innovative! In the time I selected and paid, Chichi told me a bit of her, and by the end there was a small line behind me yet I never feel rushed. The moment belonged to me and she did not rush me along. She took the time to let me savor the flavors of the day, she held me in chat, and she held me in small joy. So the meaning of her name kind does fit right?

September Menu. I had the Green Apple Wasabi. Loved it! Surprisingly not very spicy and just a little bit of a kick at the end. Refreshing!

Huge fan of Salt and Straw. Every month they have special flavors and there is always a vegan option. This year I visited Salt and Straw during the month of September. During September the specials are called The Apple Series. The vegan option was a weird one. It was called Green Apple Wasabi Sorbet. I was hesitant to try this flavor. I've had wasabi many times with my sushi and I make sure only to put a very small amount on my rolls as it can be very spicy. I let the associate at the counter know about my worries. She told me that most wasabi in the United States is really horseradish. Horseradish has a very strong flavor. However, this ice cream is made with true wasabi which is much milder in flavor. I decided to try it and was surprised that the apple was so refreshing and the little wasabi kick at the end was truly very light and satisfying. It was not the spicy I need water now emergency I was scared of. It actually had a bit of sweetness to it. I LOVE this flavor. I was surprised. I do suggest it even if you are hesitant. I came here after eating pizza and it was the perfect accompaniment to cleanse my palette. Not too sweet like a dessert but extremely satisfying in its sweetness and purity. I ended up getting a small and splitting it with a friend. I did not snap a picture of it as we were hungry but it was a beautiful light green color. Reminded me of Granny Smith apples. Also of note in this series is the Caramel Apple Sherbet. It was good but more dessert-like and sweeter than what I had. The associate said that the sherbet is non-dairy but the flavor is a dairy flavor because of the caramel. Wish they would make this flavor with non-dairy caramel so it could also be another non-dairy flavor. I don't think the non-vegans would notice much of a difference! Salt and Straw is very clean and they have tables and chairs outside to sit which I enjoy. Their Halloween menu is coming up in October and it's always a treat! I highly suggest the vegan special Blackberry Tamale. I look forward to it every year. Located across the street from Pavilions. Metered parking on the street.

Wow! This was my first time at salt and straw and it was so amazing! I absolutely loved trying all the new and interesting flavors! Didn't realize there could be so much savory ice cream flavors. We got the Chocolate brownie and Wild Berry Pie flavors and they were great - would get these again!

I love Salt & Straw! They always have unique delicious flavors. I also love how you can taste new flavors before you buy them. I always get Honey lavender because it's a mellow tasting ice cream that's so delicious. It mainly tastes like honey with hints of lavender. It's creamy but also very light. My boyfriend always gets the Coffee & Love Nuts flavor in addition to whatever new flavor we both try. Being that we get to sample the ice cream we knew we would enjoy it so that's a plus everytime as I mentioned! The service is great. The staff always has a great attitude. The ambiance is also good, casual. Will definitely be going back!

Went last night with my dad had the cinnamon snickerdoodle and my dad had gooey chocolate brownie. Really good stuff as soon as you walk in it smells amazing. You can tell the quality of everything is above and beyond. Previously, I had been here two years ago and because of my severity of my nut allergy, I had come in and they had told me to walk right out as they so-called couldn't help me. The staff last night made me feel welcomed beyond belief. I highly recommend this location. It's right next to the pavilion's grocery store.

The mint chip ice cream was not overwhelmingly minty nor did it taste like toothpaste. Turkish coffee tastes just like a light and creamy coffee. Earl grey was overly floral and didn't have much tea taste. Strawberry was a nice fruity flavor. Seating is mostly outside except for small tables inside. I'm absolutely in love with their cucumber ice cream, saffron, and their falude, which is a delicate blend of noodles, rosewater, and ice. The prices are fair not too high, not too low which is perfect for indulging in a special treat. That said, the staff could definitely improve. I noticed they often hire teens who are just on their phones or chatting, and it would make a big difference if they stayed more focused, especially on cleaning the glass display, which gets smudged often. Still, I give this place 5 stars because the flavors and quality of ice cream are top-notch. I just hope the management keeps a closer eye on the staff so the whole experience stays as sweet as the ice cream!
