This place has THEEEE most amazing service. And the food was soooo soo good. But MOST of all.....the DESSERT menu!!!!! Oh myyyyy! I can't possibly put how much I loved this place into words! read more

The food was delicious and fresh. I got the fajita bundle with chicken with a dessert of churros. The portion was a perfect size for me for a reasonable price. I would definitely order from here again. The o my thing I would say is the chicken just needed a little bit of seasoning besides that it was juicy and cook to perfection. read more

Really good food even tho it's not authentic Mexican. The tres leche is to die for!!!!!!

Food is just okay and a not very flavorful. I wouldn't necessarily order from here again, but it was good enough. The place is cute and the staff is friendly though! read more

Really good authentic Mexican food!! Very helpful staff and knowledgable. The food is made fresh and tastes amazing! KILLS BAJA BY FAR! read more

Went here for my pre-birthday celebration with friends. We started with margaritas that were really nicely made. Chips and salsa served complimentary at the table were good. The salsa was tasty but would have been nice if the chips were warm. They were courteous about refilling both the chips and salsa. A couple of people ordered the standard fajitas in either chicken or steak they all thought they were average but good. I will be coming back for another spinach quesadilla very soon the jalapeños inside gave it a nice kick. The side of sour cream topped it nicely. I would like to try the guacamole next time as well. For a casual inexpensive night out it definitely hit the spot. read more

Our first trip here we dined-in. The wait staff was very friendly and kind. Our food order came out very fast- we were surprised! Our second trip we ordered over the phone for take-out and the girl taking the order from me was not very focused and I had to repeat my order. When we went to pick up our order there was a very long line- and then we were told that the orders didn't have names on them- so it took forever to find our bag. We got home and the sour cream we had to pay extra for wasn't in the bad. Dine in. Don't take out. read more

Good place to grab a bite when your in the mood for Mexican. Food is usually good and service seems to be better at this location than PJ. Decor is a bit Soho styling with funky decor and paintings. Prices are a bit higher than Baja Grill nearby and some menu items warrant the higher prices but portions are a bit below average for what you pay. Quality has slipped a bit in recent years as well but overall a decent place to grab a bite locally. Parking can be tricky as this strip mall is always busy and lots of traffic with Mavis Tire next door. read more

The food at this places ranges from mediocre to excellent. The problem is that it's inconsistent. I normally have it delivered via Uber Eats or pick up. Of the 6 or 7 times I've ordered over 1 1/2 years, it's been wrong 75% of the time. I always order the same thing, but it's never the same - two ground beef soft tacos on flour tortillas. Supposed to come with beef, cheese, lettuce, pico and sour cream. I order them with no lettuce and pico on the side. They put lettuce on them and left off the sour cream. What's wrong with those people? This is a $3.50 Taco! I ordered guacamole as it's usually good. Not tonight! Had to add my own cilantro and lime juice. Chips tasted greasy. Needless to say. I will not order from Salsa Salsa again. read more

Wings had a strange taste. Fish burritos , I couldn't find the fish. Chipolte blows this place away, i was not impressed at all menu is also limited. read more

So disappointed with our order through Uber eats we just received. Tacos were all cold and had no flavor. The cheese on our nachos was barely melted- we had to throw them in the oven to melt the shredded cheese. Even after melting the cheese ourselves, the meal was not what we were expecting at all. read more

Very good food The hot sauce/salsa is amazing. I had the fried burrito (chimichanga) It was huge, delicious, and I ate the whole thing. All the food here is typically high quality, top notch, and really enjoyable. read more

honestly i could rate this higher, I would! Came in here on a random Tuesday and came back on a Friday because one the food is so good, authentic and innovative, second the drinks are amazing (smoked tequila old fashion-phenomenal) and then the service from owner, servers, to hostess were so friendly. We came back on Friday to have their specials and dinner and were absolutely not disappointed. will be back and we cannot wait! recommend if you're in the area. read more

My family LOVES this place, especially my dad. Whenever we treat him to a meal for his birthday or Father's Day, he always wants to come to Salsa Salsa! First off, they have the best salsa in town/around. ...hence the name! We can't get enough of the salsa. We Thai people love our spicy foods, salsa included! We probably go through an entire bottle as a family in one sitting before our meals even come out. Whether you order a fajita or a burrito, it's guaranteed to be huge. Half a fajita/burrito is probably going to be twice the size of your fist. So filling. So delicious! In short, if you're looking for a mexican place, stop by Salsa Salsa in Smithtown or Port Jeff! read more

Always a great go to when looking for a quick Mexican meal...quick easy take out options, from burritos to tacos and yummy dine in fajitas and margaritas, my favorite being the coconut margarita...sometimes have to call a few times to get thru to place an order, that's just a sign of a greatness...food is delicious, staff is friendly and worth the wait when there is one. And don't forget to pick up a side of the yucca fries...my personal favorite. Or when you're trying to be count those calories go for the veggies salad with grilled shrimp. We decided to stray from our usual go to spot and try a new place so we tried Salsa Salsa. It was a huge disappointment and waste of money. We ordered take out and honestly I have never had to actually throw out food but we did. The steak in the fajitas was visibly old, chewy, and disgusting. The chicken in the rice bowl was also chewy, rubbery and tasted strange and old. I took 2 bites and was immediately turned off, the chipotle sauce Mayo stuff was gross and it was all over. We also had 2 orders of nachos grande one with the gross steak and one without. We didn't even try the steak one bc of the fajitas. The appearance looked like a college kid threw cheap shredded cheese on a bunch of chips and microwaved it. When you broke through the wall of hardened cheese, you had stale chips to top that experience off. The black beans were canned and bland, the lettuce in the pico was old wilted and bc of the clear unfresh look we didn't even try, the guacamole was like they bought cheap artificial grocery store containers and served it. That was not guacamole. After just those 2-3 tastings we threw out our $90.00 take out order. It was garbage and I don't even think the raccoons will eat from my garbage tonight. We had to waste the food, the money and go buy dinner somewhere else for additional cost. I never write reviews or complain but I've also never had an experience of food like this before. You are better off anywhere else in the area. I'll never ever recommend or return. They need serious help. read more

Food and service are OK. Web page said open Sunday 12:00pm to 9:00 pm. We got there at 12:30 pm on a Sunday with a tight schedule to find the restaurant with a sign in the window stating it opened at 1:00 pm. When I pointed out to a waitress that the web page said it opened at noon, she just shrugged. We went to the pizzeria in the same strip mall and it was pretty good. read more

I'm upgrading Salsa Salsa after their new ownership. The old staff were very friendly but I always felt their food was a little bland. The new folks customize the food better if you like it spicy. In the tacos or fajitas they will add grilled jalapenos: yummy. Once, I got grilled habaneros, what a tasty adventure! But they don't always carry them which is a bummer! Can't tease a foodie with some fiery habaneros and then expect him to settle for jalapenos the next time! That is like going from Marilyn Monroe to Peggy Bundy! I'm a fajita fan and though their default preparation does not please me, at Salsa Salsa they will listen and customize it to what works for you. read more

Salsa Salsa of Smithtown is our favorite Friday night spot!!! The chicken and shrimp sizzling fajita is a must have!! Absolutely delicious! Delicious quaint little Mexican takeout/sit down joint. The ambiance is nice, and on a Tuesday night it was busy but not packed. It reminded me of Baja Grill up the street but much better. As someone who hates bell peppers with a passion, I loved their salsa that came out with the complimentary chips. Waitstaff was great (esp the bus girls!). Got the plain nachos, which had like a half inch of cheese melted over them (ugh yes), with sour cream and salsa fresca. Reasonably priced, but I wish black beans, guac, etc weren't extra. I'd want to come back to try the drinks read more

I placed an order in person earlier today and the young lady behind the counter was pleasant and took my order. I returned about 10 minutes later and paid for my $81.00 bill then took a peek in my bags and noticed a lime nor salt was in the bag with the half pint of margaritas I ordered for my guests. I asked her for a lime and some salt, she walked away without a word as she rolled her eyes at me. I hear her telling a gentleman just beyond the tables "that lady over there wants salt & lime for her margaritas" in such an unprofessional and immature tone. As she handed me the little containers I said to her how rolling her eyes at me and being disrespectful is not a good trait for someone in the service industry. She leaned over the counter with nastiness saying a few things. All I could do was look at the gentleman worker from the back and tell him how the food is wonderful but I would not be returning to deal with an attitude such as that when I asked nicely for 2 items that should come with my order anyway. Too bad the wrong customer service can ruin any business read more

Hit or miss depending who makes the food. I have ordered here probably dozens of times. The chimichanga with steak is the closest I can find one the island for genuine mexican food. Wish they offered more on the menu. read more

man this is hands down the worst food I have ever eaten. Disgusting. Take my kids to Ralphs all the time and figured I'd give it a shot. OMG, we put it right in the trash and got new take out seriously 88.00 right in the trash. Unique take = dump cheap cheese all over favorless foul food, it smelled, looked old , lettuce was browning... I Took a bite from being famished.... I regret letting it get that far. 100% ruined one of my favorite foods. read more

I have been coming here for years and they have always been great, but I feel like over the last few months with the new menu they have really refined their menu items and the quality is exceptional. I am not big on burritos but the Piggy Burrito is INSANE! Best burrito I have EVER had. It is the perfect blend of spice from the chorizo with some sweetness from the pulled pork + sauce, plus creaminess from the avocado. Their new menu has beautifully-presented drinks - coconut margaritas and generous portions of mojito served in pretty mason jar glasses. Would recommend to anyone in the area! read more

It was a Thursday night... And we were seated as soon as we arrived. Shortly after, fresh warm tortilla chips and salsa arrived. The chips were crispy and delicious and the salsa had a nice heat that crept up on you. It was addicting. Juan, our waiter, was helpful and courteous. We asked him about the surf and turf tacos which he recommended. We also had the crab crab tacos which were quite good thanks to the cheese substitution that Juan recommended... We'll be back. read more

This is easily the best Mexican food anywhere near Smithtown (there's a stand-up bar in Port Jeff), and was a welcome find. We moved out here from Roslyn, and swore that we'd never find any Mexican food that was as good as the Green Cactus Grill there. Like Green Cactus, everything is FRESH. No refried beans, no can openers, nothing frozen, and it tastes that way. I know there are different types of Mexican food, but this is the style I prefer. Their Burritos are absolutely transcendent, and cheap, to boot. Wifey raves on the Quesedillas, and the Tacos were equally good when we tried them. Can't go too far wrong here. read more

My first crispy calamari burrito and likely my last (it wasn't bad, just not something that really jived for me) - ordered it super but it was not super'd. Didn't care for my plantain chips (dry) but others forfeited theirs and they were better (inconsistency is a bit frustrating). The $9.75 price is on the expensive end of the not-tremendous burrito spectrum on LI, and the only items that seemed commendable values were the enchilada style burrito and the bowl of chili across the table. The chips & salsa to start were better than expected, and the service was solid given the busy rush for lunch and the sole server. An older fella was awkwardly lurking in the back corner throughout our step and creeped out all 8 males in our group, so I could imagine how the women at the adjacent tables felt... Forgot to redeem the Yelp check-in offer here (though it would've been awkward anyway since I was being treated) but capitalize on it for 10% off if it's still available. read more

Salsa Salsa is no Baja Grill that was in Smithtown. The atmosphere is cold, Staff very unfriendly. Staff don't greet or have gratitude for visiting. Menus just tossed on table by staff. They charge for everything extra. The food a wanna be Mexican. Terrible tried once went back to give another try and it was still terrible. I don't even want to give it any stars but this will not post without a star. That is the only reason there is one star highlighted. read more

Every time I order take out the food is freezing cold because they don't pack the food properly and leave the take out orders in a counter by the door with the bag opened to let the cold air in. Won't be ordering here again. I'd rather go to cabo fresh read more

Where do I start! I guess any restaurants still on horrible Uber eats needs the business ! Had a $100 take out order and will review them as fair as possible .. extremely fast from order to delivery.. guacamole was good! Shrimp tacos were over cooked... chicken tacos were tomato tacos .. steak tacos were like chewing on gum.. chorizo tacos were a GREYISH color wondering if it was even real chorizo .. the chicken/steak burritos were filling BUT extremely tasteless (besides more chewy steak) like they used ZERO seasonings.. salsa was ehh and the fried raviolis were above average .. all in all spending $100 on take out for the family on a Sunday night with this restaurant was a horrible move and should have known not to stray from my other go to restaurants that are just as close deliver and don't skip the extra step to make there food wow there customers .. thanks for nothing salsa salsa! read more

Was a little cautious ordering Uber Eats after the reviews but 10/10. I used to go here a few years back and the food was always good but I ate there. Food came on time and hot. I ordered a calamari burrito and was worried it would be soggy but it was flavorful and delicious. Ordered three other meals for co-workers and everyone was raving. :) read more

Tacos and quesadillas and soup were good. They have a great selection of tequilas. Waiter was very accommodating with the kids.

Every time I come here the tacos are perfect, I also love the shrimp salad wrap! If you have room try desert, they are all great choices and enough to share. The staff are also always very friendly! read more

The first time we visited here, we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was fantastic and the owner even helped us himself, made us a free drink, and explained the menu and what he recommended. The service was also amazing. We were so excited to find a great restaurant in the area and were very excited to return. Today we returned for dinner and unfortunately did not have a similar experience. I don't believe the owner was there tonight, which may have been why things were different. Our waiter was nice, but the service was just not great at all (complete polar opposite compared to our last visit where the service was impeccable). We both had pulled pork based entrees (tacos and a burrito) and it was so chewy and dry that most of it wasn't even edible. I had pulled pork the last time I was here and it was absolutely delicious, so I was definitely disappointed this go around since I had been looking forward to it. I have to mention that my drink (frozen margarita) was good and the corn appetizer was also good, but the pulled pork was inedible and the quality of service was very disappointing. Definitely was expecting a better experience for a $60+ meal and having high expectations due to the great first visit. read more

I travel 34 weeks per year, 100s of restaurants. This is the WORST Mexican restaurant I have EVER been to! "Meat" (chicken??) in my burrito tasted like an old sponge, with the same consistency. Very little spinach in what was supposed to be a spinach and bean burrito. Avoid this place. read more

A very cute little mexican restaurant. They give you chips and salsa to munch on while you browse the menu. The food here is great and not at all expensive. My personal favorite is the vegetable taco salad. It is basically grilled vegetables and guacamole over lettuce, beans and tortilla chips. yum. They also have a wide selection of frozen drinks that compliment any meal nicely. read more
