2nd time here and it hasn't disappointed. I love enchiladas so I went with their enchiladas suizas and it was so delicious. Even the side of rice and beans was spot on. For dessert I had the coconut sorbet. Had a great time with friends. This place is spacious and great for big groups! The staff were so friendly and on point. My water kept being refilled. Thanks for a great evening, I will return! read more

I found this place to be excellent Spanish food. No waiting whatsoever. The help there are wonderful, kind people. Very attentive. Cocktails are amazing and all the prices are great! Highly recommend your trying it read more

This place was fun! Mariachi band playing as we walked in the door. Warm and friendly staff made us feel comfortable and at home. Welcoming environment, the food was DELICIOUS. Perfect sized portions. Event the rice an bean plate accompanying the entree was better than the rest. Dessert was a banana dish flamed right in front of us. The sauce was so good we drank it through drink stirrers lol. Espresso was a perfect end to the meal. The waiter gave us a shot of tequila an appertif. This was an unforgettable meal in a place we had wandered into looking for dinner. read more

Taking it old school and writing a review without any photos. Sorry for that but I still wanted to give Azulejos their proper review! Came in for lunch over the weekend with family while visiting the area. We had a wonderful time, service was great, as was the food and drinks! We started with the table side guacamole to start which was fresh and made to our liking as asked by our nice waiter. Homemade chips and salsa were also given. I had a wonderful strawberry mojito which was so fresh, strong, and really hit the spot. Probably one of the best I have had! If we weren't going to do other things, I would loved to have stayed and had another one. A good drink is worth it's weight in gold! We all ordered a variety of items from tacos, quesadillas, and enchiladas. I am a big fan of mole sauce so I got the chicken enchiladas in a mole sauce which was really good. The sauce had a lot of depth of flavor with a little spicy kick. It tasted authentic and homemade. Overall, we had a really great lunch and a nice time here. We would definitely come back when we are in the LI area again! read more

After looking on yelp for a New Mexican spot i decided on Azulejos based on most of the very positive reviews here. Definitely was not disappointed. Came here on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty dead which was nice. -Nachos 3/5, not your typical nacho dish. This was maybe 10 chips around a plate that were "stuffed" with toppings. Not bad just not what I'm used to when ordering a nacho app. -Chicken Tacos/Ground Beef Tacos 4/5, well seasoned with nice potions. Didn't feel skimped on like so many other establishments. The meat was cooked well not dry. Each dish comes with 3 tacos. -Chipotle Mango Margarita 5/5, easily the highlight of our visit. Fantastic drink. The chipotle salt was a great little kicker. Highly recommend this drink if you're a mango fan. Overall, very happy with the decision to come here. Thanks to all the helpers who took the time to rate this restaurant. Will definitely return. read more

Service amazing, food fantastic! Love the vibe and decor, not too much, not overly done. Service was fast, attentive and moreover the food was incredible. Salsa and chips good, dinners were delish, steak cooked perfectly, Arroz con pollo fabulous and my son ate up his quesadilla lol Also, drinks the margs are amazing but their sangria I'm still craving more! They sang a cute happy birthday which was unexpected and the desserts churros and chocolate I got one bite because the kids stole it and they had fried ice cream sooooo good! Can't wait to return! Azulejos - Sangria time! - Mexican Near Me - Smithtown, New York

The best Mexican restaurant. They use munster cheese which is a game changer. Their quesadilla amazing as well as their fajitas. I am a huge Mexican fan and this is by far my favorite on Long Island read more

I don't even know where to start ... if you were looking for a reason to come here. This is the one to not come ... save your money go to margaritas cafe. Started with the queso fundido 6/10 Tortilla soup 3/10 Boyfriend had short rib fajitas. Which were inedible... had to spit it out tasted old and sour but couldn't get something else bc server wasn't present. Sangria you're better off just drinking cheap wine Over all not a good experience.. server not present Wish I would've left when I saw an empty restaurant on a Tuesday when they have a taco special Tuesdays ... I just hope none of us get sick. They should at least have good drinks to wash down the horrible food. read more

Had reservations for 8 guests at 7pm on a Sat night. We were all seated on time. Cocktail and appetizer ordered quickly but they forgot to bring bread after the server offered. I liked our table close to the window. We all had plenty of room. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and spacious. Restaurant staff was pleasant and helpful but I got the impression they didn't want to be there . As far as the food, everyone enjoyed their appys and meals. My chicken fajitas were dry but I settled . Chips were ok but salsa is not. I wish they would have been generous with the portion size. Cocktails and margaritas were a little weak. Best part was being with my friends and great laughs. Personally I would only return if friends want to. read more

The vibes were immaculate, great music and fun place. The food was very mediocre and did not have much taste. We ordered a veggie burrito and veggie fajitas and neither of us were very impressed. The staff was super awkward and stared at us throughout our meal and even forgot to bring us water. Overall, I'd grab a drink here but not go for the food. read more

I loved everything about this place! Was awhile ago but still the same crew. Parking sucks but it's worth it!!!

Had an amazing dinner here tonight to celebrate my daughters birthday! We've been here for dinner many times and the food has only gotten better! We had Chilean Sea Bass, Skirt Steak and Enchiladas. All delicious and fresh. Nachos and flautas for appetizers and mango margaritas. The staff were very warm and welcoming as always I let Kelly know it was my daughters birthday and they surprised her with a nice desert and ice cream. Great service too! Gracias! Our go to for Mexican Food. Coming here for over 8 years. Family owned and operated.

Overpriced and food is bland yet they want to call themselves "fine dining" ordered some quesadillas and they have the nerve to serve something that looked like it came straight off of the kids menu. It not even regular sized, appetizer or not there's no reason the the sour cream and guacamole that they pile ontop of it to completely cover the whole plate. I could've made a better on at home. Ordered calamari and it tasted like nothing special for fine dining. My sister ordered the fajitas and the steak was overwhelmingly under-seasoned and bland as was the rest of the food here. Whole bill came out to almost $200 including tip for 4 people plus they charge a $7 convenience fee for credit cards even though we used debit. Overall not an authentic mexican restaurant and way overpriced only good thing was the drinks, but an fyi the pinacolda comes out inside a whole pineapple for $30. Better off going to chili's read more

I have been meaning to update my review for a while now. After returning to Azulejos a few times since my initial visit, I have to say they have greatly improved their game. The menu and food quality have evolved into delicious and inventive Mexican cuisine that I keep coming back for. The bar menu in particular has really been developed with exotic and plentiful varieties of margaritas and other Mexican inspired drinks. Their red sangria alone is worth the trip with a spike of oak-flavored brandy to really set it off! I gotta give it to Azulejos for having the staying power as their predecessors who occupied this space have not been so fortunate. 3 years going strong now. Congratulations Azulejos may you have long success here in Smithtown! read more

Let's see..... my fajitas were burnt and by burnt I mean crunchy and black pieces of meat. And beware .... They charge you three bucks per soda (no refills). Added one star for the really good table side guacamole... but for 20 bucks it should be. Won't be back.... Not worth it. read more

Always excellent. The food is fresh. The best guacamole. Superior - Not typical American idea of Mexican. My husband always orders the grouper that is cooked to perfection. Sea scallops also perfect. read more

Came here about a month ago with some family! To be honest we were headed somewhere else but when it was closed we decided to give this place a shot! I'm very glad we did!! For drinks we ordered pitchers of Sangria and Margaritas! We got the fresh lime in the margaritas which was great because it wasn't overly sugary or sweet! The margaritas were definitely our favorite compared to the sangria so if you're between the two that's what I would recommend for sure! We skipped the apps and stuck with the delicious chips and salsa which were great! For dinner we all ordered something different. I got a taco salad with chicken, everyone else got a steak dish, stuffed poblano peppers, and enchiladas! We all very much enjoyed our dishes. However, even though they were pretty good, they definitely weren't the best we've ever had. I'd say that we all kind of agreed that the food was lacking some spices that we would have expected being at a Mexican restaurant and all! For dessert we ordered churros which were delicious, but then again it's hard to go wrong with these! Overall like I said, not the best place I've been to but definitely very good! Service was great and super friendly! If you're in the area and haven't checked this place out I'd definitely say it's somewhere you need to try! read more

Booked a private party. Guarranted 20 people. Was charged for 22. Adrien stated I needed to pay for 22 when it was clearly communicated to Orlando it was 20 people. Adrien very annoyed that he did not have enough staff to take care of my party. He stated he was only told the day prior. No communication again! Bathroom upstairs broken lock. Party members got locked inside and could not get out. Toilet overflowed. Was told that they were having an issue .When paying the bill.. Adrien did not want to credit the bill for the $100.00 deposit I gave to book the party. totally ridiculous! Never encountered such someone wanted to line his own pockets. Probably one of the few authentic Mexican restaurants in the Smithtown area with a huge selection of tapas and entrees to choose from, with something for everyone. I've only been here a handful of times, but the quality of the food has always been consistent and on point, and the staff attentiveness and friendliness is commendable. Oh, and the margaritas are a must. Do yourself a favor and just order the pitcher, unless you're by yourself. Eh, whatever, even if you're by yourself. Just get a ride share after, because you'll need it! read more

The wait staff is nice and professional. And I've always had a nice experience there. Highly recommend as one of the best Mexican restaurants on Long Island. read more

Early Saturday evening I wanted to go somewhere with good drinks. Azulejos was recently featured in a local paper as a newly opened restaurant where Uncle Bacalas used to be. Apparently it has the same owners as Viva la Vida of Oakdale which serves up a variety of Margaritas/tequilas. From outside, the restaurant is pretty nondescript. The bar area seems somewhat small and not as well lighted as the dining area. We were seated quickly next to a tile mural wall of starfish and seashell. Complimentary tortilla chips and salsa came soon. The chips were fresh and crispy and the salsa was standard. The service in the beginning was a bit spotty and there was no drink menu as of yet. We asked the waiter who took our drink order how much was the pitcher of Sangria. He went to ask and disappeared for about 15 minutes and reappeared at a neighboring table making tableside guacamole! Finally, another waiter came and we placed our orders. Glass of red sangria, house margarita, enchilada poblana, and paella Valenciana. Our drinks came and one sip of my Sangria made me disappointed at having picked this place for good drinks. My red sangria tasted like cheap red house wine, diluted with ice. I didn't taste any fruit infused flavor. After one more sip I ditched that for a watermelon margarita, which was a much better choice. Refreshing and just enough tequila with a nice presentation. My main dish chicken enchilada poblana came with rice, salad, and beans. The rice and beans were nicely cooked and lightly seasoned. My enchiladas were good, and I've only had mole sauce a handful of times so I'm no expert, but theirs was slightly on the bitter side. The paella, on the other hand, I've had numerous times, and theirs lacked seasoning especially saffron. The rice was perfectly cooked with good texture but the dish definitely needed to kick it up a notch in seasoning. This restaurant has potential and it would be interesting to see how they progress after a few month. read more

Was there last night celebrating a birthday . I rarely eat Mexican food as i don't like the food because it tends to be smashed up but this place is more Americanized Mexican. I enjoyed it very much . I had the grilled pork chops with yellow rice and black beans . Very flavorful. I also drank 2 peach margaritas also very good. I had a Spanish coffee very good. Also the bananas foster/flambé . Very nice presentation. Also had some apps :chorizos, stuffed jalapeños. , chips and salsa. Guacamole was also very good. As for the staff ;attentive and personable. There were also 2 singers with guitars. I had a very good experience here. Also received at the end of our meal a shot of tequila with like apple schnapps in it and some spice. It was good. Planning on returning for another meal and some entertainment. There is also a happy hour but not sure of the times or days. read more

Mexican There is a real dearth of authentic Mexican places on Long Island so I was happy to see Azulejos open - even in the dead zone they are in. Biggish bar area greets you when you walk in, and I got started with fresh margaritas with lime juice (their "natural") which is heads and tails better than the crap we always get with sour mix from the bar gun in just about every other restaurant in the U.S. A bowl of tortilla chips with some spicy salsa got my taste buds going and I decided to work my way through as many items on the menu in order to gauge the food - started off with chicken tamales. Decent but not outstanding. Large overall and good. Next up came the garlic soup- I love that stuff and this was good but not as powerful as I have had at other places. Still good. Followed it up with fish tacos that were on the specials menu. Again good - but not spectacular. Bartender / owner was outstandingly nice and overall I think this place can only go up- they are off to a good start and I will check it again in the near future. Overall a solid place. Parking in the rear read more

Been here twice now sat at the bar both times. Can't say enough about how tasty their food is and how friendly their great bartender is!

Delicious food, very fresh! The service was prompt and professional. The place is beautiful and authentically Mexican.

Not sure what's happened here. Came in today to find the drinks taste completely different. Some of the regular food items I order also no longer have the same flavor. Perhaps new owners? Very disappointing, they were making some outstanding drinks here last year. read more
