11/9/25 - Out running errands and saw a pizzeria I had not noticed before so... I pulled in the lot and read the reviews. The place is called Sal's Pizza and it's located on Rte 130 in East Winsor, NJ. People were very kind in the reviews---good sign. They had just turned on the lights moments before I stepped in and were beginning to stock the pizza case. I didn't feel like waiting so I ordered two plain slices and hoped for the best. I'll start with the good: The sauce is tangy and wonderful. It is seasoned OK too but it could use just a touch more to give it that "punch" that I seek. The cheese is premium mozzarella and has that stringy mozzarella cheese pull that makes for an A-1 pie. The crust (outer and underneath) is super flavorful. I would probably classify this as thin crust. The bad: There is ZERO CRISPINESS to the outer crust or the undercarriage. None. And as you would imagine, the slices wilt like wet noodles. When you try to pick it up, everything slides off. Even if you fold it, you get the same limp results. I was super diligent trying to eat and keep the toppings off my shirt. That didnt work either. T-shirt ruined. I wanted to dine-in but after I ordered, I had to run to my car to grab my wallet. When I returned within 30 seconds, (yes, really 30 seconds) they had already boxed my slices without ever asking me if it was to stay or go. I just assumed they didn't want me dining in for whatever reason so I paid and left. If they ever solve the crust issue, they'd have something special here. But until then, they are just.... Sal's is the real deal. I am biased cause I've been eating it my whole life, but this is some of the best pizza and wings you can get. The slices are crisp and super delicious, each bite blends the cheese, sauce and dough perfectly and is bursting with flavor. The wings are equally awesome, and come with delicious buffalo sauce that you can order in various levels of hotness. They're also super crispy and delicious. I love Sals pizza but the last pie we ordered was disgusting. It was cold and didn't taste good. Not sure if I'll order again. The food is very inconsistent and sometimes seems just thrown together. read more

When in the mood for some high caloric cheesy goodness, Sal's has been my go-to pizza place for over 10 years. In fact, when dad visits from Delaware or my sister and her family from Massachusetts, Sals is their first choice in pizza too! The shop is nothing special and it's not the type of place you would want to sit down and eat-in. But, if you want take-out or delivery of a great New York style pizza with a nice crust, ample cheese and pure deliciousness Sals has got that covered. We've been ordering from Sal's forever, their pizza is always consistently delicious - my personal fave is the Sicilian, which never misses. For a recent family party we did half trays of eggplant parm, meatballs in sauce, and their antipasto salad. I've never had a bad bite at Sals, it's our go-to for pizza, and considering my parents are both former NY city kids, that's high praise indeed. read more

This is my family's go-to when we want to order a pie. We always ask for the pizza to be well done so it's nice and crispy and we also always ask for extra sauce. It makes a big difference and it's always so consistent! I really like their chicken parm subs too. Wings are decent and always full of meat. I consider Sal's an East Windsor staple and we love their food. read more

This is my second time here when traveling and I really liked their hoagies and cheesesteaks. If you get the large it's like two sandwiches. You can get it and share! I ordered online and came and picked it up. They had it ready. No waiting. The hoagie was my favorite. Cheesesteak was good as well. If in the area again I'll try something new. So far they haven't disappointed. Prices are good and service is nice. It's a small shop but u can eat it or take out. If your in the area give it a try when I'm out this way this will be my go to spot ! read more

I move here in 1996 and Sal's was very good, quality cheese, sauce, and crust was good also. Over the years they have gone downhill. I was asking for them to match the Reservoir Italian Restaurant in b Boston, NJ. I final gave up and finally found a good Pizza in Cranbury, NJ. Sadly their place burned down, so tonight I gave Sal's another chance! After eating two slices, I gave it to the garbage can; especially at the price they charge! read more

When we were getting ready to move to East Windsor, this was the first pizza place we visited...we were waiting for our house to close and we were hungry, so we stopped there for lunch. Their Cheese Pizza is sooooo good!!! After moving into our new house, we've been back there several times and even used them to cater our daughter's birthday party. I didn't understand the fuss about new jersey pizza until I had sal's ... And from the true locals, this is as good or almost better than new york. When I lived in California, I had someone hand deliver a whole pie as their carry on luggage. This is no joke, and coming in person- it didn't disappoint. So, I got a slice of fresh mozzarella and the regular cheese. We sat inside ( a little cold and cramp), but family owned and a local hot spot for the teens. So this place has been around for as long as i can remember. its one of the places that holds fast in any economic condition and while lots of stores around it have come and gone....cept the mickey D's next door. this place is pretty damn good. Id go with the pizza and the wings. cant go wrong with em. but if you want a sub/hoagie, cant go wrong with them either. eating in is kinda cramped but they do deliver. they recruit from the highschool and they are pretty efficient but they do the tip dance sometimes which is kind of awkward when they charge you like 3 dollars for delivery fee. service inside by the owners and workers is not what i would label the friendliest, but its a small hole in the wall that serves pretty decent food so cant really complain :). also Ac is non existent so get it delivered and enjoy the coolness with a hot slice of pizza. read more

I love Sal's! The pizza is hand-tossed, freshly made and just authentic, quality pizza. I called to order a cheese pizza for pick up on Valentine's day, and I asked them if they could make the pizza heart-shaped (you know, to go with the whole Valentine's Day aesthetic, and they said "of course!") It was pretty busy that day, so when I went to pick up my pizza I had to wait a few minutes but no complaints here because the staff working there were all working non-stop due to the massive influx of calls and orders that day. The pizza I received was heart-shaped (as requested) and tastes the way a quality hand-made pizza should taste. The cheese and sauce of the pizza blend together in a melt-in-your-mouth happy kind of way. So, if you want great local pizza, definitely go to Sal's. read more

We have ordered pizza from this establishment in the past and always had great pizza. However, this weekend we received a large pizza that tasted like it had been reheated, the dough was dry, tasteless and what appeared to be cheese was burned. The pizza tasted so bad that we threw a portion in the garbage. We were really surprised to receive a pizza that was not edible. read more

We always liked Sal's. This was our favorite place to get pizza in East Windsor. When we are in the area we like to order from here.

Just ordered and got our food. Veal Saltimbocca on the menu Veal with red sauce and appropriate vegetables. Veal Sorrentino on the Menu Veal with red sauce and appropriate veggies. Chicken Parm also red sauce but since this is the actual dish, that's ok. My hubby and I don't eat red sauce anymore so we just paid 50 dollars for rubbery veal and red sauce no one will eat. Either fix your menu or your food. So disappointing. read more

As close to those NYC street side $1 pizza slices as I have had in this area. Large cheese pie is $12 which is very cheap. Staff is friendly. Pizza is no frills and awesome. Nothing else to say. Keep doing what you're doing and I'll be back guys! read more

Love their sandwiches... I usually get a meatball parm. They use the classic pizzaria meatballs that I've enjoyed for years, loaded with tons of cheese on a toasted roll. Perfect! Their prices are very competitive for the same quality of food found at other spots in the area. read more

They make the best pizza in East Windsor. I live for their chicken Parmesan sandwiches. Great customer service, they customize dishes for you - all you have to do is ask. Consistent too. When they say your order will be ready in 20 to 30 minutes, it's ready in 20 to 30 minutes. read more

I ordered delivery from Sals when I was in town for business, so I can't speak to the ambience or staff, but the food (chicken parmigiana with s side of meatballs) was delicious. Sal's owners/management act like customers are lucky to get a pizza from there. No appreciation. But, the biggest thing is how they treat their employees- like garbage. I am uncomfortable as a customer, and I am bringing my business elsewhere. read more

Their pizza is really good so why I am giving one star review? It has something to do with owner's attitude. I placed order though their website and when I called for pick- up food I was given higher price quote than what it is mention on their website menu. I just wanted to make sure that they have correct order. Owner came on phone and explained price has increased for most menu item and one should never trust internet. What ...? One should not trust their own website? This is a very poor customer service I have ever came across. Any way I paid what they asked me to pay and pizza was good so it was it. I picked-up their new menu and noticed big promotion banner on front page to join their Face Book page and get discount. Just for fun asked owner if I should trust their FB page? There was no answer. I always stop by for a Stromboli when I'm in the area. Excellent value and great dipping sauce.

One of the better pizzas in the area. Sandwiches are big and not pricey. People working there are cool and the service is pretty good. I usually get take out or delivery and the food was always hot. If it's busy there's not a lot space to wait while you're in line to pay. Otherwise my favorite nearby pizza joint. Other places $$$$ for same stuff and it's not as good. read more

No doubt, this is the best pizza in New Jersey. We ordered pretty much weekly. When not in the mood for pizza, their meatballs are AMAZING! Also, the pasta and meat sauce is yummy.
