"Sal"-utations! Call her Brandi, MARGE, Brenda....the server goes by many names, but call her efficient! My hubby and family came here for lunch after visiting the quaint town of Crozet and and stocking up at Chiles Orchard. Crozet is a small community with few restaurants, so if you're hankering for Italian, there aren't many choices at your dispo"sal"! We, however, were warmly welcomed into this somewhat drab joint and settled in our booth. Beer & wine was chosen, although the wine pour was skimpy for the price. The menu had a wide variety of Italian favorites. I chose the Philly cheesesteak served on a fresh, warm hoagie roll (also known as subs or grinders) which was tasty while not stand out. A good but not great sandwich. My sis had the Italian sub and she said it could have had more meat, but was also pretty good. Bro ordered the burger, meh, nuff said. And hubs ordered this huge calzone with onion rings. The calzone was really good as I gleaned a bite or two, a melty cheesy, meaty moon of Italian goodness. The onion rings were crispy and delish. His meal was the best of the four. Mostly average food & prices, in this nondescript eatery, in dire need of a facelift. And, while it was satisfactory, it wasn't out of this world. While I wouldn't necessarily seek this place out, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to returning if we were in the neighborhood! I like to try the pizza, so I'll keep you posted!

A flop from the past. This is the kind of place that was probably the place to go in the early 80s... and from the looks of it, nothing has changed since then. And they definitely need a ventilation update. You WILL leave smelling like food. We stopped in, placed an order to go, went next door to pick up some things, went back, and proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. We sat directly in front of the counter, so there's no way they couldn't have seen us. After waiting way too long, we got up and approached the counter. Without saying a word, the girl said she just sent word to the kitchen to see if our order was ready. In seconds, he brings it out... already packaged. HOW LONG HAD IT BEEN SITTING BACK THERE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GO GET IT? Surely it was already ready long before we lost patience and stood up to ask about it. As if that weren't enough, my steak & cheese had zero flavor. My fries had zero flavor. No salt. And the bread was pizza dough. Weird. My sister's calzone had okay tasting ricotta and marinara, but again, the dough was not great. Never again.

A cozy and warm small place with nice staff. The pizza was cheap and so huge. Highly recommended.

We began with very well crafted cocktails and I had the most delightful mocktail, an Unlit Gimlet; so bright and fresh and the pink peppercorn garnish was the perfect counter to the sweet. Food from beginning to end was fabulous. Servings sizes were filling and just right and not overly huge. So enjoyed our pastas from the Bolognese, the Carbonara, the Raucci, and the Primaverili (a perfect bite of spring green). Of the four, our table's favorite was the capellini gamberi Raucci but I wouldn't hesitate to order any of our selections. Sides of roasted fennel with oranges (the best fennel I've had) and the cauliflower were beautifully done. Appetizers enjoyed were the Roman artichokes, bread and olive oil, and olives. We ended the evening with the chèvre cheesecake, affogato and espressos. Service was professional, yet friendly and very welcoming. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

From the moment we stepped in everyone shared our excitement and served us with so much happiness. The food was incredible--the menu was so diverse and had so many tasty options. We had the mussels which were mind blowing. We always order mussels on any menu and we agreed that these were probably the best we have ever had overall. You could drink the delicious broth they are cooked in or just soak the wonderful House made bread in it and eat it like we did. They gave us complimentary champagne and pumpkin cheesecake which was totally unnecessary but speaks to the thoughtfulness of this restaurants staff and ownership. We had another dinner the next day at another respected restaurant and it was such a let down after Duner's. The wine list here is delicious and fairly priced. Our entrees were both fresh, great portions, and genuinely delicious. We both can't wait to come back here again and again. It's a quaint and cozy feel and everyone is friendly and inviting. The menu isn't huge but there's a good selection of beef, fish, chicken dishes. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts app was very tasty..had a nice kick to it with good flavor. The Halibut, creamy Shrimp & Sausage Pasta and the Coq au Vin were all very enjoyable. Fresh ingredients and just good solid dishes all around. What we really enjoyed was the Coconut Cake with fresh berries. Wow, fluffy cake with a nice berry sauce and fresh whipped cream. One of the best coconut cakes we've had. Been very impressed with the Charlottesville food scene and Duner's didn't disappoint.

The ambiance of the location was that of an upscale Italian eatery. The perfect spot to celebrate a big accomplishment or fancy date night dinner. Our server was something to behold. Even heard the staff person who seated us say to a co-worker "don't forget about the table in the window." Asked for the wine list and ordered a bottle which sat sweating in plain sight on the bar while we ate our salads. My chicken dish was cold when it got to me. I sent it back and got a do-over plate of the same order. The re-do was better, but my judgement was clouded by that point. My fellow diners felt their entrees were decent, but that the bread was really the best part of the meal. I left wondering how and why this place survives. The whole operation feels like it just wants to nod off to sleep. Maybe a Thursday night is slow? Maybe outside of the school year there's a lull at this place? Those are the benefit of the doubt questions I want to ask in their defense. But ultimately I feel like this place seems to keep going out of some sort of "but we're a restaurant" obligation. Won't return; don't recommend.
